Sweden, no carrier, budget around $350, possible to extend budget.
Moto X Force

I'm buying myself a phone for christmas, that others will chim in on, probably up to around $350 at most.
With that budget I initially bought a Moto X Force during black friday, but after reading about how easily it scratches, I really just want to return it. Whatever it does better in specs on other phones don't really matter, since it has no durability. I'm not an avid gamer on the phone, only game I actually play is Hayday, but who knows, maybe there'll be fun games some day.

So, I've been thinking about what other phone i should get.
As for now, the only real competitor close to the same price point is Nexus 5X, either 16GB (2869 sek) or 32GB (3110 sek). I do care about Camera, and Honor 7, moto G4 Plus has bad ones.

Additionally, I put some thoughts out and adding $100 for a Nexus 6P (3789 sek / 22% over 5X 32GB). But that's a lot of money, for something that may not last me all that much longer.
I was also thinking of an extra $150 for a OnePlus 3T, but I then figured I won't actually get it in time for christmas, and while it'll probably last me quite a few years, it's a lot of money. So I don't think I'll go this route, even though it appears to be a really good and long lasting phone.

What should I do?
In my mind it's Nexus 5X vs Nexus 6P, kind o
>>

>>57770135
If that's your choices, go 6P.
>>
>>57770046
i'm waiting for the last phone model so I never have to feel like I have to upgrade
>>
>>57770135
X Force is old, has a shit battery, and SD808 is an overheating crap of a SoC.

G4+ has a great camera, not sure what are you on.
http://www.androidpolice.com/2016/07/19/moto-g4-review/

>The Moto G4 camera is just okay, but the G4 Plus punches above its weight. The new camera app is much improved.

6P is overpriced.
>>
>>57770168
Don't want to argue, but just some of my concerns with it.

5X has the same camera as 6P, so I'm not actually getting a better camera.
But, more RAM and spec, larger display with higher resolution, and AMOLED... Maybe it's worth it.

I don't know how long my phone will last, I'm not a person who buys a new phone every year or anything, so I'm really thinking about the longevity compared to price a bit.
>>
Is rooting that important compared to the past? Does everyone still root their phones?
>>
>>57770206
Does the G4+ perform as well as 5X, when it comes to camera though?

It's a lot cheaper, so maybe I'd go with that then... But that's like reducing the value of my Christmas presents, since I'm pretty much only getting a phone.
>>
HOW DO U PIRATE GAMES & APPS ON THE S7 EDGE
>>
>>57770135
Extend a bit and get a OP3(T) if you're the type that uses phones for years it will become obsolete much later
>>
>>57770206
Oh, and this

>6P is overpriced.
Moto G4+ 16GB - $268
Nexus 5X 16GB - $310
Nexus 5X 32GB - $336
Nexus 6P 32GB - $410

A bit of the problem is, if I buy the Moto G4+, I'm under budget, and I won't save any money on going under budget.
Somewhat tempted to go Nexus 6P, just because of Amoled, more ram, and bigger screen.
>>
>>57770356
Problem with that is that I won't get it in time for christmas, it could be 1-2 months after christmas... And I don't think that's a good way to have people buy into your christmas present, that you don't have at christmas.

It's a lot because of it that I'm more hesitant with Nexus 6P.
The price difference isn't that huge, but the performance difference is really large. Making the 6P have pretty poor price/quality.
>>
>>57770398

Aliexpress is legit, but i have no idea if they sell it with the global there as all ive ordered from them is cheap chinese shit (not phones), the main reason you want a redmeme wih the global (google apps) rom installed is because they open the box and check for defects before sending it, not because of the rom itself.

I dont see the point of MIUI when its pretty ass, id rather flash CM13/14 on it and call it a day, i cant stand huawei and xiaomi stocks, they make the phone look like an iphone ripoff

I need a phone my dudes

>Country
USA
>Carrier
AT&T
>Features
Decent camera, nice display, warranty, >3hr battery w/ medium/light use, unlocked (no contract/not on plan/no installments)
>Budget
<$200
>Size
<5.5" (unless has a good pen/stylus)

I'm looking for new or refurbished, but not new in the sense that it came out, like a month ago, but more of a not-used device from ebay. So older devices that can still be found new or refurbished are still fine so long as it has warranties.

I'm eyeing the LG G3 or and S5 since they can both be had for under $200, are a good size, and the camera's not bad on them. I'm also looking at the 2014 moto x just because it's such a comfy phone (as i had one and it perished) with good software and features and can be had for around $150.

Have any recommendations?

>>57780536
How does the camera compare? I really need some decent low light and camera stabilization.

I don't mind the ram, coming from a phone with only 2gb, i wouldn't even top that out, let alone 3.
I mostly text, use the camera, call, and watch the occasional video, I don't need something that powerful.
SD 801 and 2gb of ram is what I've been using and can easily be comfy with.

Also how are Xiaomi's warranties in the states?
>>

And seeing how most of their phones don't even support AT&T's 4G bands, UI I don't really care much for, and, from what I've seen, questionable support in the US, why would I get one?

HTC 10, has all you ask plus top tier sound, easy to root and a pretty good camera even though you dont care about it

id also suggest an OP3T but it lacks an sd slot, has worse camera and is slightly bigger, 5.6 iirc

whatever you do, dont buy a pixlel or an LG phone

Just discovered the zenfone 3 which takes better photos than the 1+3 for 125 dollars less.

Any reason why it's never recommended?

Sure, it's got weaker specs, but camera and battery life is pretty strong and the overall performance, including games, Is smooth.

Also has a nice design in my opinion.

Need some advice from strangers on the Internet who may know more about phones than I do.

Been a Samsung fan boy since I picked up the giant piece of shit that was the Samsung Behold. Since I can't buy a make shift grenade Note 7 even if I wanted to, should I get the S7 Edge? I actually do use the stylus a lot for work but could live without it if need be.

My Blackberry classic on contract with EE though carphone warehouse has developed two issues
>Intermittent signal loss throughout the day for a varied period of time, definitely not due to location and different sims have been tried
>patch of dead pixels

What's the best way to go about getting the phone replaced. It is still in warranty (apparently 24 months for the handset) so that shouldn't be an issue. My main concern is that they'll try to push the option of repairing it, if anything, which isn't feasible as it will mean I'm without a functioning phone for a fair few days... most likely more than two weeks.

I'm a persistent fucker with this kind of stuff but does anyone anything that will help me with this?

'without causing inconvenience'

pretty sure I heard some Dutch store talk about how nice they are giving people temporary phones in an advertisement, but I think you can get a temporary phone at almost every store as a result of the 'without causing inconvenience' thing. These things are European IIRC, so I bet your silly britbong CARPHONE warehouse tries to follow the law as well. Most people will already have a sort of usable phone lying around somewhere tho, so most stores probably won't offer a temp phone if you don't ask to save work/money.

Where do I buy a genuine battery for my LG G3? All the ones I'm looking at on Amazon have god awful reviews and fairly obvious shilling.

Can you order directly from LG?

I believe you can order from their website.

>Most dumb fuckers speed up the process by constantly heating the fucker up with playing video games and dumb shit.

Lmoa whats the fucking point of having that smartphone then? Firefox or Chrome mobile would have similar impact on the phone if you have 10+ tabs open, just give it back or ask for a refund, then invest it in literally any other phone that isnt an LG.

>>57790887
S7E or HTC 10 are the best flagships atm, Pixlel is way too overpriced and lacks a fuckload of things the other two dont, at least they didnt go full jew and take out the earphone jack, never buy LG.

>>57794915
Why not get an extended battery, zerolemon is good.
>>
>>57795179
>Why not get an extended battery
Because I do not want to replace the back cover of the phone with the enlarged one needed for the extended battery.

Also cases won't fit and I don't really trust larger batteries. Would rather just carry around 2.
>>
>>57795236
I see, then look into buying a powerbank or something, fuck upening the phone every time you switch battery or sd, i bought a redmeme because it has a little tray on the side in case i want to swap the sd card or put another sim in there.
>>
>>57795295
I have one, but the battery is old and doesn't hold a charge as long as I would like it to.

So through work I can either get a 32gb Pixel or an S7 for free.

What should I get?

I have a Note 5 (warranty replaced my damaged Note 4, rip best phone). I'm itching for an upgrade for no reason but no other android seems to combine my wants of big screen, good performance, (optional bonus) SD card and removable battery like it does. I think the iPhone 7 is a great piece of tech, first iPhone I've wanted, but the OS and lack of back button make me feel bad.

When will my suffering end? What phone should I be looking forward to?
>>
Thinking about buying a phone for my brother but I don't want to go all out. Also, it's late to order anything overseas (redmi, etc) so I have limited options.

$100 is what I want to spend. Right now the zte max 2 looks to be the one I'm going to pull the trigger on.

Are there any other phones out there you guys recommend at this price point? Since it is a gift I rather not get anything refurbished.

alright, ive searched everywhere online with no luck, so im hoping you guys will have an answer, but i seriously doubt it. i bought a xiaomi redmi note 3 pro from some chink seller on banggood. said it was the global edition, supported my carrier's bands. anyways, gets here, doesnt work with my sim. i go through a bunch of hoops just to flash it to a ROM that would work, gets stuck at 99% or something and fails, now the phone's a brick that only has a red flashing LED. tried everything software-wise, ended up making a deep flash cable and finally using the testpoint; they both had an effect on the flashing of the red LED, but nothing besides that. local phone shops don't seem to be able to help me. wat do

I need to buy a new phone to replace my old note 7, but so far everything on the market seems like a downgrade. I've been searching for a month at this point and can't delay the recall any longer. I'm in Canada and my budget is $1000 CAD. Any advise would be appreciated.

I just ordered this for $60. Did I do good? I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to android and smartphones. I needed something for less than $100. I know the camera and storage are shit, but I'm going to try to install a rom on it to remove AT&T and Samsung's shitty bloatware.

There is unnoficial bug-free CM13, beta CM14 and Resurrection Remix which is based on CM13, also stock Nougat, check XDA.

It will take at least a year and for the phone to be popular/a developers favorite in order for official CM to be made for it, kind of strange that no one is even considering it since every Moto G before these 3 got CM and the G4/Play is THE budget phone, i guess the redmeme eclipsed every other phone in the market.

>>57797795

>>
>>57797819
Actually now that I look at it I may have fucked up. It doesn't look like it's even possible to root it. I may cancel my order. Is there something decent for a similar price that I can put Cyanogenmod on.

S7 edge? iPhone 7+? HTC 10? Chinkphones?

What kind of phone do you want?
>>
>>57798087
Definitely not an iPhone. I mostly use my phone for social media and media consumption. So screen quality and battery life are very important to me. I want it to have USB C in it, battery must last at least a day of heavy use, and should show no signs of lag. Basically I want something equal to or better than my note. I don't like nexus/pixel because vanilla android lacks a lot of the features I use often. So far I've been thinking of getting the V20, OP3 t, or just call it a day and get the S7 edge.
>>
>>57797277
Redmi 4?
>>
>>57798018
I saw CM13 on XDA, but it looks like it's still got bugs in it. Is it fine to use?
>>
>>57771228
no. Proper way to do it is clean install and then flashing pico. Still you are being fucking autistic about it.
>>
>>57798168
get the OP3T anon, I just got a brand new OP2 for pocket change and that phone fucking rocks. OP3T is way better.
>>
>>57798312
I was going to buy that but then I read about the screen latency issues. How bad is it really for the OP3 t?

a) overblown (I have one)

>Country/Carrier
USA/Verizon, but preferably unlocked for other networks.

>Size
Preferably around 5 inches. Absolutely no bigger than 5.5".

>Budget
Preferably under $250

>Crucial Features
MicroSD card support, bigger is better
Not going to shit itself in 6 months like my old LG G4
No signs of lag. I don't do anything intensive, so lagging on shit like keyboard inputs is absolutely inexcusable.

>Wanted Features
Waterproof
Removable battery
CM-friendly, or at least shipping with a non-obnoxious UI

Leaning towards the G4, but it's a little larger than I'd like.
>>
>>57798665
I think I'll go with the OP3 t then!
Thanks for the advise :)

Have a 5X myself and I thought the camera was garbage until I installed Lightroom.
>>
>>57797517
The Pixel is garbage. It's essentially a Nexus phone with an Apple pricetag, yet the hardware, embarrassingly, can't hold up the iPhones. The only really selling point is the Pixel-only software features, that you can get if you root your phone anyway.

The Pixel is a fashion accessory for anti-apple double-hipsters.

Gonna buy one form Christmas, low quality camera and not perfect screen may not worth over 500$ but totally fine for Chinese retail price of 2799 rmb (405 USD), also miui 9 gonna add edge gesture. Anyway you should consider it if on sale and you feel confident about flashing global/EU rom
