It'll be in at some point. You're delusional if you think otherwise. Microsoft are gradually moving everything to the modern app interface. A lot of stuff has moved there with the anniversary update, such as the last remnants of the old start menu/taskbar customisation interface, which is now completely handled in the settings app. It's going to take years, but eventually the old UI will be gone entirely, including the current version of File Explorer.

>>
>>55910686
You need to add mpv to your PATH for that to work, or create a installer that does it for you
It's not that different on *nix desu since you need to compile it on most distros to not have an archaic version from 4 years ago
None of this are problems inherent to the Windows or *nix, but rather problems from lazy repository maintainers and the lack of interest a Windows installer

wat, it's certainly no worse. Every time someone uses DirectX or OpenGL, that's hardware acceleration. If you're talking about video decoding, then yes, that also works, so I don't know where you're coming from.

Some things can't be hardware accelerated though, and in other cases, hardware acceleration causes poor quality output due to issues with the hardware itself.

This thread is pure FUD. You'll be free to continue using the old-fashioned File Explorer (formerly Windows Explorer), just like I've been using the old image viewer (that looks the same as on Windows 7) since the very first Windows 10 alpha build. Just click right on anything then choose open with-> old image viewer. You'll be able to do the same with the file manager. Just use the shortcut to the traditional one instead.

They aren't going to remove traditional applications because Microsoft is a serious organization that has to please millions and millions of companies.

If this was Linux, then you'd have a reason to be scared, because developers can radically change anything on a whim and tell you "don't like it? fork it! xD", like the Mozilla Firecucks.
>>
>>55925726

Just wanted a folder without any junk in it.
I don't use the desktop, except for a Home and Trash icon.

Tbh you're just lazy... it takes minimal effort to start using Linux. Unix like operating systems have been in style for half a century now, and the command syntax is essentially still the same as it was in the 1970s. How can you not know how to use a computer in 2016?

Fucking shitty ass website

>decide to try some UWP dev because why not

Holy shit is that thing a cluster fuck. It's all the convoluted hoops you have to jump through like with writing an android application from scratch for 0 benefit. I'll just stick to WPF when I'm forced to do Windows programming.

only thing you really have to lose is deploying to mobile

which is still all, just stick to what you want
