Not really answered yet in the previous thread..

Are there any dangers to the actual hardware when you undervolt?
I want to undervolt to keep my FX8320 cooler at stock speeds, but I don't want to damage it.

Running with an -0.006 offset right now, but I want to increase that. I went as far as +0.8 when overvolting to overclock and it was stable.

I was searching a board with flags and when I posted it showed a Russian flag instead the Spanish one where I am. I looked for my ip address location on the Internet and some pages showed Spain while others showed Russia. Yesterday I posted and it showed a Spanish flag. Should I be worried?
>>
>>56515994
It will show the flag of the most local distribution point.

Being routed through Russia if you're in western Europe is kinda weird, though.

You might have to be worried. Maybe botnet.

What am I doing wrong? Why won't foobar show the tracks from the cue files instead of the mp3s?
Tried to write cuesheets to let foobar know about where the individual movements are within each track. They're properly formatted as far as I can tell and if I drag the cue files into foobar it reads them fine.
>>
>>56516025
Why don't you just use Winamp, though?

Using foobar is like useless MPV elitism without the advantage of framesync.

Also, what's a good android music player that will handle cue files mostly correctly? I've been using and was happy with shuttle+ but it doesn't seem to like the cue files.

Winamp has been the basic "it just werks" music player for like 20 years now.

It also has the most based visualizations. Milkdrop is fucking insane on modern CPU/GPU combos and runs in 1080p at 60+ fps if you have a decent setup.

Don't follow meme shit.

Took a random pic of Milkdrop running on my TV as a second screen for you.

Why is my PC/GPU louder at lower fan speed?

I was getting over 70C on some games and I could hear my (supposedly) my gtx780 working, nothing too much, but enough to notice. Because of reasons I ended up making a custom fan settings in msi afterburn with the most important being 60% at 60C and 70% at 65C. Now the fans spin faster with getting to over 2000rpm, but my temperature not only does not reach 70 any more, but I can barely hear the fans. Was I even hearing the fans before or what? I don't understand how this is suppose to work.

Does the iPhone 7 have the speaker grill on the top too, or it's just the 16 holes on the bottom?

Because in the presentation videos (pic related) the effects seem to imply it has sound coming from both sides, but from what I see it looks like it only comes out of the bottom.

floor type doesnt matter as long as it is not a fabric like a carpet.

grounded means it is connected to the physical ground under your house like a lightning rod protector.

you need to touch METAL. psu has to be plugged into the wall outlet but does not have to be switched on, the ground is still connected while off.

If anyone doesn't mind helping me out,

Taking a class on C#, I'm running into an issue with validation. The point of my program is to allow campus security to give out tickets, it calculates whether the violator is a guest, faculty, or student.

if ( violator == student )
{
if ( checkBox1.Checked == true )
{
if ( (speed - 35) >= 20)
{
fee = violator + (((speed - 35) / 5) * feeExtra) + 120;
} else if ( (speed - 35) <= 20)
{
fee = violator + (((speed - 35) / 5) * feeExtra) + 50;
}
} else if ( checkBox1.Checked == false )
{
fee = violator + (((speed - 35) / 5) * feeExtra);
}
}

^Here's whats causing an issue. If the student is a senior, they get charged an extra $50, which is what checkbox1 is. And if the senior is traveling more than 20mph over the speed limit, the extra amount is $120 instead of $50.

But everytime, my program skips over whether or not its checked and just runs this bit for when a student is selected:
fee = violator + (((speed - 35) / 5) * feeExtra);

Any ideas on what could fix it? Please and thank you.

i guess you have a point about it having different meanings depending on where you're from. but where i'm from it's both music and photos, you usually specify it when you talk or it's understood from the context.
in this case it's dropbox which is used for all kinds of files, not only images, so i guessed it was song files.

Second day with C, what am I doing wrong, first two lines are user input and second two lines should be the exact same as output from the program. Will fix the indentation later, build emacs yesterday and was to lazy to set tab on 4 spaces.

Is A.f a pointer to a Foo object or does the constructor copy the value? This is Java btw.

Well I figured it out, foobar doesn't have an option to hide the files referenced within a cue sheet but it does hide files that are hidden in windows explorer. Hide the files but not the cue sheet and play the cue sheet and it works.

buy a separate router and modem. Your ISP will instantly re-flash it as soon as you connect to their network if your router isn't segregated from their network.
>>
>>56519018
Depends on the model. The help pages for it usually list the specific risks you're facing and how to avoid potential bricks. Most of the time as long as you are actually flashing the firmware intended for your specific device you wont run into any major problems and you can revert if you want.

Can an old hard drive cause my input lag?
Two years ago i started to have input latency with my mice. and some usb stuff transferred at 10mbps.
I tried everything, ram, psu, other mices, other ports, and no luck.
Now a week ago I finally after 7 years upgraded my computer, to a i7 6700, 16gb ram yatta yatta.
the thing is, I STILL HAVE MOUSE INPUT LAG. and the USB 3.0 stuff are transferring at 50mbps with my external hard drive. in which i remember with a friend's computer it went 100mbps.
I changed everything but the harddrive, it's an old WD250GB that i had since 2007, that's where i install the OS on.
A friend in a month will give me back a 500gb that I borrowed him and will try install OS there.
The detail of how my mouse lag is:
Move slow, I can make a 180º move. Move really fast, it will only move 10º.
this problem with 2 years and buying a new pc and still have this problem kinda made me want to hang myself. But will wait for a response.
I have a 4 year old 700w PSU, but tried with a 650w bronze and still was the same.
Tried different monitors
I've installed Windows 7 two times in the old motherboard that I had when started the problem, then changed to a new one, Gigabyte H170-G1, then had to change it to a Asus Z170-A, and with every the problem persisted
A mice with a higher DPI does seem to kinda fix the problem, the mouse lag is itty bitty tiny notice-able, and doesnt have that transfer loss, but doesn't mean the problem is gone, since my USB 3.0 is going half of what is suppose to go. with the old mobo happened too. 5-10 mbps transfer with the 2.0, though i thought that was normal.
Tried different mousepads too
My question it's again, can somehow a HDD do that?
it's weird, since it's like it's not giving the proper power to the south bridge or something I don't know

demo:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NC3cbdUSog8 it's not just delay, it's not receiving the whole movement
i've suffered this for 2 years, please help

It's a "Format String". %20s means insert a string padded out to 20 characters, %10d means insert a number padded out to 10 characters, \n is a newline.
The strings and numbers listed in the format string are then taken from later arguments to the String.format function (in order).

An old hard drive will cause slow startup, long loading time in games, and terrible performance when you're trying to run something else in the background. Also the older a hard drive is, the higher a chance it will fail and you'll lose data so you should probably replace it anyway.

Now as for your actual problem:
What mouse are you using?
How do you have the Windows mouse settings set? It looks like either the tracking speed is much lower than I would ever use for a game or you have mouse acceleration on.

Networking question:
I did a fresh install of Windows 7 on my desktop due to hardware problems not long ago and installed the essential drivers that came with my motherboard and whatnot. Normally this is fine as I would just hook the ethernet cable up to my router and I would be connected just fine since the router has all the settings stored already.

But this time, when it came to downloading files, especially larger ones, it would start off downloading at an average speed and over time it would gradually slow down and grind down to 0b/s. All my other deviced which are connected to the router wirelessly can download large files without any problem whatsoever. This problem with my desktop is also preventing me from downloading and installing updates. I did a speed test between my desktop and laptop and the desktop has a throttled speed and it would frequently dip at points compared to the consistent connection of my laptop. Any idea wtf is going on?
>>
>>56520160
>installed the essential drivers that came with my motherboard
i hope you only installed the network drivers and then went online and got everything else because the ones that come with the mobo are old as shit

>>
>>56520293
Not worth it, AMD has better DX12 support, freesync does not cost extra like Gsync does and AMD gets better performance boosts from drivers over time than Nvidia.

I'm trying, but this connection issue is kinda preventing me from getting said drivers. Then again, the motherboard drivers listed on the site predate the date I bought the motherboard. I can try again just to be extra sure. At this moment it's the network issue that's doing my tits in.

I need a device for when I'm in my bed to move my cursor.
I was thinking something like pic related but it cost way too much for the use ($40)
Someone know any good cheap alternative
I don't really care if it's wireless or not, my bed is not so far
>>

There could be something wrong with your network connection, or with the physical ports on your router, or even the ethernet cord you're using. You could try a different router, or connecting a wireless card to your desktop if you have one.

500-600€ overwatch/csgo dont care about graphics quality. what i mostly care about is running engineering software which i suppose isn't that heavy.
>>
>>56521368
Will you use the laptop during classes? If not, you could make an ITX build to make it more portable but still as powerful as a regular desktop.

Overwatch will be quite tricky on that budget if you want a laptop.

Windows 7 professional, Arrrrrrgh version.
Still, I installed this windows in every of my friend's computer, and never had a problem.
The problem started when I had:
Gigabyte GA-880GM-something, dont remember
700W PSU Coolersmaster
8GB ram ddr3 1333hz
Phenom II x4 955 BE
AMD 6870 1gb
HDD 230GB; 1TB Caviar black
---------------------------
Now:
Same PSU
Same drives
Asus Z170-A
2x8gb DDR4 2400mhz
Intel I7 6700
GTX 970 (bought it from a friend that needed money, don't bully)
----------------------------
Yes I tried other PSUs for testing, was still the same.

What did you activate with?
Install Win7 Ultimate on the WD Black and activate with DAZ.
Update windows and all hardware drivers.

maybe try messing around with the usb settings in your bios?

i really can't think of anything. maybe try windows 8 or a different version of windows 7
>>
>>56521314
Maybe. You can download drivers manually at any rate. It is possible that certain features might break in the future. For now you can download copies of 2.11 here

http://us.download.nvidia.com/GFE/GFEClient/2.11.4.0/GeForce_Experience_v2.11.4.0.exe

or

http://www.filehorse.com/download-nvidia-geforce-experience/old-versions/

and disable the update by renaming C:\ProgramData\NVIDIA Corporation\GeForce Experience\Update\Setup.exe

I guess it's not a big deal to make an account, but since I only use experience for driver checks and settings recommendations it didn't seem worth it.

oh ups, missed the chipset part. tho I did read a chart and non of the H i saw (atleast sorted by price) reached over 2133mhz. and the first one to hit it was the Z.
Thought it was because of that, and when I had the h170 in the cmos didnt let me change it over 2133 like the Z one. that's why i changed it to the Z the next day. I missed gigabyte tho, was 30 dollar off for the next gigabyte mobo, didn't reach with my wallet

too expensive where I live.
besides it's been a while since i've read about ssd, I feared it's reliability and its price in the past since i've heard a lot of them failure often. I can't go buying hard drives every now and then. it's been 7 years since i've upgraded my computer. and never changed the hard drives since then. 230gb from 2007, and 1tb from 2010, got the last one cheap, bought it day before the flood in wd.

Been there done that. The buying of this PC is part of a project that has rules. I cant go any higher on the ladder.

I sort of have a thing in mind since the start. Secretly contacting the shop and ask if they can make a "complete PC" with some extra parts. I dont think they will agree.

The String.format method in Java is used to make printing and formatting easier.
You do %[spacing][data type]
So (%5s, "test") will make "test" fit into 5 spaces; since "test" is only 4 characters, it will add 1 space to it.
If the space is positive, it adds the space to the right of the string; if it's negative, it's to the left.
