I dig. What if i said fuck my price range and got an i7 processor and an 8gb graphics card?

Guess you get better hardware.. then?

i7 would be a waste of money. Get a decent i5 instead and use the leftover money to buy a SSD instead. Combine that with a rx 470/480 and you have a pretty decent midrange build. Might also want to throw 20-30 dollars into a processor cooler too.

Bought NBA 2k17 today and realized my PC is due for a overhaul when i could only run smooth fps on all low settings

Current specs

>athlon ii x4 640
>biostar a860 am3
>16gb ram
>Radeon HD 6670

My monitor is 1360x768

What's the most cost effective way to be able to play 2k17? Is just dropping in a rx 470 an option or will my cpu hold it back?

Getting a rx 470 should be a decent upgrade on its own, you shouldn't need a new processor. But if you decide to buy one then that'll mean buying a new motherboard to, probably even new ram sticks too.

What do you tink is or will be your budget?

just wanted to say quick thanks to ppl in this thread. been lurking and taking notes and asking questions and I've eliminated major problem I had: heat.

my CPU would go over 50C when browsing and playing music and would go to 80+ when doing ffmpeg encoding.

after working on my cooling, i'm now in comfy low 30s when playing videos and playing music... and in 40s when encoding. and it's now very quiet.

my next project will be managing cables... its' a fucking mess. any tips on how to do cable management? I have so many fucking wires that I've stacked in the space between the DVD burner and the HDD... which is probably not a good thing.

I made this thing back around 2012 and its been humming along just fine, but Its starting to have its drawbacks. I am looking for simply better performance in gaming (I play a good deal of Arma3) and run a second monitor full time. I haven't been in the tech world for at least 3 years, what would be a meaningful upgrade? What would other gaming anons recommend?
>>
>>57005734
Ok that's extremely limited. In that case just do what >>57005625 said and get a new GPU.
If you don't play newer or more demanding games you should manage with the Athlon CPU and focus on upgrading your graphics.
Look into the RX cards and 1060. For example you could get this card if your PSU knows how to feed it:
http://pcpartpicker.com/product/f9cMnQ/sapphire-radeon-rx-480-4gb-nitro-4g-video-card-11260-02
>>
>>57005659
There's nothing special about it, just a bunch of zip ties and some time. Might be easiest to just pull them all out and place them back one by one rather than trying to untangle them as is. You probably won't see any difference in temperatures but it'll be aesthetically pleasing.
>>
Anyone have any idea which aftermarket gtx 1080 is the best?
>>
>>57005827

Cheers lad, sounds reasonable.
>>
>>57005870
No problem, just check for compatibility and if your PSU can feed a newer card.
>>
>>57005554
I feel your pain, but slightly less so, I'm running a phenom ii 1090t and an hd 6870. Haven't been playing games as much recently though so for my next build I'm looking at Kaby Lake i7 + SSD and maybe some small form factor case.
>>
>>57005862
Best for what? Best for overclocking? Best value? Best aio cooling?

Asus, MSI and Gigabyte all have really good high-end variants, can't go wrong picking any of those.
>>
>>57005852
>There's nothing special about it, just a bunch of zip ties and some time. Might be easiest to just pull them all out and place them back one by one rather than trying to untangle them as is. You probably won't see any difference in temperatures but it'll be aesthetically pleasing.
thanks. my biggest motivation for tying them up is that I'm afraid one of them might get caught in the fan blades.

>>

>>
>>57005826
Pretty much just the GPU
if you have a decent cooler on that i5 you can OC it pretty high and keep up with todays stuff well enough
>>
>>57005941
Get a new graphics card and a SSD and it should be fine. 2500k is still surprisingly good if you overclock it, I'd at least wait for Intel's next generation of processors.
>>
>>57005944

rx 470, gtx 1060 6gb, rx 480. Look at prices of those three in your country.

I'm looking for a good case for a small build that I can take to school for the week and bring back home on the weekends (I have a dedicated spot at school with monitors).

I've been eyeing this one: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/6htWGX/silverstone-case-sstml08bh

Any suggestions?
>>
>>57006151
You sure you don't want a laptop bro? Dragging a PC back and forth every week sounds awful.

But it should be easy, just go through mITX cases until you find something that suits you. If you need space for full-sized graphics card then it gets trickier but still it's not that hard.
>>
>>57004903
>Can I get some objective opinions on how important the PSU is?
If a component dies, it dies on its own
If a (shitty) psu dies, it may fry the mobo, maybe ram and even graphic card as well.
>>
is it true that Nvidia has more stable framerates than AMD?

How do I ensure buttery smooth framerates in games for my build? Microstutter and sudden drops drive me crazy.
>>
>>57006283
What kind of monitor are you using? Hardware syncing can help but if you're at 1080p, AMD vs nvidia doesn't matter too much
>>
>>57006239
Haha I just really don't like laptops. Moving a computer isn't too bad if you have everything else already set up at both places and it's only once a week.
>>
I replied to a few posts from the old threads

>>57003848
Don't buy the 960. Logicalincrements has been dragging its ass on graphics cards; or just doesn't understand value but loves 'tiers' even though that they suggest retarded builds.

You want to wait two weeks for the 1050Ti. Buy the 4GB version the moment it comes out (avoiding price hikes) and you'll be fine.

You need an i3 6100. Way better single core performance and you'll have an upgrade path. The 8320 is on AM3+, a dead socket.

Here's a build for you
http://pcpartpicker.com/user/pcbg/saved/#view=Jhyf7P
You might want to consider buying an OCZ SSD (check other builds for the link). Personally I think SSDs are awesome. You can't live without one once you've had it.

>>57004064
Either get the 1050 or 1050Ti. They're coming out in two weeks. Check the rumor mills. Both the 950 and 960 suck.

>>57004247
As the other anon said, SSD and new video card. 470/480/1060

>>57004760
If you really want to try this wait for a few months for the Zen APUs called Raven Ridge. They'll be fucking awesome. You'll probably get to play a lot of PS3/360 era games without a discrete graphics card at 1080p.
>>
>>57004849
That APU is probably stronger than your dedicated graphics

>>57004869
Yeah, you can drop in a 470. Make sure your PSU has either a 6 pin or 6+2pin PCIe power connector, then buy a card that needs only that. The 470 will probably suffer from the CPU bottleneck, making it partially worthless unless you're considering upgrading your mobo+CPU.

Personally since that's an old CPU I'd get the 1050 or 1050Ti, which as I've stated like 50 times, are coming out in less than 2 weeks. The RX460 is also an option if you have the PCIe power connectors. If your PSU doesn't have those power connectors, you can pop in the 1050 and it'll run without them by drawing all its power through the mobo.

TL;DR Basically get the 1050Ti if you have the money (and any required power connectors), otherwise get the 1050, which are coming out at the middle of this month.

>>57004903
Personally I'd make sure to get an 80+ PSU with x2 6+2pin PCIe power connectors. If you're planning to keep it for a while (through a couple builds) you might consider a Gold PSU.

>>57004954
Swap 1080 for 1070. Don't forget the VR "target" is the 970/290, which are weaker than the 1060 / 470.
If you want a 1440p 144Hz monitor too I'd suggest waiting for the 1080Ti in Jan.
>>
>>57006512
I am updating the guide now. Will be here soon for feedback.
>>
>>57006283
>is it true that Nvidia has more stable framerates than AMD?
Yes, but that's mostly with AMD's old cards on older DX11 games. Now AMD and NVIDIA are neck and neck.

R8 my budget build.

Re-adjusted my black gray silver theme.

The plan is to eventually upgrade the cpu later down the road to an i5 and get a kraken memecooler when I want to overclock. And at the same time, complete the a e s t h e t i c.

http://pcpartpicker.com/list/GDBLyf

And no. I don't need a fucking 240gb SSD. Stop spreading that meme.

Graphics card is a little debatable since a 50 dollar extra investment for a $250 6GB 1060 might be better especially for future proofing and also better performance. So I may change that. Thoughts?
>>
>>57006640
You want your games on the SSD, so 120GB is cramped. If you can't spend an extra $20 to get 240GB, reevaluate your life choices.

If you're going with Nvidia the 6GB 1060 is probably the better option.
>>
I'm building a computer mostly to edit video in premiere, but also for vidya, what do you think of my build?

http://pcpartpicker.com/list/Vsgn2R
>>
>>57006640
I'd spend a few bucks more on a non-blower card to get better temps and quieter fans.

If you want to overclock a CPU then you need a Z170 motherboard in addition to a K-branded processor.
>>
>>57006696
I have a habit of uninstalling games when I don't play them for a while so I never have more than 5 at a given time. If absolutely need more space, I'll just buy another one for 30 bucks. The Price difference from a 120 to a 240 is about 25 bucks. May as well buy another when I need it.

It's a cost that is not needed. A cost that I can use for peripherals
>>
>>57006710
>1.1 thousand dollar build
>no SSD
>>
>>57006696
Fuck a 240GB. Go 500 /1Tb or go home.
Bought one and while I'm making due with having 1 or 2 AAA games on it at a time I wish I'd thrown down another 50/60 for the 500Gb
>>
Anyone have experience with the rosewill capstone psu? Are they reliable?
>>
>>57006730
I like the blowers personally. I know it would be ideal to get a non blower but I don't really need it. Temps won't be ridiculous since the case itself has a lot of air flow.

Though I may reconside when I finally make The purchase.
As far as the CPU I definitely do not intend to overclock any time soon. That i3 is a beast right now but I will later once I upgraded to an i5 and a memecooler. ( and a mobo that'll handle it)
>>
>>57006754
I already have a 128gb one, aside from that what would you change?

>>
>>57006852
Founder's edition. Binned as fuck and look sexy.
>>
>>57006800
Well the case is tacky, but if you're fine with that then it's fine. It's otherwise a good build if video editing is your main focus. Downgrading to i5 and using the money on a better graphics card would give you better gayming performance but make it worse for video stuff
>>

Asus rog strix, MSI gaming z or one of those tri-fan gigabytes.

>>

I'm still using this board, originally because of the abundance of rear usb and I was running a 3 570's so I wanted something with active cooling so the south bridge wouldn't melt.

You can get much better for much less now. You'd need to update (both) the bios to run recent 2011 cpu's and you shouldn't settle for having sata2 on such an expensive board. Plus it's DDR3 only, no usb3 type c, no dual lan/onboard wireless, no m.2 on board, no sata express or a bunch of other more modern features you'd expect on a workstation board.

TL;DR: It's old and outdated, don't buy.

When it comes to deciding between two things, first start by making a mental list of what you think is most important to you, and how well each thing fits that. What do you want most out of a mobo? Looks, cost-effectiveness, overclockability, more/faster RAM, certain features? It's hard to tell you what is gonna be better for you if we have no idea what you want out of it.

That said, pcpp has a good part comparison tool.

Core2Duo E4500 @ 2.2 Ghz,
2 GB DDR2 533 Mhz RAM,
1280x1024 @60 Hz monitor,
Asus P5GZ-MX mobo,
Windows 7 preferred.

My aim is to play NFS MW (2005) at full resolution @60fps and play my other old games (pic related) easily.

>>57008831
Unless you're planning on having two graphics cards in there 500W is good enough you. Even under heavy load it wont drain morea than 400-450W. Get something like Corsair RM550x if you want a good modular PSU.

A high end gaming PC draws about ~300W under full load and ~100W in desktop use. You only need a large PSU if you plan on using SLI or Crossfire both of which are a bad idea.

Thanks heaps guys, I've been wracking my brain for hours over this. I'm total entry level so this is all quite overwhelming. What do you think I should swap out next? I have no idea about my CPU and how it stands up
>>
>>57008912
What sort of setup are you going for? If this is for browsing and stuff then toss that gt 630 in a bin and buy a new CPU with a decent integrated graphics. That'll however mean buying new motherboard and ram too.

So I built a PC a couple months ago and now that I've moved into my halls I have discovered that the wiring is so shit that turning on/off the light actually fucks with all of my peripherals - keyboard & mouse & lights will all flicker, stop working, etc.
Worse than that though; I've woken up today to green pixels all over the screen, all over youtube videos, even in video games.
This isn't just a shitty VGA adapter issue, the pixels move with the game perfectly and will often only show up on specific materials or areas - I had the dust 2 B doors covered in little red dots like someone had actually gone into the files and fucked the textures themselves.
Anyone know what could be fucked? I'm guessing the graphics card, but the real question is can I fix it or is it easier to just try to milk my uni for money?
>>
>>57008638
With respect to the loop, would it be better to put a res/pump combo in the 5.25 bay; a res in the 5.25 bay and a pump beneath it; or remove the 5.25 bay entirely and put the pump/res in between the front rad and the mobo tray?
>>
>>57008951
Well then a proper GPU should be your main priority right now. Something along the lines of RX 470 or gtx 1060 6GB. If that is too much then RX 460 is a solid option and gtx 1050 is rumoured to be released to that price range in coming weeks.

A new CPU would be nice too but it's not your main concern right now, you should be able to last a year or two easily with that thing you have. It would mean buying a new motherboard and memory so it's not as money efficient as a new GPU would be.

>>57008980
You cant really fix it, so you'll have to get new parts. The unstable power current has damaged your computer parts, the pixels suggest a damaged graphics card at least. It's your uni's fault for having shoddy wiring so you could try to milk them for money and have them pay for electrican to look at the issue.

At the very least you should invest in a cheap surge protector. If you have more cash then a uninterruptible power supply would protect you too.
>>
>>57009053
The GTX 1060 looks pretty good to me and it's a good price too. Would I need a Cooler at all?
>>
>>57009053
Thanks a lot man, I'll look into getting them to pay for whatever's fucked.
I'm amazed that any wiring could be so fucking awful that it damages the components in my PC
>>
>>57009200
CPU cooler? Well if that picture you posed is idle or normal browsing then 48 celsius is too high in my opinion. I'd suggest something like ID-Cooling SE-214X or Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO if those fit inside your case.

Hard to say anything about airflow and cooling in general without knowing which case you have and how the fans are positioned.

1060 3GB, 1060 6GB, 1070. Pick the one you can afford with your monopoly money. If you're considering the 3gb version then you could wait a few weeks to see if 1050ti is better.

rx 480 or gtx 1060 6gb, 3gb is not worth it.

With these cars you have to look at your favorite games and compare benchmarks and see which game gets the highest fps and buy that one.

Example: RX 480 gets 5-10fps more than the gtx 1060 and the gtx 1060 gets more fps in battlefield than the rx 480, etc etc

You could try upgrading to a phenom 1090t.but I doubt you'd be able to find one for a decent price. Your best bet is to do a complete new build. If you're tight on money you could run something like an fm2+ system with an 870k. Get a decent aftermarket cooler and clock it to somewhere around 4.5ghz. But you're going to see serious bottlenecks putting a modern card in with that cpu. If you're hell bent on doing as little upgrading as possible, just get an rx 460. It'll be a significant upgrade to your current gpu and only cost you 120$.

Hell a used 7970 or 280x would be a huge upgrade for you. 6670 wasn't even a mainstream card for its time, bud.

I've seen footage of Arma 3 with a 980ti barely able to get playable framerates on ultra. That game is such a fucking disaster it's not even funny. Most cost effective solution is a new beefy gpu, and a good cooling solution to overclock the piss out of that little i5.

>>57006050
Recently seen some highlights of the xfx rx 480 gtr. To the best of my knowledge it's the only 480 with a custom pcb, runs cool, sips power, overclocks very well, and stock for stock is probably the best performing 480 on the market. It's going to cost upwards to 300USD though. But seen a bench with it clocked at 1475mhz where it performed within 5% of the Sapphire nitro+ fury in firestrike. Fucking bonkers.

Any reputable brand will be using a variant of the Laing ddc or d5 pump which are cream of the crop small form factor industrial grade pumps. Reservoirs are primarily an asthetics deal, they also have the benefit of easier filling, usually an extra outlet for draining, and increasing the loops thermal capacity. But it doesn't really matter what size it is. People used to make loops with just a stretch of extra hose that worked identically to an actual res.
>>
>>57010002
Ah thats why you can adjust the fan speed and whatnot, I see now. How does Corsair fair against EVGA PSUs? The EVGA superNOVA G2 750W is the same price as the 650i

Corsair one is quieter and has a 0 RPM mode which means the fan will only start spinning at 40% load. So if you're willing to pay extra for less noise then go for corsair.

Don't sink that much money into a PSU unless you really need the extra watts for some crazy build. Corsair RM550x is high quality, nearly silent and it's more than enough for any single-GPU build. Extra money will not give you a single additional fps or anything like that. Spend it on better processor or graphics card.

Just a few adjustments:
1. You're going kinda overkill with the PSU, 550 watts is more than enough. Get the Corsair RM550x, gold rated and gives you more than enough juice

ASUS Radeon R7 250 OC 2GB
MSI Radeon RX 460 OC 2GB

EVGA GeForce GTX 750Ti 2GB
ASUS GeForce GTX 950 STRIX OC 2GB

I think I'll buy the 4k now and a 1080p 144hz in a month or two. Then a new GPU next march, hopefully Vega or the new nvidia stuff can handle it.

Current build is i3 6100/2133 ddr4/1060. Upgrading to a 6700k(higher clocks than 6600k so I don't have to buy a z170, i5+z170 is the same price as the i7) and using it in my b150 board for now.

Looking for advice on what CPU/mobo to get, and if you notice anything else weird or off, feel free to let me know.

http://pcpartpicker.com/list/g4h7wV

I use Photoshop, Ableton, and Audacity a lot, watch BD rips of chinese cartoons in MPC, and plan to use Premier in the future. I don't vidya too much right now but may get back into it in the future (so I'm also stuck between the 970 and the 1070).

I'm not too bothered about futureproofing with Skylake shit since I'm adamant on running Win7 and I know the best benchmark results will be on Win10 and Win7 might eventually be phased out, so I'm more or less just looking for the best I can buy right now without getting into Xenon territory.

Specifically am looking between the 5820K, 6600K, and 6700K, but if there's anything better than those three for my purposes, I'm open to suggestions.
>>
>>57015428
You can but you should just keep it and let it sit in the shelf as punishment for not checking compatibility

You are all fucking idiots. Buy used i7 optiplex/precision, buy gtx 1070, buy ssd, done.

no point in buying a 970 at that price. either get something cheaper like a 1060 or AMD 470/460 or get a decent card like 480 or 1070.

also tweaked some other stuff like RAM and cooler.
http://pcpartpicker.com/list/m8zZQV

as to 6800k vs 5820k you'll have to look at benchmarks for the programs you use yourself. also check if your programs have gpu acceleration or not that could also help you choose.

Sounds alright, but remember you're buying old tech with less features, no warranty, is slightly hotter and uses more power. If you think saving $150 is worth the compromise, go for it.

If your budget is high enough to get an i7 you can spend another $100 to get a decent cooler and better GPU. If not you might aswell get a $100 GPU and use that until you decide to get a gaming GPU

My PC is getting old and loud, nd my gfx card just shit the bed.

I mainly use it for browing and gaming - mainly cs:go and smash bros melee neytplay but I also fuck around with music production with Ableton Live and also editing videos in Adobe Premier and editing images in Photoshop. Also want to start streaming because I saw a melee tourney and now want to be mang0

I have a decent power supply, dvd-rw, kb/mouse and alright monitor.

I need : -
A case with good front panel ideally, nothing fancy, budget ideally
mobo
CPU
graphics card
SSD for windows/apps. I have 64ish gig SSD that is constantly full that I could now use use just for games and a decent HDD for storage.

I'm totally out of the loop with architecture e.t.c.

IN THE UK

Budget is £300-500 brexits dependent on whats worth it.

Currently running an Intel Core i5-200K 3.3 with the now dead Radeon HD 6870

Advice on mobo/cpu arhcitecture and mid gfx?

Evening /g/.

I need your help with something for the next few moments because I have to get this stuff done today.

I need to buy a Mouse and a hardrive. I have around $150 left so I need to make good use of it. I already have a 1TB hardrive so want maybe something with 500gb just to install a new Operating system on it. (It's WD 3.0 SATA) And a new gaming mice, I have also a The Logitech G9x gaming mousebut saldy won't be able to get another one it looks like and I'm kinda outdated on what to get.

It reads fine for like a day then gets frozen on a number. It will go above this number but never below even though I know it is lower. A restart will fix it or usually a driver update fixes it but it usually happens again?

60 might be a tad low, try to find one at 75hz. Most reviews show the 1070 GTX getting around 75 fps on modern games at 1440p.
>>
>>57019040
But with a 75Hz monitor without sync, the second it drops to 74Hz the whole game is gonna look like laggy shit.
And a 1070 drops below 75Hz at 1440p in multiple situations.
60 CONSTANT fps looks great at it is, unless you're absolutely 100% sure you'll be getting over 75fps pretty much all of the time, 60hz would be safer and smoother
>>
>>57019111
That only happens if you have Vsync enabled which is fucking pointless to do if your FPS is around the refresh rate. 74 fps on a 75hz screen with Vsync turned off is not going to cause a laggy shitfest.

>>
>>57019191
Sync makes those times below 75Hz better, but don't tell me that 74fps on a 75Hz screen won't look like shit because it's the same reason why 59fps looks like shit on a 60Hz screen
>>
>>57019220
>It's four screws. Are you retarded?
I don't want screws. I wanted those anti-vibration thingies.
It was hard to install because my case can be opened from one side only. it was next to impossible to stick my fingers into the small space on the other side and pull that silicon thingy. it was slippery and impossible to grasp. I also cut up my hand in several spots trying to do it. I had to ask a neighbor of mine who's a physician for small curved forceps and then I finally managed to do it.

use money saved to get an i5. Sure, you'll get higher fps with the 1060 than 480/470, but plenty of games will get unplayable fps if you dont have 4 cores.

>>57019274
The fuck you talking about? Vsync makes it WORSE. Vsync is only an improvement to prevent screen tearing caused by a higher fps count than your refresh rate. Turning on Vsync when you can't even reach fps above the refresh rate is retarded. To prevent having to deal with tearing from too high FPS or stuttering caused by dips in low FPS you want to have an FPS that is near the refresh rate so you can turn Vsync off. That's why the 75hz screen is perfect for the 1070 GTX with its near 75 fps in modern games. Yes, sometimes the FPS will go down or below 75 but because the differences aren't too big, at max 5 frames, you won't see any real suttering or tearing.
>>
>>57019414
5 frames drop in the midst of constant fps is kind of a really big deal
And I'm talking about monitor/GPU, Hz/FPS hardware sync, g sync or freesync not licking the fps to 60
>>
>>57019455
Gsync is a fucking meme, unless the FPS keeps making huge drops from 60 to say 24 you wont see any benefit from it. A slight hick from 75 to say 72 is too small for the Gsync tech to have any meaningfull impact.
And unless you're pumped up on adderall during your gaming session you REALLY wont notice a drop from 75 to 70 fps for 2 seconds.

If you mean the 2500K, just OC to about 4.4GHz. Change out your thermal paste, clean the cooler, or buy a decent one if you need to. You may run into problems streaming with the i5, but with CSGO I think you'll be fine.

The 64GB SSD can be used for the OS only. Get a 250GB for games. Grab a 2TB HGST for storage.

>>57018072
Yes the 1070 can do 1440p ultrawide. If you get the Gsync monitor you'll be on easy street. Ultrawides are pretty nice except for movies though.

If you really want to take advantage of 144Hz wait for the 1080Ti coming out in January. It'll be a huge performance boost over the 1070 with better price/perf than the 1080.

You don't know what told means, faggot. Anyway even if we're taking current reference prices, the 480 is significantly more than 10% (try 30%) more expensive. So actually you got told because you're suggesting a 30% premium for a 10% increase in performance.

TOLD

1440p is not a standard. The next standard will be 2160p (4K).

A 4TB drive is clearly a storage drive. High RPM is really only that much better for seeking. Transfer speeds aren't really that different. Here's a drive that has had its sisters tested by blackblaze
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA4UM3102206
Unfortunately you can't search blackblaze tables, but it's easy enough to find the sister model if you want to.

Holy shit, you're a retard.

>>57019842
Get a 240GB SSD for $60.
Break RAM up into x2 4GB kit.

>>57019844
Pretty much anything will do, but I use Arctic Silver.

Can anyone build me a GPU passthrough compatible Build? Preferably AMD.

I am stuck with all these incopatible hadwares
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_IOMMU-supporting_hardware

>>57020249
I don't have any experience with that, but from that list it looks like you can use Skylake CPUs and an AMD graphics card.

Boot and resume from sleep or hibernate. And do anything Windows needs to do, like integrate updates. Or when you have to scan files for malware your clearly dumb ass downloaded.

Again, you're retarded, just like your posting style.

It's better to go with the same brand (e.g., Gigabyte) for RMA / tech support purposes, but you definitely don't want an AMD CPU right now. You'd have to wait for Zen to get anything worthwhile.

Intel + AMD is no problem, and in fact AMD tests their cards on Intel CPUs because theirs are so bad.
>>
Any suggestions?
Already own a graphics card

I have no idea why a wifi adapter should have to cost that much. iirc I've seen some in builds here that cost 10 or 20 bucks.

Looks pretty good for a budget build, although depending on your GPU that PSU might be a bit overkill. If the wattage works out, try bumping down the power rating and get something with a better efficiency rating.

Meme-free ITX build incoming.

Get a cheaper power supply, grab a 120gb or 240gb SSD. Check that the H7 and that particular video card will fit into the Nano S. Everything else is thumbs up from this anon.
>>
>>57020773
Is not having 16GB of RAM falling under the meme-free statement because everyone who does gaming builds does it or was that just you cheaping out?
>>
>>57020856
You really don't need 16 Gigabytes of RAM for gaming. Every game that doesn't have a shit port released in 2016 only requires 8.
>>
>>57017401
Install crystaldiskinfo/mark and cpuz
Check for drives anomalies, test their speeds and stress cpu with cpuz.
Open case and see if theres unused ram slots and ports. Check if those unused slots still working
Thats all i know

Just get the RX-460.

I'm pretty sure PowerColor has a 90 buck 2GB model and a 104 Buck 4GB model on Newegg right now.

Ok, question for any of you with experience in this matter. I'm currently piecing together plans for a custom liquid cooling setup. Problem is, I'm not well versed in brand quality when it comes to cooling components. Anyone have any recommendations for parts, brands to look/watch out for, and general tips one would find useful?

Thanks in advance.
>>
>>57020618
Get a bigger SSD, 240GB is the sweet spot.
Change to a B150 mobo (same price), otherwise you won't be able to upgrade your RAM without first selling your x2 4GB kit.
HGST HDD like everyone has been saying
Get a 500W or greater PSU with x2 6+2pin

>>57020662
>I have no idea why a wifi adapter should have to cost that much
That one can use 2.4GHz or 5GHz bands

>>57020773
Use liquid cooling to effectively vent the OC heat
Need a 240GB SSD
Like the other anon said, you only have two RAM slots, so get x2 8GB
