I'm currently using this tv as a monitor:

It works well, 5ms response time I believe. I'm looking for a new relatively budget priced tv between 40-50" with similar response time, would something like this be a worthwhile upgrade?

Frustratingly it doesn't detail the response time under the specs so I have no idea if that tv is better or worse. Any help would be really appreciated.

Also, thank you op for making a proper thread.

Programming related retarded questions.

One, how do I go on about repeating adding an item into a sharepoint list through C# WFA?

Second, how do I make a datagridview display another SHarepoint view? I.E rather than show the default one (All items), I want the list to switch to another, filtered view.

I cannot find much info online and I'm too stupid to use the little I can to implement it properly despite trying for ages.

That sounds shady AF. Where the hell would you find a checsum to validate an image that came with all those updates? If you mean you could slipstream your own, sure. But since you have to download them manually either way, the benefits of actually slipstreaming the disk for a single install are minimal.

It is.
>Where the hell would you find a checsum to validate an image that came with all those updates?
You can't, doesn't exist (at least for the latest updates).

You can look around on MS website, IIRC they made an update pack over a year ago, but I dont think it's included in any ISO (you should double check).

Never use a modified ISO that does not match the checksum of MS official ISOs.

Have a look here:
>>
>>56354875
There is no single brand, it all depends on the models.

Check the popular choices on your shopping site, compare those boards and pick a selection with good user reviews, then check hardare review sites for the details to see if it uses high quality parts.

For any part to live that long is just hit or miss. Get something with good warranty (should be able to find boards with 5 year warranty).

What the fuck? So i was just minding my business ingame inna mmo when all of a sudden my PC turned itself off and i was stuck at the mainboard logo screen afterwards. No BSOD or anything, just a plain HDD shutoff and then the mainboard logo appeared almost immediately afterwards

Tried rebooting a couple times but only after i went into the setup/checkup screen via f8 did it actually manage to get past the mainboard logo screen again and show the truecrypt password prompt

The thing is this never happened before (it's a very stable build which has proven itself over the years with no BSOD issues whatsoever), i guess somehow my CPU or some other component overheated so the safety shutdown kicked in this time?

Also, on the boot checkup screen it said "CMOS checksum bad", could the battery perhaps be empty/faulty or something

Can any users of the kobo aura line (Aura/h2o) tell me if would it be possible to insert a micro sd card with higher capability than the maximum supported by the device (32gb) by formatting to fat32? Shouldn't be a problem. You can run multiple VMs simultaneously and have them be on the same virtual network. Hell whonix works off of some of those same network sharing features. No reason you couldn't set up a domain in there.

Basically. You're probably going to want to spend a little while looking up guides on using your VMM's networking options, so you can configure your VMs to simulate the kind of network you want them in.

What hyper-link management module do you suggest for Emacs (v24).

I am building a mess of notes similar to a wiki and hard links don't work if the folder gets moved. And the current "Org Mode" tree is getting too big for basic use.

I am interested in the options. I read about "id" on the GNU site but don't see it listed. I see "Hyperbole" is listed and the description sound like what I want.

Any advice, or knowledge? (Kind of new to this)

I'd prefer it to be a long term thing, been burned by cool developers making something and then it glitch out with newer hardware and software.

I can't find my 16GB flash drive. Hope no one found it.. nothing bad on it, but like tranny porn and shit I don't want anyone finding.

But, anyways:

I want to install Windows 7 and downgrade from Windows 10. I made a bootable USB drive once with that 16GB flash drive I had, and I installed Windows 7 from it. I actually copied the exact files from that drive as a backup, and I still have it.

Could I just cram everything on that drive into a folder, then put the contents of that backup into the drive, and it boots fine? Or is there another and less messy way?

Since I don't want to get rid of the files on it. I have no other place for it.

I figured this site had suitable instructions:

http://bootableusb.net/make-bootable-external-hdd-install-windows-78/
>>
>>56356065
So the files that you have, are they the contents of the windows 7 installer, or everything that used to be on your C:\ drive?
>>
>>56356156
The Windows 7 installer. I went to explorer, clicked on my flash drive, copied it, and pasted it. If I dragged the contents of that folder into a flash drive I'm sure it could boot the Windows 7 installer. I figured the same principle works with a portable HD

it also seems like a messy way to do it though

So I'm on Windows 10 and about to do a "Fully Clean the Drive" to just have a fresh PC.

When I go to Control Panel or even search for "create recovery" I don't see it.

>>

>A Recovery Drive lets you boot your system and easily access a number of recovery and troubleshooting tools to revive a failing Windows 10 system. If you haven't done so yet, you need to create a Windows 10 Recovery Drive. That way, you'll be prepared should you encounter a problem with your Windows 10 installation.

So my Dad is working on his living room floor. He has a hammer out and he's beating some pieces of wood into place. His satellite receiver is about one foot away from where he's beating.

I told him he should probably not do that because the satellite receiver has a DVR in it with a hard drive and it could damage it. It's still plugged in and running right now. I was going to remove the receiver and put it in another room but he said it would be "fine"

What do you think is the chance the drive is damaged?

I think i know what causes the sluggishness in my system now (even FF is laggy as hell now lawl); There's these three LED's at the top of my mainboard which are used to indicate when data is being moved through the PCI lanes and such - Normally these said three LED's would not blink at all because i set all this cool n' quiet shit up in my BIOS so that they never blink even when the c&q power saving scheme (aka CPU downthrottling) is enabled. However since some time now they started to blink again when i'm outside of the max power energy scheme in win7, haven't checked yet but i appears they even sometimes do it when i'm inside the scheme. This basically means that my whole rig gets slowed down due to the PCI lanes not always being available as they should be. I noticed this today when i tried to play that MMO, however weirdly enough BF3 was running perfectly fine with 100+ fps constantly.

I think this started happening after the reactivation password screen stopped working and i set the screensaver options up from scratch again, but i'm not 100% sure regarding this. It could be a faulty/dying mainboard though, which would be really fucking bad

Also i had this problem a couple years back but i forgot how i solved it back then. If anyone with cool & quiet / an AMD cpu on a MSI mobo wants to pitch in here and give some advice then feel free to do so

unless you specify otherwise, ffmpeg will use defaults for what is specified
there are default codecs for specifying an mp4 container (which is implied by using an output filename ending in .mp4)
and those codecs have their own defaults when not otherwise specified

ffmpeg defaults to transcoding even is remuxing is possible, you need to specify so if you wish to remux

to remux; use
ffmpeg -i input.mkv -c copy -map 0 output.mp4

keep in mind .mp4 doesn't support as much as mkv, so it might not work for all files

I have a hard drive that's making a grinding noise and people say that it's going to fail soon. That's fine because I have plenty more drives. However, I would still like to use the drive as storage that I don't mind losing.

I have an SSD for an OS and one for storage. The HDD that's failing and making the grinding noise is rarely used or stored on. It keeps being accessed randomly and making the grinding sound, which annoys me because it happens for about five seconds straight. How do I stop it from being accessed? And why is it being accessed? I literally have nothing on there that a program or anything requires to access.

I heard people say that it's indexing, but what is it indexing exactly? And why does it always do it when there's nothing that I change about it?

uBlock Origin would be all you need as long as you update all the filters and add some for special sites, if you so choose. I don't see why you'd need anything else. Makes it redundant. Unless it's something that blocks Javascript, but that can be another issue in itself because it seems to break a lot of sites functionality.

Mobo guy here again, disabling APS and fixing the auto fan setting (which reset itself to the default values after the crash aswell for some reason) in BIOS got rid of all my stability problems, phase LED's are working again too and no remaining sound issues whatsoever. Vidya running smoothly also

Now i just need to make sure this "crash" (i strongly suspect CPU overheating was the cause, it's at 80 degree celsius at stress which is basically way above safe temp already, i'm surprised the fucking thing still runs. It's more one of those inbuilt safety lockdowns really) doesn't happen again while i'm ingame. Going to tweak the fan settings a bit or something, but i already have a dedicated fan so there's not much i can do save for getting a new CPU perhaps. impossible to say, depends where it got.

but the top of the mobo (the side with the CPU on) has a clear layer of protection from shorting things, but if it hit the back where pins are it's more likely to short.
same with graphics card.
it can also damage jacks and ports like the front panel, sata and pci-e and ram slots if you're unlucky.

put the lid back on your case and put the case under your desk or on the other side of where your drinks are.

And if you ever get any liquid into the case, pull the power cord quickly, turn off the PSU, take out all the individual parts and put in ziplock or freezer bags with enough uncooked rice to almost cover them and let sit for 3+ days to completely dry.
if it's sticky use distilled water and a non-corrosive cleaning product to get shit off parts.

What type of "rig" would someone want to get for mining Bitcoins/Alt-Coins?

I'm building my first pc and I've got the cpu cooler, and graphics card left to install.
The problem is I have a big cpu cooler (dark rock pro 3) and I'm not sure of two things
1. Should I Put the motherboard into the case before installing graphics card/cpu cooler? or install them outside of the case
2. Should I install the cpu cooler or graphics card first? Also is it really important to install the graphics card into the pci_e2 slot because my cooler takes up so much space I'm worried it will be difficult to install or won't fit in that slot.

First attach cpu -> ram -> cooler to mobo before putting mobo in the case.

However you should put the mobo on the mobo box (dont put the static bag under it) and hook up everything to make sure it works before you put everything into the case.

>>56361700
overclocking has never been "necessary", but it saves money in the long run as you can squeeze more performance out of it for a negligible cost so you dont have to upgrade as soon.

It will probably be several years before you "need" it with a modern processor, but you might want the option later on down the line.

There shouldn't be any problem installing the graphics card in the first PCIe x16 slot, especially with an ATX board along with a full tower case. Nevertheless, as i stated earlier, i suggest you install the cpu cooler before you install the motherboard. Then once you install the motherboard, install the graphics card. Make sure you put the motherboard on top of its original package while installing the cooler.

When someone torrents something and they get caught, what are the penalties? Do you usually just get a warning first? What if you continue to do it?
For example, what if you get a warning for pirating a movie. So you stop pirating movies, however you've moved on to games. What happens if you get caught pirating games?

It creates a working webm, I just can't post it to 4chan. Please ignore the metadata tags as they're only relevant to the application I'm using.

ffmpeg -framerate 7 -loop 1 -i "C:\converted\cover.jpg" -c:v libvpx -i "C:\converted\Image.wav" -c:a libvorbis -b:v 50k -vf scale=-1:300 -shortest -metadata title="%artist% - %album%" -metadata author="%artist%" -threads 8 -y "C:\converted\%artist% - %album%.webm"

I mean, do I back up an image of my whole drive? Specific folders where I keep the important stuff? My OS? What?

Also, how do I do that? Does my OS (windows) have some built in tool or would I be better off with another solution? Should I just script something myself?

Where do I back things up to? A separate drive in my box? An external drive in an enclosure? Online?

drag and drop files to an external drive, usb stick or the browser page of your cloud service.
or use a cloud service that offers a program that lets you pick which folders to sync to the cloud, then you just put stuff in that folder and it will automatically upload it to the cloud.
there are also programs that can sync files on your drive to and external drive automatically when you plug it in.

they dont offer any benefits over other cooling designs, in fact it will most likely run hotter because there will be less airflow over the heatsinks.

if you have a big mesh the whole length of your gpu card, you would get much better cooling by having more and bigger fans sucking in air thru it and disperse it throughout the case.
