So, what GNU/Linux distro do you use?
Mine is pic related
>>57576421
Arch with full KDE experience ™
>>57576421
/r/ing debian version, because debian related.
>>57576421
Opensuse LEAP 42.2 KDE
>>57576421
Solus 1.2.1 with budgie.
Still feels like a WIP, but it's still the nicest distro I've tried.
>>57576473
What DE?
Antergos on main laptop
Manjaro OpenRC on second laptop(probably going to put Debian on it)
Manjaro on desktop
Debian on server
>>57576512
Just Openbox
>>57576421
Arch + xfce
>>57576421
arch
important thing is that it's easy to set up without an automated installer
Mint
>>57576511
I don't like how Ikey is experimenting with /etc/
He's planning to clear out the whole /etc subdir. Sounds simple but it's risky

LxDE?

solus
>>57576421
>>57576421
Gentoo +i3

arch master race
>>57576533
I hope it doesn't fuck anything up, I'm really enjoying having zero freezes, hangs, or crashes on my pc.
>>57576497
Thinking of installing this. Ive tried a few distros with the intent of starting to dualboot, and i liked opensuse the best.
>>57576473
>>57576647
It's nice. The only complaint I have is less packages in official repo compared to debian, which I used previously. But you have OBS which is like AUR.
>>57576656
Terrible. Saved.

If you happen to have SELinux pr Tomoyo or GRsecurity with PaX mosules enabled...
Good luck

>>57576421
If they fired their webdev, Manjaro is fine.
>>57577036
Debian, because even the NASA likes it.
>>57577036
OpenSUSE because it has YaST and the others don't.
>>57577062
>nasa
afaik they switched to ubuntu
>>57577062
Good point.
>>57577068
I was thinking about this one.
Don't really feel like installing Arch, to be honest.
Debian Sid
>>57577107
We're already at 4.8.
>>57577036
Solus. It's like a good ubuntu.
>>57576421
Mageia ma nigga
>>57577036
Solus.
It's legitimately my favorite distro now, discovered it and installed 1.2.0, updated to 1.2.1 now and it's blazing fast and just werks.
I used to use Fedora 23.
>>57576921
Not really, it's more of a OS and DE thread.
>>57577036
fedora 24 is great! I currently have it on my desktop. the main dif between fedora vs debian is that it has more frequent software roll outs. if you are new to linux stay away from arch until you are competent enough with it after playing with it in virtualbox.
KDE Neon.
>>57577068
What is there to like about YaST?
I do use openSUSE because it's retard-proof and easy for someone completely uninterested in computing that doesn't directly relate to my profession, but I don't think I've ever used YaST beyond the zypper GUI (which I abandoned pretty quickly)
Any reason you like YaST so much?
>>57576421
I also use Manjaro.
I really enjoy it. It is a good operating system in everyway except for pacman. I don't know, I think I just prefer apt. But all the same I am comfortable.
>All these Manjaro kiddies
Just use mint.
Mint.
>>57577621
Mint is inferior.
>>57576421
Debian Testing, openSuse Tumbleweed. Additionally Arch and Debian Stable on Servers.
>>57577695
Your mother is inferior.
Void (as my soul) Linux
Am I gay for using Elementary OS?
>>57577789
It's really limited, but if you don't find that a problem it's good
arch + awesome

I can't use anything else

I think Fedora 25 is supposed to be released soon, right? I might wait for that.

CRUX. The real minimal distro. Wish it can run on arm though.
>>57576449
You mean xfce?
>>57577789
Yes, install gentoo or debian otherwise you can't be elite like the rest of the linux samefags.
>>57577575
But manjaro is better
>>57578389
Manjaro is a meme. Just use arch or go back to ubuntu.

>>57578772

>>57577389
>>57578810
What's the difference?
>>57578818
A desktop thread is to show off your desktops to anons
This is just to tell other anons what kind of linux distro you use,
>>57578818
You just said the same thing twice.
>>57578842
Ok, so what I was trying to say was, A desktop thread is make to show others what you have loaded on your desktop, and how you have it set up.
This is just us telling eachother what distros we use.
>>57578869
Okay anon, what do you use?
Red Star master race.
>>57578887
I'm literally OP.
>>57578904
So, Red Star?
>>57578924
Manjaro with Xfce
>>57578869
so it's a worse version since a desktop thread shows this as well
and this thread is okay but a desktop thread is bannable
makes sense

Solus+budgie
>>57578015
Just curious - do you have global hotkeys set up for foobar? I'd love to use it in Linux but I'm apparently retarded and can't make it work. I'm used to just using f8 to play and pause.

some of it. I pull bigger packages off entropy
>>57576528
Why not just use manjaro.
>>57579955
kind of defeats the purpose of arch linux, building your system from the ground up without having to uninstall a shitload of software first and use your own alternatives

manjaro net edition. ive been thinking of trying debian testing out even though im used to arch-esque stuff
ubuntu mate on my laptop
>>57578333
Looks nicer than arch and the package building looks intuitive. Never saw /g/ post this one
>>57580814
Thats because its pretty much dead. It got shilled a year or 2 ago, much like solus is in current /g/ and now like solus will be its dead.
Its basically gentoo or *bsd with less packages.
>>57576421
Switched from Arch to try out Antergos. Holy shit is cnchi convenient...

You're one of a kind, Anon.
I heard usually it's the opposite: they start with Antergos, then go to pure Arch.

No, Mint.

arch on my desktop and laptop, debian on all my servers

Laptop Arch + i3
Desktop Gentoo headless atm cause of broken monitor.
RPi Minibian headless
Opinion:
Arch is nice when you need to install shit fast which i do on my laptop.
Gentoo is perfect but needs some time to set everything up.
I don't like debian based but i didn't have the time to port some obscure packages yet that only exist for it. So i guess it has good repos.
