So after 13 days my USB DAC, that I posted about earlier, arrived today: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/PCM2704-USB-sound-card-mini-USB-DAC/32699157835.html

It's a very minimal board based on the PCM2704 that only provides output.
There are cheaper similar ones with the same chip like

available but this one looked a bit more quality what with its tantalum caps and shit.

It sounds great with my evos directly plugged into it. Definitely better than my chinkpad's builtin sound and I like it even better than the sound of my sansa clip (might just be placebo though).
But I'm no audiophile and I have the hearing of someone in his 60s, so I really don't know shit.

Works without any hassle under Linux, haven't tested it under Windows.

So it seems KZ have released bluetooth earphones, for a decent price too

Daily with my ali XY Lm3886 board. It's actually a really really solid DAC. You can buy ones already assembled for the same price give or take a couple dollars - then you just need to wire it up to a transformer which isn't too hard.

Bought a RCORE transformer to go with it.

They got some other PCM2704 usb dacs that are basically the same deal as that but cheaper (like $3 vs $10) I bought couple and they are okay, way better than onboard sound but nothing too dramatic.

How many times do we have to answer this question? Your onboard sound card can't provide enough power and no, it doesn't matter how expensive and badass the motherboard is. It's like complaining your electric guitar doesn't work when you plugged it into a USB socket. Go on eBay and search "48v phantom power" for a Chinese one or buy a Behringer phantom power off Amazon if you don't trust Chinese power supplies. Yes, they aren't cheap and sometimes the power supply costs as much as the mic. This isn't a USB mic and it runs on an electrical condenser, it needs voltage to sound good. Factor it into the cost or buy a Blue mic if you don't want the hassle.
