2.26 GHz C2D, maxed it out awhile back with 8 GB RAM and a 500 GB SATA SSD.

still a great computer that i'm sure i'll use for years to come, but it just isn't supported by Sierra. unless the new MBPs are exceptional, i see no reason to upgrade.

My husband had to upgrade one of my 3 boyfriends macbook to sierra, I think it's ok.

thanks for the suggestion, i'll definitely consider it.

the SSD makes things way more bearable on this 2009 model, but i mainly use it for firefox, mail, itunes, VLC (plays 1080p mp4s with no issues), and microsoft remote desktop into a much more current windows 10 PC.

i want to see what they've got up their sleeve for the next MBP refresh though before i commit. if it's good, and i buy into it, it should hopefully last me until 2024 or later.

As a non iPhone User. Probably not? There is nothing of the new features i will use. I dont like voice-activated commands. I dont live in the apple-universe. I just like their OS and have to deal with Macs at Work. Dont see a reason to upgrade my hackintosh or my MacBook.

In the past it was just a bloated piece of shit but it worked and it was actually simple enough to use if you had spent just a small amount of effort.

Now its bloated and confusing as fuck for the most part. I recently switched my phone to an iPhone and I'm glad they got rid of iTunes sync for activation. Having to actually pair my other devices with it would actually push me over the edge I think.
