The advice I've always received is to not "eat back" the calories you burn during exercise. It's really hard to know how much you're truly burning so it's very easy to over-estimate your calorie allowance and end up gaining instead of maintaining.

Muscle loss during cuts is a meme unless you have both a lot of muscle and fat. If you're a regular overweight or skinnyfat guy, you probably don't have any significant muscle mass to begin with. You can cut 50-60% of your tdee and not lose any muscle mass depending on your body fat percentage. If you're at 20-25%+ bf, almost all of your weight loss will be fat.
Worry about muscle during and after a bulk.

I get my 90 grams of protein from around 900 calories, I think the most I got was 107g protein out of it. i have been in a heavy deficit for a while, so i had to work around reduced work capacity/fatigue/time. i broke my workouts from essentially SS+accessories to an upper lower, and really trying to emphasize smaller muscles and posture training. i didn't expect to gain a whole lot of muscle, but i knew i could even out some of the weaker muscles in the chain to make things better and safer.
lots of ab work, focus on your weak points, and do yer cardio. fasted, preferably.

water, brotein shakes, gum, and more dietary protein than needed (i shoot for 150-160g a day)

desu /fat/ was the biggest aid. the competition and weekly weigh ins helped push me a lot. also, don't be afraid to use a bit of caffeine if you're really dragging your ass.
stay honest, and stay active. if you overeat one day, do your best to brush it off and not let it happen again. shit happens, but one mistake leading to forfeit is a huge risk factor when losing a lot of weight. find a type of cardio you like the best, and do it. find a routine that will keep you in the gym, and follow it. find a bunch of meals you can fit into your needs, and track every piece of food you eat.

I work in an office, I have my own office, but I share it with someone else who I get along with really well, but they are often not here when I am and vice verse.

Today I took the six flight of stairs to my floor not once, but twice. Then at the end of the day I walked all eleven flights of stairs up and down. My legs felt like jello. Then in my office I did that thing where you pretend you're sitting in a chair, but you're leaning against a well. I did ten push ups and some lunges. I also took a long lunch and just walked around where I work. It is a sprawling campus with a lot of nice walk ways.

I think I did well! I've lost 4 lbs since the 27th of June.
