I bought a Cube i6 for less than $150 last year for the sole purpose of reading mango. I did use it to code with an external portable keyboard, but other than that, nothing else. I do use it a lot however, the evergrowing backlog is never satisfied.

windows tablets, unless you're getting one with an active digitizer and plan to use regularly (artist, designer, architect, etc) are not worth it

and even then you should only get it when you move around a lot, otherwise if you spend most of the time on your home/office on a desktop, a digitizer display is much more suitable

if you're not a designer and need a portable solution to work, then a lightweight laptop is much better, nothing can replace a real keyboard fixed to the screen which you can place on your lap or move around without any detachable hinges or supports when the screen is heavier than the keyboard


if you only want a tablet to view media and browse the web, an android or ipad will do
