It's my primary, but that's mostly because I've never run into an instance where ipt didn't have exactly the thing I want. Most of the time there's even a well-seeded freeleech torrent, as evidenced by my ratio since I've definitely downloaded a hell of a lot more than 100gb of shit.

If I were into obscure movies and liked anime, I could see the need to use less generalized trackers. And all of the obscure music I like, I acquired in CD or vinyl format before p2p really became a thing... So for me, IPT is perfect.

I'm sure people into indie music and movies and anime, that play vidya have a reason to be on 4+ different trackers, but that's just unnecessary for me.

Honestly IPT is a great general purpose tracker, and it's especially great for movies and TV. I've been on there for 6 years now, never donated, never put any effort into it, just DL whatever I wanted and yet I have 8TB upload and less than 1TB download.

So this is what happened with Zek (IPT's owner) and PTP/BTN (maybe some other sites too?) -
Zek uses his own user database to access PTP/BTN (by re-using usernames/passwords) and uses these accounts to download PTP/BTNs .torrent files and connect to their tracker. PTP/BTNs trackers then give Zek the peering info of everyone who's seeding the file. Zek added this peering information to IPT's peer list so IPT users were leeching off people seeding to PTP/BTN.
Further, Zek created an open tracker with the stolen peers and added it to the public database - public torrent sites like KAT were then sharing this info (PTP/BTNs peers) to the public. Because of this, some PTP/BTN users got hit with copyright strikes
