The reason it works on music sites like what.cd is because its a lot easier to find content thats not on the site and ripping/uploading music takes hardly any effort at all. Bonus point systems are find for sites like PTP and BTN because content is much more limited and making good encodes actually takes quite a bit of effort and most TV shows/movies will end up being uploaded. If there were bonus points on music trackers, a lot more requests would go unfilled because nobody would bother since they already get enough buffer from bonus points.

Scene releases require the capture of transport streams. In all cases where HDMI or analog capture is the only option the release must be marked as AHDTV, for analog HDTV. Many of the transport streams these days are bit starved as cable/satellite providers shove more and more HD channels in so garbage in, garbage out.

If you consider nicely done HDMI captures squeaky clean yes. The ones that come out on BTN are usually better than the scene ones but they take longer. It's not because of adaptive streaming but because they simply don't even give you the option. PC/browser gets cucked for a lot of these services. Best to have a game console or a streaming device to rip from.

As of late there are some SD rips done directly from Netflix, as in no capture/transcoding, showing up. The quality is good but it's still SD...

Also, right now A/X has ~3 times as many registered users as PTH. More users means a higher chance there's someone in there who wants the album you're uploading.
