I actually did use VoidLinux for a very long time. In fact, I have the installation CD right next to me. I switched back to Debian though for a couple of reasons:

- The community is small and elitist.
- The documentation is poor.
- Small number of available packages.
- A lot of packages are out of date.

I loved the simplicity of the distro and the xbps package manager.

I don't have time to make my own packages and be a maintainer for applications I need to use. I need a mature distro that just works for me, my distro cannot be my work.

If linux hobbyists continue to adapt Void and the community grows, I'm sure I will switch back to it in a couple of years but in its current state it is not ready for real-world use.
