That way you will still hit your weakly weight loss goals.

>>
>>42736465
As I posted a thread or two ago, if it makes you feel bad stop doing it. Find what works for you.

Different ways to "cheat" without running your progress

-Eat at TDEE

-Eat at a deficit, but eat food you love even if it's bad for you

-Eat back your calories from exercise, if you track that

-Eat intentionally less for two meals during the day, and then have one huge cheat meal while staying at /under TDEE

-Eat whatever you want but make your day very active, spending a lot of time working out or walking long distances. This is helpful on a vacation, for instance.

You can do this in a way that you don't have to feel guilty about.

>>42736510
Solid idea. Build up extra deficit during the week and then spend it, very nice.

>>

you must be eating a lot more than you think you are, log more accurately and buy a scale to weigh your food. Also maybe a lot of it is salt, drink more water.
>>
>>42736743
Eat at TDEE for a few days when you stall. It helps your body adjust. I stalled for like 3 weeks and eating at TDEE for a weekend sorted me out

I've gained 10 lb in a day. Salt, Glycogen depletion, food in your belly and intestines, water you've just drank. Lots of things effect weight and often you're not actually as light as you think you are.

>>42736797
Think about this, a pound is about 3500 calories. Do you think you've eaten 21000 calories in a week? It's most likely water weight. Drink more water

What is the point of cheat meals if they make you feel miserable and fat afterwords?
>>
>>42736880
We have no context for that, but if you've just eaten maybe give yourself some time to digest and the hit the gym.

The answer to "Should I go to the gym?" is basically always yes.

So that you don't binge and ruin all your progress. But again, if they make you feel miserable you are doing it wrong.

Alright lads im ready to be told off by you all but can I just run some things by you.
First off my stats
Height: 5'6
SW: 212lb
CW: 175lb
1st GW: 154
True GW: 140

Ok so basically I havent been doing any proper exercise except doing planks and dumbell curls, overhead tricep extensions and some flys.

Basically my plan is to get to 154 then from there hit the gym hard to lose that last stone while also putting on some muscle and to regain any muscle loss that I have lost over the course of my weight loss.

Now I know that lifting while losing is probably the correct thing I should have been doing but the past 2 times I tried to lose weight I hit the gym from day 1 of my lifestyle change and failed both times due to being ravenous on gym days. Thats why I've opted for this plan. Could it work?

as long as you lift later, I dont see why not. It's what I'm doing anyways
>>
>>42736908
It will work if you actually do it. Why wouldn't it?

If you lift and keep lifting it will build muscle eventually. You should have started earlier but if that would have been too much it's fine.

But if you want to really build muscle you have to do more than the routine you posted.
>>
What method is best for doing HIIT to burn fat, bike, treadmill or elliptical?
>>
>>42736817
At that weight probably not.

>>42736908
Those lifts won't do much for you. I would recommend doing the good compound weights and eating food that's less calorie dense, maybe even bump up your intake.

>>42736939
You need to spend as little time as possible there.
>>
>>42736817
I noticed when I was out of the obese bmi and in the overweight, running no longer hurt
>>
>>42737005
I do a HIIT spinning class twice a week, which has been pretty good for me. I think the main thing is that you need someone yelling and keeping you going instead of just the little workout computer.

How do i survive a relapse ? Two months lost in a moment. I just want to die
>>
>>42737938
you have to decide how hard to you want to lose weight and how important it is to you.
>>
>>42737938
You can't let a relapse define who you're going to be the rest of your life. You control the cravings. Get back on that horse tomorrow.
>>
>>42737938
If you honestly feel that all your work was worthless because of a mistake, that's why you feel like you can't survive.

If it was "a moment" it was probably just a big meal. Let's say you ate 6,000 calories.

That didn't destroy two months of work. Just get back to work, and have manageable treats (I'm starting to think the term "cheat" is part of the problem here) that fit in your TDEE occasionally.

>>
>>42738283
Yeah it's like actually your weight/height^2 or something. It's pretty good for measuring populations because most people fall into a pretty small range in regards to amount of muscle mass. It's good for individuals in most cases too, but if you've been lifting for years or something it will matter less.
>>
>>42737928

First time posting after lurking these threads a lot. Thanks for the inspiration. I weighed myself for this week and I'm lighter than I have been in over a decade.
Started off this year pushing 290 pounds. As of right now I am 253 pounds. It's been a slow process and I gained a great deal back a few months ago but I'm back on the horse so to speak.
I'm taking a beautiful girl to a wedding this next month and I hope that I can lose some more weight to look nice. It's good to have a goal.

TL;DR Thank you for these threads. I wish all of you lighter steps in the near future.

So I'm reading the sticky and it says if trying to lose weight to target 1.5g of protein per pound of body weight.

I weigh about 230 (down from 270) and I'm trying to be more studious about what I eat outside of general calorie restriction. That's 345g of protein a day.

How does one even get near that goal? I have whey coming in this week, and I know the usual suspects (chicken breast, greek yogurt) - but still it seems like a lot?

Anyone have tips?
>>
I only stuck to my diet two non consecutive weeks in the summer , yet everyone says I lost weight .
How could this be? (They didn't know I was dieting btw)
>>
>>42740298
losing weight is about the caloric intake, I didnt even measure how much protein I ate, but I'm sure it wasnt that much

Just worry about eating under your TDEE

>>42740315
I thought there wouldn't be any noticeable effects for that period of time. Suppose I was wrong. Still got a month till uni so will try harder to stick to calorie restriction
>>
>>42740310

I'm very strict about that, in general I always try to overestimate my intake, and even so I'm typically 1000 calories or so under per day. Of course I could still be way off, but I try.

Been stuck lately. I've ramped my exercise way up (~75% more calories burned) - and trying to figure out what else to do.
>>
>>42740329
Use an app like myfitnesspal to make sure, it's better to have it recorded instead of things you remember because you may forget that you ate something like a snack then you could accidentally over eat
>>
>>42740337

I do use an app and always log everything I eat.

I know I'm probably just at a plateau, and I will stick to it. But in the meantime just trying to ensure I'm making a good effort at it.
>>
>>42738083
No, but you can eat it and then throw it back up. That's called bulimia, though. Personally, I wouldn't recommend it.

Don't worry about how quickly it happens. Rushing is a good way to fuck yourself up. If you're serious about the change, the speed shouldn't matter because it's gonna be permanent anyway. Teach yourself the habits you'll need to keep the weight off.

1kg a week is pretty much the max you'd want to be at for safe, sustainable weight loss anyway.

Pic related: I just tried on new clothes in a shop for the first time in a year, and since my weight loss began. They didn't fit at all, and I was a little bummed. But this cheesy bullshit motivational slogan actually reminded me this was a long term thing.

No problem with caffeine, but coffee is rough on stomach, especially empty. Chewing also tricks stomach into thinking it's going to get food, therefore creating more acids that can hurt the stomach when there's no food to digest.

Fuck. I was hoping to scrape by on two protein shakes a day and then a meal, but I don't think I'll be able to hold to that. A week and a half in, and I'm waking up exausted, and more so every day. For a while my hunger disappeared, and my weight started to drop at a nice speedy pace, but my deficit must have been too high.

I looked myself a proper breakfast (bacons, eggs, mushrooms), and feel a lot more awake and sturdy. I was going to allow myself a coffee, as I've also been off caffine (from five coffees with two sugars a day) for about a week, but instead made myself a peppermint tea.

I'm still going to try and stick to it, but I'll add some mutlivits, and the occasional day where I have more than one small meal of meat and veggies. I'm enjoying seeing the pounds drop off.

Skinnyfat fag. I know this is >>>/fat/ but likely you guys have the answers I'm looking for. OP's calculator has it that I eat 1800 calories a day in order to lose a pound a week on top of my cardio (3 to 4 times a week, a combination of HIIT and or LISS depending on the day). My BMR is 1700 and my TDEE is 2400.

However I've been eating at about 1500 daily and some days less than 900 for intermittent fasting. Is this bad? Am I going to be experiencing a metabolic slowdown where my body uses less than BMR because I'm eating lower? Should I do a keto diet or supplement an ECA stack to counter this if it's a real thing? Just want to lose this fucking stomach fat that looks horrid.

You can do a 1000 deficit if you are a couch potato but then you'll lose weight and get flabby. Better eat -500, lift and look great than eat -1500 and look like you are melting
>>
>>42742761
If you are turbo fat then eating that low while exercising might be too difficult and make you relapse more often, try 2100 for a week or two and see how much you lose.
>>
>>42742761
2200 mate you'll be looking gucci in no time
>>
>>42742761
Mine is around 2800 and I've been eating at around 1800. I don't work out much yet and the big deficit also allows me to eat a bit more now and again.
But yeah it depends on what else you do. 500 plus a good workout is great.

I thought I'd make some homemade ham and bean soup today.
How do I make eye gains? I had to leave the kitchen two times because my eyes were burning so badly.

Use contact lenses.
I can chop evey onion in the world without a single tear but when I'm wearing my glasses to do it I want to tear out my eyes after ten seconds.
>>
>>42743086
Keep your onions in the fridge. Cold makes the liquids in the onion less viscous and less likely to burn your eyes.

Lost my job so living with parents at the moment, and yeah, this. Even my own mom seems to do this, I've become wary of it. I'm 250lbs and she says if I lose anymore weight I'll be "skin and bones" and offers to cook me things that she'll slather in oils and other stuff. She's pretty overweight and healthy but can't take any advice for shit without being offended and screaming. I need to get out of here.

I actually tried putting it in the freezer for half an hour or 40 minutes because I've heard it helps, but it didn't work here. Maybe I needed to keep it in longer or the onion was just too strong.

I just keep mine in the fridge all the time. I've never tried freezing them but freezing tends to break down plant's cellular walls so it affects the flavor.

I tell mine that every other day, she can do dick about it because I pay for my rent to her (barely 9% of my salary), I gave them money to fix the house (sum of 5 monthly salaries) and she really is a stupid cunt

Go for a walk. It will take you away from the smell and give you something to do in the meanwhile. Just don't use it as an excuse to eat brownies after your done. You'll gain more calories than you burned.

I feel like you could have one and be under your calorie limit, the issue is usually if you have 2, 3 ,4 12 etc. You could also get some stuff thats sweet and delicious but not rocket fuel. I usually go for single serving yogurt cups and pre-sliced fruit. Brownies are kind of overkill and insane in terms of calories. It would help you if your sister is a fatty.
>>
Its pretty normal for us who have parents from third world shitholes to criticize when someone is getting lean/thinner.

My mom used to say "you eat so little, are you depressed?" and shit during my cut.

When they arrived to first world and started working they could eat as much as they want compared to how poor they where before so everyone gets fat on mcdonalds because they think its luxury and love it. Being fat is also "nice" over there".

Fat people = rich people (who can afford food) = high status

thats how they thinking and its frustrating as fuck. Constant comments who I am looking "spooky" when im still overweight.

Not body weight, lean body mass.
Subtract the body fat percent (in pounds) from your weight and eat that.
Also no no one but steroid users see benefits of going above 1.2 g/pound, most get diminishing returns at 1 g.
Look in the /fit/ archive for people's opinions, but that piece of advice is the worst in the sticky.

6'1" and 220.1 lbs.

I have 49 days to lose as much weight as possible. I'm eating at 1800 kcal (-690~ deficit) and keto.

I do a kickboxing crossfit meme thing twice a day (1h burning between 400-600 kcal)

nsun's 5/3/1 4 days a week

Dog walk and running on weekends with Wednesday as a rest day.

Anyone see great results in a short time frame on keto? I don't need to be perfect, just lighter. Better at running and stronger.

Any other memes I can buy into? I'm also on a yhcl-c and ec stack.
>>

250-->235 (6'2) for August. Cheat weekend with friends made me feel fat as shit, though my weight this morning is still within normal fluctuation range. I've been having great success with 20/4 fasting, and I just got some better tupperware to bring salads and parfaits with me to work for even less excuse to "forget to bring lunch". Lifts are down like 5 lbs, but my cardio is increasing and I've been climbing 5.7s on the rock wall the past few sessions.

I'm hoping to be at 200lbs by new year's but if I keep this up I might get there a lot sooner. I hate running indoors or on a treadmill, though, so we'll see how my cardio game is when it gets colder outside.
>>
>>42744940

>>
>>42745727
>weed in moderation

>>
>>42745727
I smoke on and off, but when I'm smoking I smoke enough that I get some withdrawal symptoms when I quit. It's kind of nice desu because it makes dieting super free for a few days. I also don't binge when I'm stoned, so it doesn't really impede my weight loss. I either don't eat or jam myself full of something like cottage cheese so I'm not hungry the rest of the day.

Pretty sure being stoned as much as possible for a month then never for a month isn't moderation though, so I can't give you advice there.
>>
>>42745294
1. There is no evidence of widespread fasting by hunter-gatherers. It's pure speculation, largely based on false premises (i.e. sustenance based primarily on hunting and highly perishable foods, which is false)
2. Just because hunter-gatherers did something, does not mean you should, or that it's healthy
3. There is substantial evidence that starvation ("fasting") and rapid weight loss are unhealthy, both short-term and long-term
4. "Fasting" for purposes other than political or religious (i.e. as a universally accepted display of self-harm) is a masochistic eating disorder, a euphemism for intentional starvation, but more appealing to men because there are masculinity-associated overtones of self-control, self-reliance, references to tradition and ancestors (see point 1) and philosophical and spiritual significance (of which there is actually none). - In fact, you are simply doing a starvation crash diet hand in hand with self-harm like any teenage girl, you just call it "fasting" because you fashion yourself as some sort of half-monk half-caveman rather than the mental wreck you actually are
5. "Intermittent fasting" is a glorified euphemism for a binge-restrict eating disorder
