The traffic light broadcasts a radio signal. The signal contains the color, the geographical coordinates and other useful information for unmanned vehicles. I can record this signal, edit and broadcast where there are no traffic lights. How to protect the drones?

The signal is encrypted via a digest of a secret, timestamp, and unique identifier. This kills the playback attack.

Public key cryptography would work fine.
But in reality it will just be plaintext and modifying the signal will just be super illegal so nobody bothers trying. Car manufacturers will build in as good protection as they can, but it will never really need to be used.

no it won't

That's not how self driving cars work. They just have a camera that looks at the color of the traffic light.
