I had microSD card in my tablet that failed from water damage. When I sent the tablet off I noticed the contacts on the card had even rusted.

Once I received my replacement tablet I wiped the rust off and it worked perfectly fine. They are pretty rough physically.

I've been looking at the low-budget Xiaomi offerings - the Redmi Note 3 in particular. My OnePlus One is starting to show its age (in battery life in particular, but I also scratched the screen up a bit). Want to replace with something lower budget.

I like the Redmi Note 3 a lot, but it has no NFC which kind of sucks. I like Android Pay.

What alternatives are there around that price range (<£150)? Non-Snapdragon processor is a big negative for me, I want there to be at least a little dev support. I'll consider a Mediatek-based phone if its stupidly good value but mostly I'm after Snapdragon only.

Yes. Needs phantom power. Not neccesaraly full 48v, but even 12 volt would push it to to reasonable levels.

You can solder and build your own from a laptop supply and some basic shit for cheap, or just a DIY phantom power supply for a tenner.

If you dont want to do either of those things, you can buy a dedicated phantom power supply, or an audio interface.

Phantom power supplies are 10-20 cheaper, but you don't get any real functions.
With an interface you get a dedicated analog to digital converter rather than using your computers converter [which is probably not as good], visual shit, and on the fly gain control.

You can find Behringer interfaces for quite cheap. Just make sure it has an option for power from the wall of some kind. USB won't drive the unit and the mic properly.

They're only around ~30 USD secondhand depending on where you're located.

Also see if you can find any of the Scarlet audio interfaces for cheap. They're the big daddy of interfaces and give you the best features.

Recently got my CK104 memeboard with some cheap usb chargers. The keyboard is pretty good for its price.

That's not the /csg/ recommended Piston 3 (which is out of production anyway) but one of the cheaper models, probably either piston basic edition or colourful edition. They're nowhere near as good, there's plenty of better IEM's around for that price
