It's utterly pointless. If you don't want that stuff in mainline Enterprise, you can remove it and still enjoy feature updates. The next LTSB isn't going to be until either 2018 or 2019, by which time the other versions will have moved on dramatically.

There aren't even any privacy benefits. All the botnet is still in place. The underlying Cortana systems are still there in SearchUI. Literally all that's removed is the user-facing personal assistant aspect, which you can just disable via Group Policy on standard Enterprise anyway.

Thank you, based Lenovo. my ideapad came with w10 home, but my license key works with all editions. Tested with every edition, ISOs straight from M$. All activate without a hitch.

Only thing I can think of is maybe Lenovo included a "generic" key because some businesses buy ideapads for their employees and it's just easier to charge them for the physical media for enterprise upgrades than having the companies send in every machine they want to upgrade to have a new license key embedded.

You also have Sticky Notes, more consistent UI (pic related is LTSB 2016 with horrendously huge context menus, two of them actually, some are regular size, crap UAC prompt..) Also Search in 2016 to me seems broken, it can't find CPanel items that I know they exist, like mouse settings. There are also some bugs after the Anniversary Update like: installation failures, disappearing disks, and frozen network shares. LTSB 2015 seems like a more robust product to me. Personally I use 7 but I have both 10 LTSBs in a VM. You really don't gain anything going from LTSB 2015 to 2016 but more headaches, more garbage like 3D Builder LEFTOVERS, worse performance in some cases (the ram compression thingy that many reported), etc..
