What smartwatch do you own? Pros/cons? I have a Pebble Time Steel and a LG G Watch but I prefer the PTS, longer battery, better readability under the sun, apps don't crash and I can use it on iOS/Android. Also Android Wear future is kind of shady, with Google delaying shit. I'll wait for Angelfish watch (Pixel Watch from Google, smaller one no LTE) to be released and decide. I am eager to buy a Pebble Time 2 when it hits the shelves. For those with Samsung Gear S2/S3, how do you like it? apps? watchfaces? cool stuff?
>>
pebble is feminine looking so I guess their target audience are Reddit users.

Depends, the Pebble Steel looks badass. And Black Pebble 2 looks good, better than the Time/Time Steel/Time 2.
I personally use a NATO strap and will get a carbon skin and screen protector.
Here is mine ATM: http://i.imgur.com/rSg9lnD.jpg
Have a look on /r/pebble (reddit duh) because some customized watches do look good.

Compared to what? My perfect smartwatch would be a color e-ink Pebble Steel because Pebble Steel is the best looking smartwatch IMO (maybe reduce the beel a bit)
>>
>>57082959
Pebble TIME STEEL (2015) does not have screen tearing fortunately only Pebble OG and Pebble Steel

I still have the first gen Moto 360, used it a shit ton on exames with notes... the battery life sucks hard. Sometimes it last a whole day, than only 3 hours. Also if any kind of update happens or some App starts to go full retard it gets hot as fuck...

Sadly Moto said fuck this to smartwatches and i do not get any updates.
>>
>>57082445

I have a Time Round right noe and I absolutely love it. The low battery life (2-3 days) is absolutely terrible though.

I love the new Pebble 2 design, but the Time 2 looks terrible to me.

If only the 2 was color...

Will probably wait for a Round 2.
>>
>>57082655
What do you use it for? Do you really need weather on it?
>>
Nobody could ever explain to me the use case for these gimmicks
>>
>>57083959
Anyone?
>>
>>57084280
Depends, really. I'm a teacher and being able to check texts and emails without picking up my phone is pretty nice. I also prefer a vibration-based alarm to a sound-based alarm to wake up (and sometimes in the classroom), and the microphone inside the later Pebble models can be convenient for voice commands in certain situations.

Those features aren't appealing to everyone, though.

I also had the Time Round, made the stupid choice of 14MM and returned it within a week, battery life was 2 days, what a joke! My PTS lasts me a full 7 days (brightness MED, ambient on, backlight on, motion off, timeout 5 seconds).

Yes, got the LG G Watch when it was released (late 2014) used it for two years and then got the Pebble Time Steel and Round, returned the Round and now only use the Steel. The G Watch is collecting dust. If Google's Pixel small watch has something outstanding like 5 days battery life or usable NFC for pay/tasker and GPS all under 199$ then its a instant buy.

There are some rumors but Evan Blass (evleaks, legit leaker) posted that the two watches were on track for Q1 2017: https://twitter.com/evleaks/status/786665339652157440

Most people that choose Pebbles are willing do to such tradeoff, for me sleep tracking, 7 day battery life and e-ink > MUH PIXELS

30-day+ battery life on this puppy, less than $15 shipped

I have a Mi Band 2 myself, but I only use it for time, notifications and sleep tracking.
>>
>>57087142
Nice, but why do you use the Pebble then? Do you switch off or something?

I wish the 2 were more elegant looking. I like the 1 because of his simple, small, and understated it is.

great products anyway
>>
>>57087173
15$ is very tempting, I always wanted a xiaomi smartwatch
>>
>>57087196
I bought two from gearbest for $12 shipped each, but shipping took 30+ days on one of the orders and the charger it came with was broken.

I'd probably buy from amazon for $20ish just for the nice return policy if they've still got the mi band 1.

It's not really a smart watch, it's just a simple sleep tracker, phone notifications (vibrate), step counter.
dat battery life though

I love it.
>>
I love my Pebble Time, I have a Pebble Time 2 on preorder from Kickstarter that I'm waiting for... supposed to ship in November.

The Time 2 basically adds a heart rate sensor (which might give some interesting data) and removes the fuckhueg ugly bezel that the prior model had. For me, this fixes all problems with the watch. I use it as a way to filter notifications from my phone basically to decide if I should pick it up or get it out of my pocket. If that's what you expect from a watch, I think you'll love the Pebble. 5-7 day battery life with many notifications, up to ten days with fewer notifications.

I don't like other smartwatches like the Apple Watch. Daily charging is a dealbreaker, NFC payment is not that interesting to me, touch input is a joke compared to real buttons for the screen size, most of the apps on smartwatches are just awkward to use compared to pulling the phone out and using that.
>>
>>57087245
does since4pass stay in your options (cached) or no? It doesn't on my end

Couldn't agree more, I don't really like the touch input on the G Watch, with Pebble just glance and press middle to dismiss notification or back to ignore. I'll wait for what Google has to offer and then decide between PT2 and Pixel watch. Pic for comparison.

I agree with you for the most part but many of them have alternate input, like the AW has a digital dial
>>
>>57087300
>digital dial
what? You mean a button? Moto 360 uses it to turn theater mode on or off, turn screen on. Gear S2 and Gear S3 (tizen) do have a digital dial
>>
>>57087293
It doesn't cache in the options. If you want it to stay on all the time, if you use 4chan X you can go to
Settings -> Advanced -> Quick Reply Personas
and then put a line like the below without the # in front of it. For example:

options:"since4pass";boards:g,v,ck;always

Would pre-fill since4pass in the options field for /g/, /v/, and /ck/.
>>
>>57087314
>what? You mean a button? Moto 360 uses it to turn theater mode on or off, turn screen on. Gear S2 and Gear S3 (tizen) do have a digital dial
No, it's got a digital crown (the thing on the side of normal watches) that acts like a scroll wheel type thing, and (yes) it also clicks as a button

>>57087315
thanks for the info sir

I got a polar v800. Not really a smart watch but it has smartphone notifications. I'm more after the 14 hours GPS tracking for my 400km rides and triathlon competitions and the training programs it offer.
>>
>>57082959
You can fix it by taking it apart and putting dielectric grease on the contact points for the zebra strips. I tried many fixes but none worked, so i did this and 6months later not even a hint of screen tearing.
>>

I want one for the sole purpose of music. I want to have the watch read my phone and display controls like volume, next track, etc. and album art. Also the ability to browse your music on it without taking out your phone but sadly it does not exist.
>>
>>57089188
My LG G Watch can do that with Spotify App or Google Play Music, you can have all controls (play, pause, nexttrack, prev, voldown, volup). Pebble you need MusicBoss or similar to do all of that, and Pebble 2 is 99$, G Watch is around 50$
