The camera is rather disappointing compared with the OP3.
Also video recording is rather bad, the OIS is worse than OP3, also autofocus is too slow.

Battery life is worse than OP3.

ZTE is not renowned for its software support, and the community outsides of China is pretty much non-existing.

We won't know until it comes out. The Chinese variant has a bad camera, in many ways worse than OP3 and is known to throttle similar to some of the other SD820 devices but is otherwise supposedly really great,
The US device is meant to come out with some hardware changes (capacitive buttons) and updated software because ZTE is desperate to look good in the US market.
Also keep in mind ZTE normally sells the Axon 7 for $450 in China but had to drop the US price to $400 because they wouldn't be able to compete with OP3 otherwise.
This phone can be god tier or crap, and we won't know until the US version comes out.

Getting my first smartphone before the end of the year. Have had the same dumbphone for like 10 years now but have to change because my carrier is dropping 2g support. Didn't upgrade before because of lack of caring but figure since I have to now I should go balls deep.

Problem is that there is a ton of android phones to choose from and I have no idea what is good. The things I'm use to with my old phone aren't really feasible (like days of battery life or the really small size) so not really trying to target them. Don't take pictures much so don't care about the camera. Do listen to music a lot so want a phone that is good with that. Price isn't really an issue and I will try to keep whatever I get for as long as I can again. Longer battery life is wanted but I know it's not something that smart phones are good with. It's unfortunately true but in reality most Android phones come with bloat but Samshit seems to do it more. Anyway just install Nova launcher, this will get rid of most of the lag the touchjizz UI causes, and just disable the apps you don't want/need. None of this requires root btw.
