Because it's been a shit year for bees and my girls ain't made enough for me to take.
>>
>>42380573
Because I don't need more sugar in my diet. At the end of the day honey is just a higher calorie version of honey with trace amounts of minerals and antioxidants.

You will never make it.

Honey is processed sugar, processed by bees. There's very little difference in how it's digested between it and table sugar. This is different from fruit, which is unprocessed and contains fiber and antioxidants that help digest the sugar more safely. Honey is not comparible to fruit.
>>
Too sweet for me, not a fan

it is.
we call bears "medvjed" or "honey-eater" in my language, i always thought that's some cartoon bullshit.
word of warning: it isn't. they can smell that shit for miles.

if they get what they want they're real courteous and just eat it and leave - they even make sure not to damage the combs too much. if they don't get their fix they throw a tantrum and wreck everything. fucking junkies.

>>
>>42384581
Sugar both improves mental concentration and helps stave off hitting the wall during strenuous physical activity. It's not essential in your diet, but to say that it has no uses or benefits is retarded.

>>
>>42384751
It's not ink black obviously. GMOs are banned in my country, also there is nothing but forest as far as the bees can fly.
>>
>>42384751
Out of curiosity where are you from?
>>
>>42384751
medvjed = Bosnia

figured it out never mind
>>
>>42384860
Yep.
>>
>>42384658
>It's not essential in your diet
That's just as retarded as what the shit the other anon is saying, your cells literally run on sugars. While your muscles can use byproducts of the breaking of fat, your brain can't use most of them except for ketones, which are emergency only, so the optimal brain is always going to be running on sugar unless you decide to go full keto and eat NO carbs at all (Because yes, ketofags eat sugars too.), which does bring its problems.
With all that aside, hypoglycemia kills and having really low sugar levels for prolongued amounts of time will take its toll, so there's that.
>>
>>42385023
We were discussing dietary monosaccharides.
>>
soughta related to honey I guess but who here drinks mead? I've had it before in the past and now I want start getting my viking mode going
>>
>>42382932
sorry my bad reading skills.. so.. you couldn't sell it even being proven to be quite a quality product?
>>
>>42385237

Odds are you had shit mead as there are very few true makers of it left. If you want to drink true old-fashioned mead, go to Norway or Finland. The shit that they call "honey wine" on the bottle is piss.
>>
>>42385255
Finding buyers is the biggest challenge when it comes to quality food where I'm from. People are simply too poor, if I knew a bunch of upper middle class moms then I could sell it.

I have a cousin who grows fruits - absolutely uses no chemicals/pesticides nor were any ever used on that plot of land, no pollution, high up in the mountains (which decreases yields but means a purer environment,) uses water from own well which is certificed pure, uses manure from own cattle which aren't given anything. It doesn't get more organic than that. He struggles to move strawberries at 2e per kilo. Which is 25% than the heavy metal and pesticide laden stuff they grow next to highways with liberal use of god knows how many chemicals.
>>
>>42385433
that's sad, where i'm from producers of great quality of honey are able to export their products, same goes for high quality fruits.

Although we have buyers, the good money come from exporting, maybe you could try something like this being you're near some rich european contries?

Like, you already proved your way of producing things, I bet some facebook showing of how you produce coupled with certificates and "just" someone who knows where to sell in mainland europe.. yeah.. it doesn't sound that easy =/

Good luck thought mate, if i lived near you i'd buy some!
>>
>>42383167
my flatmate's uncle gave him some raw manuka honey and it was dark as shit too, super tasty though
>>
>>42385366
dang it. I just googled mead here in Aus and its not looking bright. Ah well I guess I can stick to regular piss and get me council worker mode going
>>
>>42385492
In order to export fruit you need a lot of start up capital - permits, inspection fees, taxes, certificates, more permits, cooled storage, transport arrangements. Not worth it unless you have huge quantities. You can export it via intermediaries but they pay you 0.5e and then resell the stuff for 10, 0.5e exactly covers production and picking costs.

That's how I know all the fruit we export is probably shit tier - there is no way you can get decent enough yields to maintain production, let alone make a profit, on such low prices - unless you use every trick (pesticides, herbicides, no quality control) in the book.

Honey is a bit easier due to it's extremely long shell life. I actually sold 10kg to Germany - but if I want to make any kind of money I need a tax number so I can get the VAT refunded via the double taxation avoidance agreement. Might even do that.
>>
>>42384542
I'll buy some anon
>>
>>42383055
lol
>>
>>42385765
Where you at mate? How many kilos?
>>
>>42385790
That's not funny, bees get more aggressive the closer you are to the hive. At very short distances they sting everything in sight. Potentially fatal.
>>
>>42385804
I'll take a kilo and I'm in the US
>>
>>42380573

because its basically sugar
>>
>>42385821
>>42385765
I also live in the US and would be interested in buying a kilo

Sorry mates intercontinental shipping is a bit above my head right now. Plus: according to FedEx with tax, permits and shipping that would cost a shit-ton (+200$.)

>>
>eating bee puke
Yeah, nah.
>>
>>42380787
If that flows automatically, that's bad ass.
>>
>>42386171
Flow hive is actually incredible, like a magic trick.
Word of warning, it makes one part of the beekeeping process easier. Beekeeping is hard as fucking fuck, a huge time and money investment, and sometimes your beehive just decides to die. You'll still need to do regular maintenance on your hive.
But this definitely helps the extraction process.
>>
>>42383011
Fruit is processed by trees.
>>
>>42385954
>>honey was better than fructose syrup but worse than refined wheat starch
no it wasnt
>>
OP here. Why isn't anyone talking about all of the benefits it has on your overall health? Like eating locally sourced honey helps you not get fucked up if you have allergies.
>>
>>42386342
I remember a study that honey doubles absorption or something to help build muscles. Honey and peanut butter sandwiches are great.
>>
>>42386299

It's produced by trees, it's not processed by them. Fruit is a basic product made by the tree Honey comes from processing pollen.
>>
>>42386304

Did you read it?

http://jn.nutrition.org/content/132/11/3379/T3.expansion.html
>>
>>42386374

I eat it basically to help subdue my retardedly sensitive allergies, also one of the main reasons I lift. I started this thread to see if anyone else may have benefitted from it but it's lookin like more than half of this thread is full of faggots
>>
>>42386432
yes your point?
>>
>>42386507

You're better off eating white bread than honey, going by that study.
>>
I don't eat flavourful foods
>>
>>42386598
how do you infer that?
>>
>>42386627

By every measure of health being better in the refined wheat starch group.
>>
>>42386655

>>
>>42380573
I rub my body in honey to purity myself
>>
>>42386672

What do you think that means?
>>
>>42386732
literally the only statistically significant change is the vit e:tg ratio which could be interpreted as beneficial from cells importing more vitamin e from plasma lmfao
>>
>>42386433
There's a connection between lifting and allergies? I actually just got sick this week for the first time in about a year and I was wondering if my improved immune system is due to my healthier diet and more active lifestyle.
>>
>>42386769

So at best, honey is about as good as white bread.
>>
>>42381546
Sugar is the primary fuel the body can use. Your brain RUNS on glucose.
>>
>>42386377
Pollen: formed by meiotic microsporocytes in anther pollen sacs and accessible from the anther after dehiscence.

Honey: nectar collected and stored by bees.

Nectar: discharge on nectary cuticle found after production by the nectarial parenchyma from unloaded phloem sap.

It's no different from taking a piece of fruit after some mexican picks it at a farm and stores it in a truck to dump at the grocery store.
>>
>>42386858

It helps clear my sinuses and obviously my overall performance is inhanced by lifting almost every day. Cardio is great if you have allergies cause it forces your nasal passages to open up so you don't die when you can't breathe through your nose.

Also why I love summer. Heat helps my nose open up and smell the roses or good pussy
>>
>>42380573
I get locally produced honey from my farmers market. I put it in Muesli and Oatmeal.
It's almost orgasmic to taste, it's delicious.
