Fun fact though: the sharp sign (U+266F) has two vertical and two slanted lines, while the number sign # (U+0023) has the two slanted and two horizontal lines. I guess the thick slanted lines in the sharp sign make it visible against the lines of the staff in the background. Anyway the language uses the number sign even though it's called C Sharp, probably because we're all stuck in the 1990s where any character above U+007F is dangerous and exotic and we don't know how to deal with it.
