Finally got the time to install arch...
Never going back to a deb distro.
>>

I did that and it stopped booting so I used tty to delete the file. I'll look into this more though.

Windows 10 a few months back, used Fedora for 3 years before that with random checks into Ubuntu land just to come back nodding "yup still a piece of shit". MS really nailed it with Win10 when it comes to UI, it's absolutely fantastic.

Too bad I need to return to Fedora if I want to graduate from compsci some day.
>>
None, I just install my OS then use it. No idea why you freetards insist on getting a new OS once a week.
>>
>>56107942
I guess it may not work depending on the hardware. my intel graphics is relatively new (Braswell)
>>
>>56107987
I'm using a laptop with Optimus I think it's called, like it's got both Intel graphics and a dedicated Nvidia card, so that's probably causing issues. Newer Nvidia drivers on this Xubuntu install straight up don't work and give a black screen on boot.

Pornhub html5 works great.

Fedora is the working mans alternative to Windows - real grown up shit.

For my degree, I ran Windows on my main, and had a Fedora box I was shell into. I would run XMing on Windows and pipe X11 over SSH. That meant I could program C in Geany (or whatever) on the Linux box with all the GUI on Windows. My CompSci degree was easy and I could still do all the Windows shit.

You can have the best of both worlds.

That depends entirely on your point of view

Actually, 8.1 and 10 will get you better performance than 7.
>>
is screen tearing only an issue on xfce?
>>
>>56108605
no, I used ubuntu-mate and it had tearing too.
>>
>>56105429
How do you get the terminal to have that blue arrow?
>>
desktop thread?
>>
>>56108663
Tearing is pretty much guaranteed if you're using propriatory NVIDIA drivers. There is a fix for this but until NVIDIA support Wayland properly then it's something you'll have to put up with.

My laptop only had intel graphics.
It was solved with selecting Metacity+compton from the settings though.

The Rub el Hizb (Arabic: ربع الحزب rubʿ al-ḥizb) is a Muslim symbol, represented as two overlapping squares, which is found on a number of emblems and flags. In Arabic, Rubʻ means "one fourth, quarter", while Hizb means a group or party. Initially, it was used in the Quran, which is divided into 60 Hizb (60 groups of roughly equal length); the symbol determines every quarter of Hizb, while the Hizb is one half of a juz'. The main purpose of this dividing system is to facilitate recitation of the Qur'an.

The symbol is used as a marker for the end of a chapter in Arabic calligraphy. It is represented by two overlapping squares as in the Unicode glyph ۞ at U+06DE.

The "key" word is desktop.
Your router and phone both run linux.

Also, people using Linux don't report what OS they are using. Blocking spying scripts is a norm in Linux world.
