How is compatibility with linux for mechanical keyboards? Are they all the same or I need to check case by case for compatibility? I don't know if they use some standards or they need specific drivers. I'm talking about the standard keys and not leds or programmable keys.

I found a cheap chink keyboard but don't want it to become a pricey doorstopper.

What are these arrows and how do I stop them from working? Seems to me like they mess with the actual functionality of the widgets.

I don't know how to Google my issue. I'm trying to add image buttons and I want them static exactly where I put them, but they're being manipulated by each other at what seems like random ways and when I test them they look completely different on my phone. Also, when I click on them and drag them to resize them it doesn't work. Goes back to the original size, but editing the properties makes it change.

keyboards send key signals which are independent from OS. even for programmable boards like the pok3r, you program the board itself to send different key signals.

there shouldnt be anything to worry bout, although i have heard about a mechanical numpad not working on linux for some reason.

>>57157688
No, there's nothing there. Aside from "super secret" tinfoil hat things. Most of it is just selling drugs online and various criminal things like stolen credit cards. It's really not as bad as people claim it is, but it's also not that interesting. There are... Places... With things that we don't speak of, but those are rare.

>>57157721
Most do. It's either DisplayPort, HDMI, or that other one. Rarely see VGA anymore and DVI is slowly dying off. I may be wrong though. Also, church as stated above.

>>57157722
Driver issues? Or video card related thing... Or Chrome itself glitching. No clue. I had these things happen right before my video card drivers would crash. Disable hardware acceleration in the advanced tab of the options and see if it fixes it.

>>57157730
It's exactly the same aside from the "flat" design thing. They just added redundancy. You can use the new settings menu or the control panel like on previous versions. And what isn't similar is better designed, in my opinion. The start menu is perfect now.

>>57157747
FTP Server for us /g/entlemen. Speaking of which... What happened to that guy that had the server? Did the FBI catch him? Or a crawler type thing that goes to various websites and collects information for you in a nice package... Whatever it might be... Media server and database is really all you'd need. I'll give you an example of my idea. Every week it'll go to someone's Instragram and download all the new pictures and store it in a nice package for you so you can download it... For... Reasons... (^: Maybe learn facial recognition so it only downloads people instead of scenery...

Aspect ratio would throw it off. If you really want the layout pictured
(3 even rows, and 3 equally sized items in the third row), consider dropping a GridLayout inside your RelativeLayout, or changing the RL to a grid.

Personally, for something this rigid, I'm a LinearLayout fetishist. I would do

LinearLayout (Vertical)
->rowOneItem
->rowTwoItem
->LinearLayout (Horizontal)
->rowThreeItemOne
->rowThreeItemTwo
->rowThreeItemTHree

It will force the layout relationship it appears you're going for, regardless of aspect ratio.

VSCode worked with one uni Unity project, and gave suggestions for all of Unity's API if I opened the whole project folder, but then it wouldn't on a new project. But then later it did.
Did I do something? How do you get VSCode to properly open a Unity project and give completion, so I can reproduce it again? Or does it just do it itself if you leave it a bit?

Im selling my old laptop that iave had for 3 years to some chinese person on ebay.
I tried using DBAN but for some reason nothing works. Folowed all instructions and even used both a USB and burned the ISO to a CD Rom but it won't boot up from neither.
As of now, ive deleted every program and file from the user account, and deleted prior system recovery points.

I could still recover to a point where some files are left, but not everything. Uninstalled more programms and plan on deleting my user account (again) and selling it as is since there is nothing else I can do aside from installing linux and I don't think they would appreciate that.

Will this come back and bite me in the ass if I sell it as it is now? I really want to do a proper wipe, but my comp refuses to cooperate.
I even tried Safeerase but I kept getting "install ended prematurely" whenever I tried.

The 4790K is slightly better than the 6700K in some situations. However, it's not that big of a difference. So, go with whatever the best deal is, but lean towards the 4790K. There's no better deal than the 6700K if you're talking about price range. Unless you spend $100 more or so for a 6800K. I assume this is for video games and if that's the case, you can get away with a Core 2 Quad Q6600 if overclocked to over 3.0GHz or a Q9400 without overclocking. The processor, as long as it has four cores or more, is insignificant to performance. It's mostly the video card. You'd be good with a EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti FTW if I'm being frank. People might disagree with me, but it's not as big of a deal as people make it out to be. Or get one of those GTX 10 Series cards. 900 Series is fine too like the 3.5GB GTX 970 (I believe). If you're going this far, I'd suggest just upgrading to a DDR4 machine from the start. If you just want performance go with a Socket 775 motherboard. Or one of the old i7 sockets. 1133 or whatever it was. Don't need 16GB. Samsung or Intel SSD only unless you don't care about drive failure. Case is way too expensive. Don't get a base 980. Get a Ti model. Power supply is way too powerful. Torrent Windows 10. Or torrent Windows 7 Pro or above and use Daz Loader and upgrade to 10 for free with the accessibility upgrade. (educational purpose only *wink*)

>>57157989
More than enough.

>>57158059
You're not investing anything. You're throwing money away, but if $600 is more or less not significant to you. Then sure, it's pretty good. However, since you asked the question in the first place, no. Save the money for an emergency.

Email accounts? A handful. Gmail and Yahoo. Emails? A couple thousand a week. At least 100 a day or so depending on what account. I do a lot of business. Impossible to keep up, but the search features are nice so I just search by person. However, Google has it right in my opinion. Yahoo is a chore. I don't check my voicemail anymore because it's too much and it queues them to auto delete if there's too many so I won't hear most of them anyways. Always keep my phone on silent and use Mr.Number to block calls because I can't use my phone otherwise.

140W CPU and ~150W GPU. Add another 100W for everything else and power loss. Add another 100W for good measure.
If you really want, you can add another 100W for expandability.

Obviously, 850W would be overkill. 500W is enough for your needs. 600W is a good starting point just in case.
The most important thing is to get a quality PSU. Not all 600W PSU's can deliver 600W, specially not as the actual consumption reaches rated wattage.
Research is what you should do. A good PSU can last you through several builds.

it's normal to get 200+ FPS in CSGO with new hardware because it's an old engine.

the drops are weird tho. try resetting the config via launch option and press the recommended button in video settings.

I already know that the engine is old the problem is the drops are fucking huge. It'll stutter a fuckload at random times almost to the point of freezing ive also deleted/reset everything just wondering if I missed anything else.

I'm thinking it has something to do with this

>>

repeater simply repeats the signal, without interfering with it in any way
switches are used to link together a lot of devices, creating a network
routers link together devices connected to it in a network, while outputing a single out-signal

it depends on the games but they're fairly evenly matched overall.

AMD has better DX12 support, and they dont charge you extra for their version of gsync, and they get better driver improvements over time than nvidia (they actually almost go backwards)

With dal.net, I don't think you can, at least not through services offered by that server.

So you'd probably want to look into IRC bouncers. However, if mIRC is difficult for you to use, then this won't be any better.
>>
>>57160781
VRAM doesnt matter if the rest of the card doesnt have enough performance to run nicely at high resolution, but 2x1080p should be fine.

you can easily check a comparison between the 4GB and 8GB versions running at resolutions higher than 1080p to see how well they do, but remember it's a upper mid-end card, they were never meant to push super high resolutions or be future proof.

Great to hear. Most of the free easier-to-use IRC bouncers involve going to a particular IRC server and channel, requesting a bouncer (usually from a bot using a particular command), and then waiting to be approved. Then you have to set up your client to connect through the bouncer to the IRC server you want to use. Good luck!

So you're looking for just some userscript to highlight (or possibly filter?) all elements that fit all your searches?

I'm guessing your problem is that it only shows the image but not the text under it, and it can only be seen after either clicking the image or through the inspector.

If you inspect the image and it shows the category (I really don't know, since I don't browse that site) in the link, then it would be rather easy to make a userscript do that. I can't tell what you're trying to accomplish, though. Are you trying to save whatever images fit your filters? If so, a regular script (especially easy in bash) would work fine. Otherwise, you're going to have to know a bit about javascript to filter through images. I'd help spoonfeed answers on userscripts if I knew more javascript, though (all I know is how to read it and make small edits).

>>
>>57161463
No really, no.

I mean, there are a couple things you could maybe try to attempt diagnosing whether it's the line rather than the modem, but nothing you can do to fix anything.

And remember, just because they do a remote test, doesn't mean that test is accurate. I had a few problems with my old AT&T DSL connection years ago, relating to a close lightning strike. At one point we lost dial tone completely, yet the tech on the phone was saying that the remote test came back fine. I nagged her enough to get a tech sent out, and sure enough, it was a problem with the line running to the house.

Repair shop would work, since it isn't new. I didn't read the ""new"" part. If you try to fix it yourself, you're likely going to screw it up worse, since you're dealing with small parts without any experience.

Good on you for actually removing the tripcode, though.

Yeah only the image, username and number of comments is shown below each thumbnail.

I'm trying to make sorting through the images on the website much easier as I have a lot to process.

I think the best possible method would be to add an extra line of text showing the category under each thumbnail. It should be fairly straightforward as the data is all there.

I wouldn't know where to start if I were to code a script to do this though sadly.

So first off, you're going to need to learn how to make userscripts. Here's a quick guide, but honestly just look up "how to make userscripts" to find more ( http://www.techradar.com/news/internet/the-beginner-s-guide-to-greasemonkey-scripting-598247 )

Secondly, I went to some random persons favorites page and saw that this element contains the info you need:
<a class="thumb" href="link to actual image" title="image title by image author, month day, year in category > subcategory">(sub-element, nothing of interest)</a>

You need to make a userscript that searches for category and subcategory and highlights them. The finding and highlighting is easy, since I'm sure there's tons of open source scripts out there for that (or for something similar, so you can just copy out snippets), the only somewhat difficult thing is searching through the elements.

$a = "3";
And
$a = '3';
And
$a = 3;
In php?
Echo $a+$b; prints 7 in all three of them
>>

Forgot to add that $b is declared with "4", '4' and 4

Might be a stupid question, I'm a pleb with this stuff. Also posted to /spg/ (Don't hurt me)
Newfag here, can't find my phone's symptoms on Google.
2-3 days ago, gamma/contrast raised itself (can't even find a setting for it on my phone)
Day or so later, black bars appeared across the top then flickered and flashed until the app I was running was cut by a black screen below these lines.
Do I need to buy a new phone? Is there a fix that I can make myself?
Thanks /g/
Phone: Samsung Galaxy S III

it's a phone from 2012
people who were born in 2012 have better phones than that
these electronic devices are made to last around 3 years
bear in mind that you might need to change your phone around after that time because of planned obsolence

Hey /g/

I recently changed my laptop fan, and updated my GPU's driver shortly after.

Since then, the computer crashes and restart everytime I try to put it in hibernation, and also get some BOSD for no apparent reasons.

My question is : is it technically possible for the fan change to be responsible of those BOSD ? All of my temps are the same as before, if not cooler.

Here's the latest dump if that can help :

You don't need to change distro for that.
Get another desktop environment/windows manager. That's what's in charge of the GUI.

Don't know first-hand, but when I was younger it was moderately popular as a first language, especially for those interested in web design. It's got its flaws, but the experience shouldn't cause you to "shed tears" about it, certainly, especially in a classroom environment where an professor will be guiding your instruction.

Now, if your professor is terrible and doesn't teach good fundamentals, that's another matter all together.

If you are wanting one that will be completely charged after leaving it in a window for a day, then no.

The biggest benefits of portable batteries with solar charging are situations were you won't have access to outlets for an extended period (every little bit helps), and keeping the thing by a window after charging it so it will stay topped off on its own.

Sometimes when I've moved my PC and replugged my mouse in, it glitches out if I start moving it fast, with fast acceleration I mean. It makes the Windows USB unplugged sound and stops moving then. The weird thing is that this only occasionally happens when I've unplugged the mouse and computer, and a reboot sometimes fixes it.
The mouse is a G400, and I don't think the issue is with that but more likely with Windows 10. Any ideas what it could be and how to fix it?

g400 and g400s are some of the best mice ever made, but the QC was shitty to say the least, and they have a fairly frequent problem with the cord, it usually starts getting loose inside the mouse.
open it up, pull the cord half an inch into the mouse, wrap some tape around it so it doesn't move if you pull it, and put it back together.
the circuitry inside is very simple, your shouldn't have any problem.

Ah, for some reason I thought you were talking about one of the external batteries that have a solar charging function. If you're talking a larger solar charger (like those fold out ones that are about two feet long unfolded), then I've heard mixed reviews, but some are supposedly alright.

Many don't have any storage capacity, so you'd want to get a battery charger to pair it with if you want to store the charge.

With a bouncer, you're looking at either setting one up on your own hardware (say, a raspberry pi that's left on all day), setting one up on a shell account hosted elsewhere, or using one that someone else is running.

With that last one, you find one that offers free bouncers, request one, set up your client properly, and you're good to go. Remember that it's someone else's hardware and setup, so privacy is an illusion.
