What is /g/watch's opinion on Nomos?
Specifically their new Neomatik's with their first truly in-house made and designed movement?

I don't pretend to believe that the new auto movement would provide any material benefits as far as time keeping goes, but it's nice that they're not using off the shelf parts, as time tested as those parts may be.

This brand befuddles me. I admire their simplicity, but when I look at them in person I can't help but get bored by them.

Anyone wear a nomos (any type) as their daily wearer for a significant amount of time?

Do you find that it's glued to your wrist or do you more often than not reach for something else in your collection to wear instead of it?

Don't have a analog quartz... But my oldest watch is from 1940. (a very worn and tattered tutima flieger, similar to picture related... I have tried to take hundreds of pictures with my phone and tablet and they are too blurry to even see that it's a watch) It still works and have been worn regularly since the 50s. The hands have been changed twice, the bottom button have been exchanged to a smaller steel one and the crown is new (from the 1970s). But that is my oldest watch.

It was a Luftwaffe watch that my grandfather got during WW2. I don't know how, he was a doctor in Norway.

Well that was my logic. I was thinking of buying an actual Black Bay, but I'd have to do some saving first. So I found this and figured it would scratch my itch and see how I like the size/style. I STRONGLY suggest that you take out the movement, close the case up and water test the case before you get it wet.
And lube up the seals with some Si grease.

You don't really need to have a pressure testing machine. Unscrew the back, take the movement and dial out and screw everything back in and screw the crown down.
Put the case at the bottom of a tall mug and leave it for a day or so.

hey guys, yesterday I took my watch off while I was eating and accidently pushed off the counter and it landed on the crystal. Nothing happened to the crystal thankfully, but I noticed today when I was shaking the watch to wind it (autmatic movement) the seondsmovement would come to a halt. I thought that was a bit weird and I don't think I noticed it before.

Is this normal or did something get screwed in the movement? Should I take it in to get it inspected by a pro? The watch still works but just when I shake it seems to stop the seconds hand.
