the best manager is the one that meets your criteria, quit being a pussy and look them up and see what suits you

I'd personally say keepass but it has no browser plugin and sucks on android, lastpass/1password are both decent that don't have these problems but they're both proprietary trash

>and are there any good password generators that create really secure passwords under specific parameters?

they literally *all* do that, it's one of the defining features of a password manager

>>57169211

it's hot but not unreasonably so, I'd still make sure the fan/pump are working, that it's mounted correctly, that you haven't applied too much or too little thermal paste
>>
>>57169238
only when trying a heavy modded skyrim but that doesnt even push these temps. its borderlands presequel oddly.

>>57169277
i used the pre applied paste that i smeared over the cpu as i fucked up mounting it because the guide doesnt tell you which mounting screws are which. so seems like a wipe down and apply new paste at this point. oddly only one game has pushed these temps so theres that.

I've got a 32 gb SSD that I am going to put in my laptop (dual bay). Is there any reason why I shouldn't boot my OS from that and load all my programs on my other 1tb HDD? Or would it more beneficial to just put everything on the 1tb?

650w PSU or 750w for an extra $10 but I probably won't utilize the extra 100w?
>>
>>57169917
Can't be done.
>>
>>57169918
It depends on the efficiency, but the 750w PSU because you'll get more efficiency the closer you are to using half of it's rated wattage.
>>
>>57169923
Is there really nothing that could be done?
>>
>>57169932
wtf does that mean? Don't understand PSU efficiency.

Without OC my system uses like 500w on load, according to a PSU calculator. With regards to that what's the greater efficiency wattage capacity.
>>
>>57169954
Basically a PSU is most efficient around 50% load, but the difference shouldn't be more than 5%

Most of the time your system won't be at full load though. You wont ever need any more wattage unless you want to do multi gpu.
>>
>>57169971
So 650w or 750w?
Shiz is confusing
>>
>>57169983
650 unless you plan on doing SLI/Crossfire
>>
>>57169841
Why? So you have the option of canceling your order. If they took your money and then you decided to cancel before it shipped, then they'd have to send your money back, which would be a second monetary transaction, something they don't want to bother with for accounting and financial reasons. Instead it's easier and cheaper to just wait until the item ships before charging you.
>>
>>57169996
Nah that shiz is messy and I don't even think my mobo can support it.

Do plan on OC'ing however.
>>
I have usb 3.0 connections on my motherboard. I have two 3.0 cables for my front panel 3.0 ports. Why the fuck do the cables not fit inside the connections on the motherboard
>>
>>57169943
You could try desoldering the USB 2.0 ports and soldering on USB 3.0 ports, but that's fucking retarded and more than likely won't work.

If you can find a SATA to USB 3.0 (the DVD reader should be SATA compliant) or mPCIe to USB 3.0 adapter, go for it.

There's no guarantee it would work, though.

>>57169954
Look retard.

You see the 80 PLUS certification on the side of the PSU you're looking at? No? How about in the description? No? Then you're either a nigger who can't read, or you're beyond any help I can give you, or the PSU you're looking at is not 80 PLUS certified, and I would avoid it.

As for efficiency, there are several 80 PLUS certifications, ranging from 80+ to 80+ Titanium. After that, there are different efficiencies for the different loads.

For instance, if you're at 100% load, you shouldn't be using that thing in the first place, and the efficiency will not be as great as it would be at 50% load, where the greatest efficiency will be found, for example, a 80+ certified PSU at 50% load will have an efficiency equal or higher than the rated efficiency, let's say 82%, than at 100% load, let's say 78%. Therefore, it is better to have equipment that will draw about half the power of your prospective PSU.

Got it, retard?

Here's a link if you want more information: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/80_Plus

>What's the cheapest way to get internet service on an LG Volt? Nothing fancy, I just want to look up prices online when I'm shopping.
Depends on how much service you are looking to get. Ten bucks prepaid can get you a 90 day service period and 150 MB from airvoice wireless. Not much, but about the cheapest option I've seen that offers mobile data.

T-Mobile had a $30 a month plan that gives you unlimited text and data (5 GB at 4G speeds, rest reduced), and 100 talk minutes. Not sure if they still offer it.

If not, Virgin Mobile runs off Sprint's network, had has a $35 a month plan with unlimited talk, text, and data (5 GB of 4G). Pretty sure other MVNOs have comparible offers.

Wangblows SHOULD be detecting it as a generic hub. If not, check drivers.

You don't need a 750W PSU for single graphics card builds, your system wont overload a 500W PSU even with some overclocking.

You're obsessing over this way too much
Most of the time your computer is going to be sitting there drawing 100 watts on the lower end of the efficiency curve, the efficiency difference at higher loads isn't going to matter.
>>
>>57170601
I'd spend the extra money on quieter PSU like RM650x rather than more watts, but that's just my opinion.

Also pretty much what this >>57170672 anon said. Besides, electricity is really cheap and the differences are fairly marginal.

You're not going to realize the benefits of a quieter PSU without having additional "quiet" components - this means a quieter video card, quieter fans, and a quieter HSF. Therefore, this guy is a HUGE faggot.

In conclusion: JUST GET THE FUCKING 750W.

That being said, though, if there's a better PSU with the same or better modularity, efficiency, wattage, and/or noise level(s) for the same or a little bit over, then go for it!

> The G2 has an 'eco' mode that makes it fanless or something till it reaches a certain load.
That's correct. The fans don't spin until it hits 300 watts. The same thing occurs with what >>57170778 recommended.
> I'm using a stock CPU cooler anyway so that'll be louder I'd assume + my GPU has 3x fans.
You're correct on the former, but incorrect on the latter, fuckhead.
MOAR FANS =/= MOAR NOISE
Not necessarily, anyways.
Usually, more fans indicate less noise, because they don't have to do as much work versus a lower number of fans, which would have to spin faster (and generate more noise) in order to achieve the same effect.

Also,

Yeah, that'll be much louder than anything you stuff in there. Still you could upgrade it in the future for a quieter one.

>my GPU has 3x fans
That tells nothing about how loud it is. New asus strix 10xx cards are whisper quiet despite having three fans. Check the reviews for decibel values.

And as >>57170883 said a normal computer is at 40 dB, which is louder than EVGA PSU's. But if you pick quieter parts you might get down to 20-25 dB and at that point your PSU starts to matter.

>>57170875
They can contain non-standard code that abuses a security flaw in your viewer/player to execute random code. So it's not a flaw in pdf or mp3 file, but rather a flaw in the program reading it.

PDF files are notorious for these because they're complex and people usually read them with the official reader which means that virus programmers can target flaws in that program. MP3 files are simpler in design and played across many different players, making them much harder for injecting viruses.

>>57170938
Apparently it has a PCIe x16 slot so it should be fine. You might have difficulties fitting a full-sized card there though, it looks quite snug despite the size.

What on board graphics card?

Good Xeons don't come with integrated graphics, and you should be able to change the graphics output in BIOS if hooking up the monitor to the graphics card doesn't work (it should).

If it doesn't work in BIOS, try installing drivers.

Use Alt+1, 2, 3, 4 to hide UI elements in MPC-HC.

VLC normally feels sluggish, often has font cache issues that requires it to rebuild it, doesn't support external subtitle or video rendering, has worse 10-bit playback and has worse interpolation.

MPC-HC and mpv does everything VLC does, but VLC doesn't do everything MPC-HC or mpv does. It's simply the idiot's choice, since MPC-HC is equally accessible in terms of usage and aquiring, and is an objectively superior player.

Could be a faulty motherboard or some other part that causes your PSU to panic and shut down to prevent damage. These kind of problems are pretty hard to diagnose without throwing testing hardware into the case. If you have an integrated graphics card then unplug your main graphics card and test if the problem persists.

>Don't think it could be the powerline because I power my monitor from the same plug and that seems fine.
Yeah that should rule powerline issues out.

Bought the Arctic 120 Liquid Cooler for my pc and first time installing the pump, the 3 pin connector wasn't found in the BIOS (showed n/a) and didn't pump (one tube hot, other one cold). I plugged it into the chassis fan slot.

After unplugging the radiator from the CPU FAN slot and reinstalling the stock cooler, the pump began working and after installing it it worked fine for a month or two.

The problem has now re-emerged with a different motherboard where it worked first but suddenly stopped. I have no idea why the pump isn't pumping or being detected by the BIOS.

Any clues?

apparently the 770 has a pixel clock limit of 540MHz, so at 1920x1080 the vertical refresh rate limit would be;
(540*1000000)/(1920*1080)=260.416666667Hz
note: the actual limit will be a bit lower, as this does not take into account h/v blanking periods
