BEGINNERS GUIDE TO GOOD BOY POINTS:

10 points for signing up to Gearbest
20 points to upload a custom avatar
10 points to write a review
20 points if you include a single picture (no need to use all three slots)
50 points if you include a video review (it doesn't have to be good, Russians do 10 second videos with no narration zooming on the product)

50 points if you sign up for the Gearbest newsletter: http://www.gearbest.com/gadget-deals.html

There are lucky draws every week where you earn random good boy points and you earn an amount equivalent to the value of your order as it gets marked as shipped. Also GB randomly lets you take surveys or mark an item as delivered, this also nets you points so take the chance if you see it.

If you review the Gearbest app and let customer service know they give you 300-500 points.

If you notice any errors on the site or app, let customer service know and they give you points as reward. Spelling errors count.

Ask customer service directly how you can earn good boy points, they'll link you to trustpilot etc and you get 300 points for every shill review you make bigging up Gearbest.

Bought a chink shit 3D printer about 3 weeks ago. It's a $280 DIY kit called the Tevo Tarantula.

I've never 3D printed before, but I was able to get up and running with this kit reall quick. Took about 10 hours to assemble and anther 5-6 to get my first successful print. The owners of this printer have a very large Facebook support group to help get up and running, which is occasionally monitored by the makers of this kit.

I think this is a very good kit to get up and running for beginners interested in 3D printing.

http://www.kimovil.com/en/where-to-buy-bluboo-maya
I bought this phone as well, I've looked up pretty much everything I can about it and it does have some issues.

The touchscreen can be kind of shitty but I guess they fixed that with an OTA update, only issue is the OTA update will break most video playing apps and you will have to download an older version of the app for it to work. They may fix this before you even get the phone though since they have already put out two updates in the month or so the phone has been out.

That looks exactly like a rubber bracelet people like so much. You could probably find a bulk buy of those rubber band bracelets for cheap. Most likely will be made in China.
>>
>>56085027

why do you want to strap a thing to the front of your phone, blocking the touch screen?
>>
>>56085147
Not everyone is constantly staring at their phone like a braindead zombie. The band is for securing an MP3 player to the back of the phone so it becomes one device in your pocket. If you're listening to an album you won't be fucking with your phone.
>>
>>56085176
You know that your phone already has a built in mp3 player, right?

>>56085084

that seems like a problem but I have some experience changing ROMs so if the phone has some little support on XDA I can deal with it.

Pretty sure your phone has
1) shit battery life/listening time
2) shit DAC
3) shit file sorting
4) shit durability (every faggot out there has a smashed screen)

If I'm doing some kind of strenuous job or going to the gym I'd rather have an external MP3 player with 80 hours of battery life, 128gb sd card in it and built to handle real life without buying a reinforced steel case. I love how people snort at this while they walk around with a power bank strapped to their phone for their autistic Pokemon Go "adventures". At least music isn't a shit fad.

doesn't matter because you are distracted and in a noisy environment anyways when you are outside
so you won't notice the minimal difference in quality
>3) shit file sorting
in what way is that better on a mp3 player?
>4) shit durability (every faggot out there has a smashed screen)
how do you improve your phones durability by strapping another device to it

>If I'm doing some kind of strenuous job or going to the gym I'd rather have an external MP3 player
there's nothing wrong with that but please leave your phone at home then
and don't strap two devices that do the exact same thing together just to show off your autism
>>
>>56085402
>built to handle real life without buying a reinforced steel case

I get this bit, though I'm not a cretinous mongoloid and have never broken a phone. But buying a standalone mp3 player so that you can be careless with it and then attaching it to your phone which will break if you are careless with it hits new heights of fucking stupidity.

1x Delock 89363 4 Port PCI USB 3.0 adapter

Mainboard is the last thing to arrive, my retailer had to order it from the manufacturer. Re-using the case (Define R2 XL), PSU (Seasonic X-650) and rest of my hardware (Intel RS2WC080, GTX 970, drives etc.)

>preferring MP3 players =/= audiophiles

You're on chink shit general you absolute mong, people here are running Ruizu X02s, cheap IEMs or Superlux, maybe a chink portable headphone amp like a FiiO if they feel fancy. You must be literally 13 years old if you can't see why people still like to have an MP3 player in 2016. It isn't because they're fedora tipping audiophiles or they're looking for placebo audio gains. They prefer having a device DESIGNED to do what it does (play music) really well rather than device designed to do a thousand things to an acceptable degree with cheap parts (phones). They do that because they love music and their needs outstrip their phones' capabilities because phones are aimed at normies who don't even like music much at all. Why are you even on /g/?
>>
>>56086376
So there is a difference between a Plasma and a LCD, but not between a dac from a mp3 and a dac from a Smartphone.
And let me guess, just because you said so.
>>
>>56086369
>nothing in technical terms to prove them wrong.

There's a difference between audiophile and not wanting a shitty phone thats staticy as fuck on quiet sounds so you have to crank it

Just try it on a phone with a Snapdragon processor SoC (e.g. Moto X series), the default audio is fucking awful unless they manufactured with a different one, which any flagship worth a shit does these days

Improvement in sound quality is improvement in sound quality and an MP3 player is objectively better for listening to music than a phone at this moment in time because no phone manufacturer will cut into their profits and put a good DAC in their overpriced phone.

It's not only about the physical size, just look at the guy who started this discussion
he's going to strap his phone and mp3 player together so whenever he wants to use one of them
he has to take both of them out of his pocket remove the strap, put strap and other device back in the pocket,
and do all that in reverse just because he wanted to reply to a text message he received or whatever
you also have to maintain two devices, keep them charged, transfer files to them, watch out so you don't lose them etc.
It's just way more work and hassle for a marginal effect

what's everyone's opinion on the xiaomi redmeme 3s?
>>
>>56087736
Only reason to buy one is if you want a 5" screen and the meme. RN3P outperforms every aspect otherwise

So I just got my Vernee Apollo Lite and I'd like to make a small review.
I already rinced it a bit but I can still go back to default if you're interested in the default settings.

However, I never made a review and the only smartphone I had before was my Nexus 4. What do you guys want to know?

I'll be off now to make some sick images and videos to test the cam.
>>
>>56087803
how difficult is it to flash it to stock android?
>>
>>56087776
I'll probably just stick with getting the k3 note, it has android 6.0 support at this point, whereas the redmeme only has miui7/5.1

Is gearbest's ticket system working?
I'm STILL trying to get my fucking Zircons returned

Hey guys I am thinking of getting xiaomi redmi note 3 pro 32gb phablet. I was wondering any protective case recommendations for it?
>>
>>56088049
I've just got the silicone cases. They work pretty gud but it may make it more difficult trying to press the volume and power buttons

The official RN3P leather case of course

Hey guys I have another question, I went to
>www.willmyphonework.net

and I am currently using straight talk as my carrier (which is sprint) and it says its compatible with all dats (2g/3g) except 4G LTE, is that accurate? Is anyone happen to be on straight talk with this phone?

Get the fiio accessories they have this kinds of bands for strapping dacs and amps to your phone.

cable raisers have a place, but paying more then the base value of cardboard to make your own is retarded.

some homes have shit shielding, not all cables are fantastic at shielding and a raiser keeps the cable a bit further away from the source of interference.

As the other anon already said, it's as vanilla as it gets. I think it's stock android 6.0 with playstore installed and the option to change the order of the navigation buttons.
This picture is taken from a Youtube video but it gives you an idea how it looks out of the box.

Here are some videos:
https://a.pomf.cat/ymfklx.3gp
https://a.pomf.cat/hhcifm.3gp
https://a.pomf.cat/ntvicr.3gp

The quality seems alright but the light started to flicker every now and then, not sure what that was about.

There are no custom roms yet, but they're working with the cyanogenmod guys to get one done.
I don't mind waiting because rooting is possible and I can just use Xposed and Nova Launcher for ricing.

There are some downsides, though: Shit gets really hot after a while.

whats the point in getting an rfid card protector? contactless technology is insecure by nature, but i use it happily because the bank will swallow up any money lost from fraud or skimming. if i was worried about it, i would just opt-out of contactless (if your bank doesn't let you do this then they're shit and you should switch)
