Also xiaomi seems to support their old flagships a lot more than the redmi series, both mi3 and mi4 run miui 8 based on android 6.0.1.
It also has a lot more 3rd party rom development if you're into pajeet homebrew roms.

mi4c performs slightly worse ( negligible) than the mi4 and with its lower storage ( only 16 or 32gb ) and plastic body i feel the mi4 is still the better choice. Also the mi4c has backlight bleed which the mi4 does not.
And again, rom development is better for the mi4 than mi4c because of the different cpu, mi4c is on miui 7

Fuck, now I want a Mi4. It's on flash sale on GB right now for $154 and it's compatible with my carrier AND it's apparently easy to root even for a fuckup like me.

Tried adding a 470uF 16V capacitor to my Somake 7.1 earphone line, and the noise wasn't reduced in fact I think there is now more noise but the audio quality and max volume increased in a really significant way, tried it on the mic line and nothing changed., also tried a 47uF 50V capacitor but there was minimal difference, also now the earphones led blinks.

I will try with more capacitors later but may not report findings because of FUCK YOU.

Well fuck, added a second capacitor and now the earphones sound is WAY FUCKING better, like holy fuck! they save like 0.30c not adding 2 capacitors that makes their product this fucking good, I can't believe how fucking good this sound for a $2 sound card, also the noise as been reduced with the second capacitor(47uF 50V on the mic line).

Now the sad part, the mic is now producing a different tone of noise.

I heard about this laptop at the xiaomi keynote and I been wanting a new laptop for a while. I was thinking of getting a thinkpad but this I saw notebook air.

There any smart home devices that work with ifttt/ echo etc? I saw a double wifi relay awhile back somewhere for around $20 but I can't remember where. I don't really want closed ecosystem crap as it's useless without integration. The name brand shit is way too expensive. I don't mind tinkering a little so a module would be ok too.

I succumbed to the sharks, bought a 32gb shark to test and use for a chinky mp3 player I ordered in the gym. Happy with the results, and aliexpress has been a pleasant experience so far to buy from.

You take some foil and bend it around some card stock, 2-3 layers enough, I then tape it with some duct tape. Place it at the back of wallet, no RFID scanner can now read your wallet because of the metal in the foil.

But to be honest even if they could, there is authentication so it's fairly useless.
