When flashing a custom ROM, the developer wants me to first flash the latest official ROM. Any idea why this is? What would happen if I just flashed over older android version?

What do you use NFC tags for? Are they outdated technology or a gimmick that isn't as useful as they seem? I'm thinking of putting two in my car, one for when I enter the car and one for when I exit.

Tag for entering the car would turn off wifi, turn brightness to max, turn on Bluetooth, turn ringer volume up, and open up my music player.

Tag for leaving car would turn on wifi, turn off Bluetooth, bring brightness back down, mute ringer volume, and close applications open in the background.

Hey guys,
I got a rather odd problem, and I'm wondering if you could offer some advice.

About 5 weeks ago, I got a OP3 for my fiancé, to replace her stolen P8. On Monday I also got one for myself to replace my ageing N4.

The problem is with the GPS.
On my OP3, the location is always very close to our real position, it's stable, it connects quickly and the connection seems to be stable.
The OP3 of my fiancé however is not like that. The position frequently moves around, is frequently up to 50+m from our real position, usually to the west. It loses signal/connection rather frequently, up to 3-4 times an hour. All in all, it seems rather inaccurate and unstable.

Is this a driver issue that could be fixed with the next android upgrade? Or is it most likely a hardware issue? Would I get through trying to RMA the phone with OnePlus over a 'GPS that is temporarily without function'?

Honestly I'm really liking it. There's minimal bloatware and what is there can be uninstalled (not just disabled). I had no lag at all. LG also has themes you can install, I have a dark theme which applies to all of my menus. For some things I'm still figuring out what's an LG feature and what's an Android 7 feature but the experience is great so far.

Also, I threw Nova on it as soon as I got it so I can't speak much for the UX launcher.

I have to have an iPhone for work. I have no other options - trust me, I've checked into it.

I can go for the iPhone 6s or 7. I'll be getting the highest storage capacity regardless, and money isn't really a limitation for me. With that said, I want the best camera/battery life I can get (which pushes me towards the 7), but fucking loathe the idea of going without a headphone jack (which pushes me towards the 6s).

By manner of comparison, I'm currently using a 5s, and the battery's now dead in it, so I need to make a decision fast.

I recently got an iPhone 7 because pressured by friends who have iPhones/iMessage.
Holy shit, this phone is hot garbage. The worst is that there's no physical home button, but it's not a touch button like Android, you have to push pretty hard on it for it to function. I swear it's giving me thumb cramps, bringing me to my next point that the ergonomics of the phone are awful, I can never find a comfortable position to hold it.

I miss Android so much, I had a first generation Moto X that was slow, but it was so comfy to use. Tomorrow's my last day to return this iPhone, I'm heavily contemplating it but I don't know what to replace it with.

My G3 has died (well, I have to bake it in the oven every week to get it to work). I need a new phone, but I don't want to spend more than $450. I refuse to buy LG again and I'm on Sprint. If I put the speakers up close-ish to my ears while playing sound there is a load of static, having Dolby Atmos on makes it even worse. It's SUPER bad with Dolby Atmos on but bearable with It off.

Opinions on the One Plus X?

My LG G4 just died. (No Bootloops, just won't flat out turn on or charge) So I pulled out my Nexus 5. Screen is cracked and has white spots from when I replaced the screen myself, but it still works.

I kinda forgot how much I really like this form factor. It's just so much better. I was poking about for a phone with a similar form factor and realized that it's the same price as an LG G4 motherboard would cost if I can't get warranty to cover it. Fits comfortably in my hand, and it's really fucking light. One Plus X is pretty damn cheap, but the battery is pretty small.

Suggestions for something similar?

The nexus 5x is a pretty good phone albeit a bit dated but it's LG shit so I wouldn't trust one with my data, specially not when I can't put and SD card on it and backup everything there.

The top tier choices for cheap yet good smartphones are the redmi note 3 pro and moto g4 (not plus), the Redmi is far superior but it has a custom UI (easily fixed with cyanogenmod) while the Motorola runs stock marshmallow upgradeable to nougat but has a tendency to overheat and has screen burn-in issues.

Looking for a cheap chink phone with a good camera. Less than $200 and 5 inch display.

Looking at the Redmi 3s and Redmi Pro. Is the dual cameras in the Redmi Pro much better than the single camera in the Redmi 3s to justify the price?

If you like small phones yeah go for it, great specs, design and decent camera for its price plus amoled 1080 screen and SD slot, the only bad thing about the phone is that it has a so-so battery, it also literally stole the body of an iPhone 4s, removed the apple, painted it glossy black and scribbled 1+ logos all over it, it even has that little switch for blocking calls and stuff.
