You should have bought two Dell P2416D's.
They lag same picture controls (gamma control for starters) as those PB258Q's, but have better default configuration, less input lag and backlight can be dimmed to 20 candelas lower. Plus, they are cheaper even without sale. And they don't have that fugly 'bezeless' design with 1cm black line surrounding the panel.

That 'bezelless' design is fugly, because it makes subjective black levels worse. Its best to have matte white, gray or black (in that order) 'real' bezels, with at least 1,5cm thickness.
Of course, if you are going for eye straining multimonitor setup, you probably don't care about such.

T420s and T61. Got them both for very cheap. The T61 is actually surprisingly capable, it can run full HD video breaking no sweat and because it's running Arch with no DE it can do pretty much everything the T420s can. But the T420s came with an onboard 3G modem and I got it for $100 under normal price so I had to buy it. Both run SSDs so they work fast.

T61 is designated to run more experimental things, it's what I use to learn linux shit and the T420s originally was to run windows for it just werks reasons but I got fed up with windows really slowing up the performance so I installed Arch + XFCE4 on it. It's not even placebo, where youtube 1080@60 was barely running at 30-40 fps with Windows 7, it's running 60fps without a dip with Arch. Thinkpads absolutely love Arch Linux.

The biggest reason is just that there's not a lot of demand for them. The vast majority of the computer using population, asked about monitor arms, would be bewildered and ask you if you knew that most monitors come with a stand.

When people do demand monitor arms, they usually want posability, which means moving readily and easily when you need it, and holding stable otherwise. A balancing act that requires a certain amount of engineering acumen and testing.

Again, a side effect of low demand is that the ones that do get made are relatively premium. They should be will built and last through many monitors.

I kind of want to drill through the desk surface behind my keyboard so I can pass my keyboard and mouse cables down through it, instead of trailing them off behind the monitor. Fix it dude, theres a third party ac unit you can install in it just for vendors like yours you may have to actually so some cutting and metal grinding and painting but that machine is mostly mechanical theres not much there to get "fixed" other than the coin mech its a great project and you get to have long neck bottles cold in your room.

It's not that bad. The monitors being in the corners is the biggest problem. The acoustic treatment foam helps alot and I have the "acoustic space control" switch at -4dB on the monitors, so the low end isn't overwhelming even though they're in the corner.

Not perfect, I know it, but probably the best I can do with the space, knowledge and money that I have.

The room is pretty big and the ceiling is higher on the other side of the room, but I also have to fit my bed, couch and tv here and the room is a bit odd shaped, so this was pretty much the only place I could fit the desk.
