>Business selling a small handmade product
>Sales will be through Ebay, Etsy and Amazon to begin with. The website is mainly to have a a reassuring presence.
>However I would like some kind of e-commerce/checkout functionality for later
>Britfag...I've read some places that using a UK host is better. Others say it doesn't matter, a US one is fine.

Help me decide on providers or tell me about your own experiences pls.

In site5 u can have website and email hosting in the same hosting account and it works very nice.

Aren't I supposed to keep hosting, domain reg and email separate? In case the provider starts jewing me

Hosting:
- I've used OVH for years and they're good. Don't if "best", but never had any issue with them.
- Justhost: Don't. There's better and cheaper elsewhere. Don't get lured in by their (attractive) new comers offers.

Email:
- Google Apps for business is very good, but i got my account for free back when it was free for small accounts.
- I'd advise against setting up your own email infrastructure, for the reason that you need 100% availability or else you will lose emails. Unless you're very tech savvy, let another company handle this for you

Domain reg:
- OVH: again, no isse with them
- GoDaddy: is good also

- Most important is to have a very serious domain registrar. You don't want your domain to suddenly expire, or suddenly change your DNS (hello, Justhost).
- Then emails, as long as you go with a reputable and serious company (google, ms, ...) you shouldn't have any issue.
- Actual server hosting is the most trivial, in case anything goes wrong, take the backup, let the server die, buy another one elsewhere, change the DNS and restore the data and you're good to go.

>the main thing is keeping control of your domain registrar in order to change dns when u need it. I don't think mantain the services separated gonna be a good practice, for cost and operational/support causes, just test the host of your like and if not good for your just change dns and go somewhere else. I personally prefer a monthly billing and not paying for year, anyway i'm on this host since 2013

So if I have a good host, and they offer email, I could just use that email? Or should I get a dedicated Microsoft/Google business email?

I'm aware that Imgur.com will stop allowing adult images since 15th of May. I'm taking actions to backup as much data as possible.
