These are 10-15 year old models that nowdays no company with serious IT infrastructure would use! I mean when the SNAP 4200 (i think the one without the facia is also a SNAP) came out Windows XP was the latest/new MS OS and the proliant server you got there is from 2007 - 2008. I am not even going to comment on the networking equipmnet and the state of all of your equipment.

Nothing wrong with that just this is not enterprise hardware, it is barely good for home lab use actually.

yesterday, sleepdeprived, slightly drunk and bored me decided to browse ebay to pass time, and ended up buying a dell poweredge T110 II (i know its a tower, but this is the closest thread) for $230 with the following specs:

intel xeon E3-1220 quad core
4GB 1333mhz ECC DDR3
4 x 300 GB 15K rpm SAS
single gigabit ethernet port, and so on.

i just want to know your oppinion on the price, i was surprised myself, mostly because i have no money at the moment but i guess that i don't have to pay for my hosted dedicated server now.

Currently just using a ProLiant Micro G8 (Xeon 1240v2, 16GB RAM, 8x 2TB, 4x 4TB) and a pair of the HP 8 port switches designed for said Micro. Running Plex, a pair of 2012 r2 DC's, DHCP, DNS, Team Foundation Server, SQL, and Windows System Update Service. Mostly just Plex. It works...
