injured my shoulder so I've been taking a rest from lifting, had a family event followed by my birthday a couple days later, leftover birthday cake and Chinese takeout for the next few days. Managed to put on about 5 kg. Tried to get back on the diet and instead ate the last of the birthday cake and an ice cream. Keep the scale but just measure the averages week to week, not day to day. Daily scale weight is all over the fucking place but if you zoom out the weekly averages are spot on unless you're doing something wrong.

Yeah I've lost nearly 100 lbs in the last 16 months and every few months I'll have a week off where I don't go fucking crazy but eat normal shit - sadly I usually gain a few pounds which then take a week or 2 to get rid of - but for the chance of pace it's nice - plus to be honest, after a week I like getting back to my current style of eating/working out. I guess in my head I can't see myself ever really wanting to go back to the way things were so that makes it easier to get back on the horse again. Seems to work anyway for me at least.

Yeah I'd imagine it would effect everyone differently - I think once I got past the point of losing a lot, I realised that I was far happier now and would be even happier in the future with a better bod - plus, dunno bout you, but the mental clarity, self-confidence and general "good" all round feeling I get every day is worth keeping at it for life. I'm going to miss them /fat/, one even commented on my weight loss this morning and said keep going. I start back at Uni soon too- and honestly I'm petrified as I know it's a 9-5 schedule of lectures that will require loads of extra work in the evening, and I simply won't have time to do the 2 hours of cardio I currently do a day- plus I will likely have to eat a bit more.

I'm currently loosing a good 1kg a week, I know it'll just slow down, but I'm not looking forward to it.

Thanks anon, I'm tempted to pop back in early next monday to say goodbye and have one last swim before I leave.

My current plan is to do a mix of HIIT and longer runs (currently running 3/4 miles most nights- but know with some extra rest days away from running could easily bump that up to 6/7 miles) 3-4 days a week. I've been doing so much cardio to try and give myself a base that I can do a few good longer sessions a week as oppose to the 2 X 1hr sessions a day I do at the moment.

Thanks anon, we'll all make it sooner or later! It's just nerve wrecking to know that I'm back on the Uni treadmill soon that's put 20kg on my back over the last two years.

Cardio, a lot of cardio. Running while mega fat is dangerous, so use a bike. I started lightly jog/run at 220 @ 6'0.

No soda, don't even meme yourself with diet soda. If you truly want to be thinner it is extremely easy to remove from your life. Your body wants sugar and an apple or banana will quell your craving.

These are short tips but lastly you absolutely want to lift while cutting. But like the other anons said try reading the sticky

I know the number on the scale can fluctuate up and down due to water retention, salt, waste etc but this feels like it's getting ridiculous. I know I'm losing weight because clothes aren't as tight but the number has just been going down then back up again for the last 2 weeks despite eating sub 1000-1200 a day. I've lost a lot of weight before and it pretty much just melted off me with nothing like this happening. I'm heavier now than I was then.

I started at almost 240, got down to 219, last week I moved up again to 224, then after a week I got back to 219 only to be back at 222 today, maybe it's because I haven't pooped in a few days? I'm definitely counting right and weighing everything out. Should I just stop eating for a few days or wait it out and continue to eat normally? It's pretty frustrating, I'm never going to give up on this but I can't help but get annoyed at myself.

It's not even the snow that's the problem, it's that after December it starts to get real fucking cold with exposed parts of your face feeling mildly frostbitten and cold winds that seem to go right through any openings in your jacket straight to your bones. Everything gets covered in a permanent layer if ice that won't defrost in July and the streets/sidewalk are littered with half frozen layers of dirty black snow.
