What does it offer over my G900?
>>
>>56215517
G900 user here. I ditched my G502 because of that fucking thumb rest. What benefit does NOT being able to sense the movement on mousepad with your thumb (and pinky) give you?

I miss the extra buttons though. The G900 got thumb buttons on both sides. It sorta works, but not as well.
>>
>>56215778
I have not been in a situation where i need to "sense movement". I'm usually aware i am moving the mouse. If that's an issue you can still feel the surface with your pinky.

Happy with my g502 so far
>>
>>56215816
Sounds fine for a low sens user, but mine is high enough to easily cover my dual WQHD displays without having to move my wrist. I'm getting my precision that way.

G303 here, been using this for maybe 5 or 6 months now and boy, it's the best mouse I've ever used. Comfy as fuck, it's literally designed for claw grip and the sensor is perfect. Not a hint of any doubleclick and the weight is perfect too.

Here are acceptable mice brands:
Mionix
Roccat (Military only)
Zowie
Dream Machines
Ducky

Here are mice that have fine internals but you get ripped off on build/qc/price/brand:
Logitech
Razer (DA Chroma only)
Older Zowie
Non-military Roccat
Steelseries
Gigabyte
+ Any other no-name mouse with a pixart sensor e.g. feenix or the tek-syndicate meme mouse

Anything else is seriously evaluate your use case and probably don't buy tier
>>
>>56217643
Two things.
Old Mionix was shit quality wise. Total garbage.
Even current Zowie click latency is a huge problem compared to everything else in their price range.

You are right in a way.

For the last 6-8 years we had terrible gayming mouses, and finally someone puts on the thinking hat and realizes that 8 years ago we already had perfect mouses, which had been in constant design evolution for over 30 years at that point.

So yeah, I like the shape of this mouse, it looks dated but it is perfectly ergonomical.

It's possible. You can measure when the switch activates with an oscilloscope, and you can measure the signal through the USB cable. You just need some expensive equipment for good results.

That's only true if you run profiles saved on the computer. You can save profiles on the mouse, then you don't need the software.

They're sponsored, that's why.
I wouldn't even be surprised if Zowie produced some 'higher quality' mice to give to those players, in order to sell their garbage.

That's a big image.
>>
why isnt there place where you can hold and test gaming mice, its easy to research the best sensors, i just want the correct grip
>>
>>56223722
Everyone who ISN'T sponsored by Zowie and actually gets a choice of mouse uses a Zowie.

That being said there are also ~10 other mice at the same pricepoint that are just as good and the differences between most high quality mice are negligable these days as long as you do your research and don't buy something above the $60 pricepoint or that has a poor sensor or common QC issues.
>>
>>56223949
Just order one online, and return it if it doesn't fit?
>>
>>56223965
Well, I wouldn't actually be surprised if a lot of those pros just play and play and play, and never even thought about how much click delay a mouse might have. Because honestly, outside of /g/ I've never talked to anyone who was even aware of it.
>>
>>56223683
that's what i'm telling you, it doesn't work even if you select to store profiles on the mouse
>>
>>56223987
Then you're doing it wrong. I've got 3 Logitech mice here, a G900, a G502 and a G600, and it works flawlessly on all three of them.
I plug them into my main computer, create a profile with the software, save it onboard, and plug them into my second computer, who doesn't even have the software installed. Everything works as I set it up: CPI settings, button commands, etc.
Only thing that might or might not work is polling rate, I'm gonna test that now.
>>
>>56224023
Coming back to confirm:
The mouse retains button commands, including macros, light settings, CPI settings and polling rate via the onboard profile, even if used on a computer without the G-series software installed.
>>
>>56223986
They're not even a hundreth of a second slower than other mice and calling it "click latency" is intentionally misleading since it's a matter of a stiffer switch with slight pre-travel and not a matter of one mouse actually actuating with less electronic delay. Regardless you're talking about barely 1f of difference at 144Hz, any "difference" you notice in your play is placebo.
>>
No, I despise that led "gamer" spaceship look. Why the fuck did logitech go for that.
>>
>>56224084

I fingertip grip my mouse so the G303 is pretty good for me.

My only two gripes is that I use the mouse so much that the plastic on the side and on the left click are worn to a shiny finish, heck from some angles it looks like I've worn into the mouse.

The other is that I'm not banging on the mouse or anything, but I'm having the double click syndrome occasionally and sometimes it'll release the click when I'm dragging something.

Sensor, weight and how it glides on my aluminum mousepad are all perfect, running 5760*1080@2800~3000DPI

I'm not hearing any rattling even if I pick up my G303 and shake it hard holding it with only 3 fingers from the sides.

But the idea is that this one doesn't by default.
I would have severely diminished interest in a car if someone advertised it to me on the basis that something in it would probably break, but that it was okay because there's another bad part that you also want to replace and so working on the first will prepare you for the second.

You do realize that traditional mice are gaming peripherals in 2016?

We have trackpoints and trackpads for desktop use, or trackballs and ergonomic mice if you swing that way, and pen tablets for artists. Traditional mice are dated, dead, and more ergonomically deadly than actually using emacs without evil mode.

i had so many mice and if they didnt die earlier because of other reasons, i had to fix the switches or replace them because they all start double clicking. razer, old logitechs, new logitechs, chink razer clones ( a4tech ), zowies, roccats. Its a thin copper band, that is bent in a certain shape, its bound to "unbent" after so many clicks. The only way a mouse will never doubleclick is if they use some godly material for the band, like i dunno, titanium or some shit - or if they change the mechanism alltogether, like someone suggested optical switches, or maybe a more robust mechanical one that doesnt involve thin metal bands
