Four month progress from 273lbs/124kg to 240lbs/109kg. Honestly /fat/ if it weren't for the pictures I took I wouldn't even be able to tell a difference in weight. Hopefully for the next 20+ i will look better, I also still struggle with eating the right macros and I doubt I get enough protein in a day. My skin has gotten better, but Its still not great and I want to be a single skin tone for once in my life. I'm losing weight right now but I've never been super fat (my highest weight was 245). I eat normally a lot but I love to binge on cravings. I don't know if I can live a life where I'm literally on this type of diet constantly. I hate food only being fuel.

That is because it is an estimate. 3500 calories in a pound of fat and a pound of muscle has like 800 or something calories. We lost a variety of each plus water weight. It becomes not a matter of just weight loss times 3500 factored in to your tdee deficit. This is where long term calculations matter a great deal. If you just started a new program then I would just ignore the first 3wks of weight loss.

It is a normal thing. The body has controls in it to try to stay the exact same weight. It doesn't lose or gain unless it has to. Likes things the way they are until it has no choice.

One of the things you learn in fitness is fatties gonna fat (say they aren't eating much and doing a lot of exercise) and skinny fucks gonna lanky (saying they eat a lot and do little exercise).

Just don't count the exercise in your my fitness pal logs. Just hit your normal daily calorie goal. Exercise is extra and not recorded.

Well lads and lasses, I decided to be productive and make good use of my time researching this topic for my own personal interest, and made a very basic infographic on the fly on the topic of stretch marks.
I could have done better, gone into better details on the how and why of stretch marks, given perhaps definite orientation towards effective products, but I decided to go for a more scientific, nutritional way and actually break down the main components of said treatment so that anyone can find a product that has many of these ingredients within it overlapping. I haven't also explained the posologies but it would have taken me much longer. I am considering making a V2 on those topics I brushed by.
What are your opinions, /fat/ ? If anyone has suggestions on things to add that I might have not thought of, feel free to share so I can add it in the update.

IF studies have indicated that it is beneficial for weight loss. Water fasting seems to be a big meme right now but I hate the concept of it too much. My mum is mega religious and she basically does an IF fast every lent and loses a stone each time, she's done this for 40 years.

If you want to fast IF fasting is the way to go. But I only know about it from a 40 day dawn till dusk perspective.

This is a addressed multiple times in every thread that I get sick typing it. When you start a new program, usually by week 3 (but it depends) the weight loss just about stops or you might gain weight. Can be many reasons, from putting on muscles, water weight or even just your body adjusting to a new normal salt level. In any case this is where most people quit because it stops being easy to lose the weight.

I have pure Argan Oil so I'll use that. I don't know why I felt compelled to start using something else. I've been using this Aloe Vera moisturizer with alcohol in it for a few weeks. You could probably tie a couple bottles together and lift them by the string, and you could go for the big 2L bottles instead of the 1.5L ones, if they are easily available. You could also fill them with dirt, sand, or small rocks and then fill the space inbetween with water for maximum density, just make sure one isn't heavier than the other. I think small rocks would have the highest density, but they are also the hardest to come by if there is no river nearby. Finally, you may be able to get one of those 5L jugs used for storing motor oil through dumpster diving.

This. My parents would occasionally suggest dieting to me and I always shrugged it off or laughed. Over the past few years I finally started to notice how I ugly I looked. I would find pictures that I took from several years back where I looked decent and would convince myself I wasn't that bad. But if I ever saw a picture someone else took, especially from a side angle, I would get really fucking depresed.

Plenty of people start it with 7 days a week, never heard someone starting out with only 2.
Now does it actually affect metabolism, probably not.
It does however make you accustomed to only eating one or two times a day.
This means you can be more careful with the few times you eat, making healthier options easier.
It also cuts out snacks, since you can't mentally justify them since they aren't in your feed window.

Would recommend trying it for a month or two, first week or two will be weird but then you will acclimate.
Afterwards decide if weightloss is easier or not with it, personally I used to do it but now I have a light breakfast.

At my heaviest, I was 280 pounds. After a 8 month long cut, I dropped to 185, and then I got a lazy for a year and went back up to 220. Eventually got back into lifting, and after 5 months of lifting and watching my diet, I'm currently at 226.

The reason why I'm bulking is I decided to try and get a bit more muscle before losing a bunch of weight again. But I like to browse /fat/ because I feel like it's usually a nice thread/general and helps remind me to eat well. I'm not super obese like I once was, but I always told myself I wouldn't go back to it. It's also because I was in such a state that I can't make fun of obese/overweight people trying to lose weight themselves, and I like to encourage the behavior, even if I'm not perfect either.

I'm 27 years old. I believe in taking care of myself, and a balanced diet and a rigorous exercise routine. In the morning, if my face is a little puffy, I'll put on an ice pack while doing my stomach crunches. I can do a thousand now. After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. You're probably going to be losing a bunch of muscle as you cut, it's a bit of an inevitability. Sometimes you can get lucky and still get some nooby gains while cutting if you're a bit new, but otherwise don't be too surprised when you can bench, say, 155 pounds one month, and struggle to do so after dropping a few pounds.

I've heard of some people cutting quite a bit of weight, bulking for several months (while making sure to carefully check what they're eating) and then going back on a cut just so there isn't as big of an impact on the body, but there are several ways to do it. Just know however much you decide to cut, to gain muscle, you'll have to eventually bulk some more, then cut more weight, then continue to bulk, until you get the body type you're aiming for. It's a slow process, but it just takes dedication.

i finally decided to eat healthy for a cut and while i was steaming some frozen vegetable i opened the fridge to get the vegetables and an old can of icecream literally fell out the freezer on the floor, it was the old type of icecream where it has huge ice crystals all over the top. i put it in the sink under some tap water to melt and drain it all down the sink but after melting the top layer i decided to have a taste with my stir fry utensil and it was actually still ok tasting with a slight taste of freezer burn and then i kept tasting other parts and then before i knew it i ate the rest of the nasty old ice cream

Nah I don't know anything about you so I can't say what you should aim for. If you think protein is your issue then 50 grams (100 calories) of chicken will get you 15 grams of protein. In my experience canned shredded chicken is perfectly tender and tasty. Very convenient.

If protein, carbs, and essential mineral deficiencies like iron might be your issue then you should look into eating some fucking beans. Plus they're the highest source of antioxidants calorie for calorie.
