I have a problem with the desktop version - hyper links won't open when I click them. I have Chrome set as my default browser (inb4 botnet) and tried running the program as admin, but neither helped.

About a month ago I had a serious injury that resulted in my spinal cord practically shattering. That's an exaggeration, but the point is I'll be confined to my bed whenever I'm not undergoing physical therapy for the next few months.

I'm normally a neet piece of shit that masturbates all day, so I'm already extremely bored since I'm limited to using my outdated garbage phone. I can't even watch television since I have to lie perfectly flat on my back or else it's extremely agonizing.

So I had this great idea of getting a projector and using it to project my desktop onto the ceiling, letting me comfortably use it from bed. But I know very little about projectors.

I've been going that route for years and have noticed that it isn't the best in the long run as shit sometimes gets moved or suddenly gets a lot harder to find, especially more recently. I've got a question concerning grep.

I have some address data in an asc file as simple text. The first 30 characters are for the name. If the name is shorter than the 30 characters whitespaces fill it up to ensure its length is 30. At position 31 is a whitespace to seprate the name from the next data which is the address. After the address is also a whitespace and some other data. My plan is to retreive the address, which starts at index 32 and continues to index 50. All i tried led to only getting nothing or always the data beginning at the start of the line.

Is it possible to retreive my substring like that? I can't search for a certain pattern since every set of Data is different except the whitespaces which seperate the data. I prefer to use grep since performance is an issue.

I'm getting a weird problem with a movie I downloaded from rutracker, it keeps playing both audio tracks (Russian and English) over each other and it's annoying as hell. I played the audio just by itself and it works fine, but the audio with the movie and it's fucked. Any ideas?

Last night I overheated my computer (left it turned on inside a cabinet) and my mobo died. I already tested all other parts in another computer and they all work.

It's an ECS A55F2-M3 (V1.0)

I try to turn on the computer and it does, for 1/4 of a second. After that I use the button and nothing.

Is there a way to save the mobo? I don't see any physical damage.

Shit's still on warranty, but how can I convince costumer support that the card is faulty? How can I even be 100% sure?

Shit drops to 45 fps even on TF2 sometimes paired with an i5 4690k.

More insight, it always happens on startup, after launching the game a couple of times it works fine. It also didn't happen last year when I built the computer.

So I presumed that they probably always can know which customer has particular IP at the moment based on their telephone/cable or something that they can uniquely identify which customer is it.

Is this right? A - Maybe relevant if their GPU is complete shit, but even the Intel GPU on my Core Solo handheld from 10 years ago decodes and plays 1080p video just fine. Also good luck replacing the GPU on most laptops.

B - You could install a USB sound card if the sound quality from the onboard one is poor, but the question said the laptop's performance decreases while playing multimedia files. It didn't say the sound quality was bad.

C - Again, possible but not likely. Any modern CPU will consume little enough of its resources playing any reasonable file that you won't notice much performance hit. Even a freaking Atom.

A 3 TB drive will technically work fine with any mobo, but if you plan on using Windows you'll need a UEFI board to use any more than 2 TB of it.

Windows stupidly only supports MBR partitioning when booted from BIOS, and MBR maxes out at 2 TB. If booted from UEFI, Windows supports (and requires) GPT partitioning, which can handle larger disks.

Note that this is a Windows issue. Every BIOS will happily boot from a GPT partitioned disk. Hell, you can even partition your old 386's 250 MB disk with GPT. BIOS does not care. It just needs to see that 55AA signature at the end of sector 1, then it loads the sector and executes the code at the start of it. GPT supports all of this, and Linux w/ GRUB will happily boot from this.

Fucking why? You don't need a powerful gaming laptop for CS unless you want to game on it too.

The biggest things I'd consider for CS are
* Keyboard - Is the layout usable and does it feel good to type on. You're programming so you're gonna by typing a lot.
* Screen - Consider size and resolution. I'm not gonna make a recommendation. Pick by what works for you. Most will want a higher resolution to have more desktop space, but it also makes everything smaller unless you turn up the DPI scaling, which sucks in Windows. Larger screens are more comfortable but make the laptop bulkier.
* Size and weight - If you want to carry it to class with you, small, thin and light is very good. You sacrifice some screen size and power but it's well worth it.
* Battery - Will it last long enough or will you always be searching classrooms for outlets and camping out in the back to plug in?
