I bought the RN3P for 125 yoyos while it was cheap for some reason (2GB version)

It will come with a locked bootloader, you can unlock it the official way by applying for the code, OR, you can flash your phone with the global MIUI rom, but replace its bootloader with an already unlocked one. That's what I did, it took me less than an hour from googling it to it being done.

Then I flashed TWRP and installed mokee ROM. It's basically CM13 (6.0.1), it even has a fully stable release branch that I'm using.

I'm chuffed. Only issue is I can't seem to get any LTE, only H+, I know RN3P doesn't do 800mhz, but it does do 1800, and I would have thought I could get that in my area, but it can't seem to find it.

What's the cheapest phone with relatively stable cyanogenmod support for West-Europe?

What won't I be able to do or install on a cheap phone with 8gb internal storage and Microsd? Apps on Android don't get installed to the mSD card right?

The official CM13 team aren't developing for RN3P, mokee is the closest analogue, hell the site even looks like CM's site, other pure CM13 roms for the RN3P are hackjobs by xdadeveloper users. They may work just fine, but for daily driver use, you can't beat mokees stable release cycle. It should have OTA updates like true CM13 too.

The secret is to apply it on the new phone, directly after removing the factory protector on it, and to do it in an environment as dust free as possible. If you dont have acccess to a clean room, your shower cabin directly after a shower should work well enough.

I dont get the glass ones. Way too thick, and yes, they do protect the real screen, but still, you run around with a cracked screen. The palstic probably absorbs a little bit of impact.

No, if you listen to ZTE assuring everyone that they'll have Android N out for the phone. The software comes with a default AOSP style skin, has some neat features, only real flaw is the camera drivers probably need an upgrading. Very solid phone for the price, and if it gets unlocked it'd be a no-brainer buy for me.

I don't know about Tap & Go, but if your phone remembers the passwords for your accounts, then that should mean that they are stored on your phone unencrypted (but still most likely obfuscated, like k-9 mail stores them in base64, which is easily just converted).

Is there a way to make the Redmi 3 magically support the 800mhz band?

I currently have a Sony xperia z3 and don't know what to upgrade to. Sony decided to fuck themselves with their new flagship phones based on spec performance compared to the other flagships. Give me some insight to what phone would be a worth while upgrade to or if I should just keep hold of this.

Side note, the battery charge doesn't last a full day of use. It only lasts around 4-5 hours at most.

With greenify + auto-off wifi, and running only low-impact stuff in the background, I get about 2 hours of screen on time on average.

With all that plus disabling location, LTE, and extraneous stuff, I can push it to about 2.5. If you can make sure the battery is fresh or root yours, you might be able to extend it, but I've used this one a year and the battery has been pretty mediocre throughout.

Comparing my oneplus one to the moto x pure so far, got a few things to note:

-Moto X Pure feels so much nicer. The Rubber back is slick as fuck in the hand. The metal band is nice too.
-It is at about twice as thick as the oneplus one, but honestly isn't that overwhelming.
-Pure's screen beats the fuck out of the 1+1 screen without a doubt. Colors pop so much nicer, the higher resolution is immediately noticeable.
-Length and weight wise, they're nearly the same, so the only thing that needs getting used to is on screen buttons and the extra real estate up top.
-Waving to preview notifications is an excellent way to wake up the phone. Was worried about how reliable it would be, but honestly, it seems more reliable than double tap so far.

My subjective opinion: it's an unattractive phone. The detachable base gives the impression of weakness to the structure of the phone. The primer/paint is thick enough to cover the external antennae but this negates the point of having a metal body.

Otherwise, it seems like a great phone. Above the $500 price point, a phone needs to have no glaring flaws and a wide appeal which the G5 appears to lack. Were it in the $400-$500 bracket, I may well have bought it.

Tried to downgrade to 5.1.1. Don't know what it is, as it's not documented. But downgrading to 5.1.1 seems to be impossible for whatever reason. I absolutely can not get it to go no matter what i do. I nearly bricked my entire phone for a while. Installed TWRP via fastboot and it would tell me it couldn't mount any fucking system data or anything. fixed that via fastboot by fucking around, repaired the system partition via fucking backwords ass methods, got the cm13 nightly installed nice and cleanly on there now. booting up as we speak.

I'm starting to think fussing about future Android upgrades is pointless. The devices I've had in the past invariably ended up orphaned on an Android version that was half-heartedly implemented and then never bugfixed.

It seems to me, the best flavor of Android for a given device is usually the one it shipped with. There's just too many variables per device for OEMs to properly backport Android releases.

Is SD 652 good SoC? I heard lots of good things about 650, that it is what 808 should be. But how about 652? I'm looking at Alcatel Idol 4S specifically, looks like a perferct phone for me.

I had a Motorola XT890i which broke on me today. Figured It's about time to upgrade anyways.

Trying to find a smartphone with a really good DAC.
The best I could find from my research so far is the HTC 10 which has a sepperate AMP and DAC.

My biggest priority is audio because connecting a seperate AMP/DAC would be annoying. The less shit I have to carry around the better.

Battery life, durability, and charge time comes second.

Performance comes third so long as it doesn't run like a turd.

Are there any phones out there that are better tailored to my requirements?

So I'm completely new to Android and want to root my LG K4, but there seems to be fuck all information on how to do so other than using Kingroot and Kingoroot, which I've tried, but can't seem to get SuperSU to work so I can get rid of them afterwards. How do I into rooting this shit without getting fucked by the chinese?

mainly: nova launcher. there's an code level bug in android 6.0 that fucks with the way some things in nova animates.

i actually just learned that nova finally released an update with a root workaround, so what i ended up doing was going with exodus rom, which comes rooted from the get go.

as a matter of fact, the amount of customization in this rom compared to cm nightlies has me recommending it over anything. works pretty much just like stock moto out of the box, but you can literally tweak everything, even every single action of the onscreen buttons and everything. it's fucking amazing.
