I'm fixing an iPhone 5C for a friend with a fried mobo (chink bootleg charger blew it up) and I've been thinking about sourcing a new board from a device that is iCloud locked becuse they're dirt cheap around here

How hard it would be to bypass the iCloud lock if I did so?

You can probably reprogram or replace the appropriate chip on the board with the chip from the broken board.
