What BSD related stuff are you working on /g/?
>Should OS X/MacOS be allowed in BSD threads? What about Darwin?
no, OSX/MacOS is allowed in

Is any BSD actually usable for desktops now?
>>55685128
Yeah, give PC-BSD a try. It's directly based off the latest release of FreeBSD and aims for user friendliness. It's for *BSD to what Ubuntu is for GNU/Linux.

topkek

It only lacks in vidya like GNU/Linux did pre-2013. There is quite a bit of software for PC-BSD because it's based off FreeBSD along with lots of software for Open/Net/whateverBSD.
im pretty sure these threads only exist to trigger that autist who gets really buttravaged at BSD
but that's just my opinion
>>55685528
That's his problem, BSD is UNIX and I see no reason it shouldn't be talked about.

ded OS
Oh another OS...oh wait it's fragmented like Linux...Yeah fuck that noise.
>>55686368
you don't force BSD discussion
again im sure this thread was made to trigger a specific person
>>55686410
it's ironic that despite the permissive license, it's somehow less fragmented than linux
i don't know where you got that from
I'm gonna format my computer and I'm either gonna install Debian or FreeBSD. Never used either, but with FreeBSD I could pretend to be superior to lincucks because they don't even have jails. I'm pretty sure you could make lots of retards rage with the jails.
Does anyone use OpenBSD for desktops or is it just good for servers?
>>55686514
As good as FreeBSD is, you'll be very lucky to get a good working desktop system. If you can get it to work, that's great, it's just not that simple.
Keep in mind that their slogan is "The Power to Serve".

OpenBSD comes with 3 WMs by default and a sound subsystem.
You tell me.
But to answer your question seriously, the devs even use it on their laptops.

>Should OS X/MacOS be allowed in BSD threads? What about Darwin?
Only if people are working with BSD-relevant parts of the system.
>>55685259
well, os x is bsd, and unlike FOSS OS is useable :-)
Just switch to Linux already
