tomorrow's my recovery/rest day from lifting. After doing strength for days straight, I'm too sore to continue and need it. However, should I still take my 2 scoops of whey protein for the day, and will doing a lot of cardio slow down my upper body lifting recovery in any way?

So I need to have an 8 minute mile for Army testing coming up. Right now its about 10 minutes.

I've now dropped my weight lifting routine (PPLPPLx) and switched to a full cardio and body weight routine.

I'm running 5 miles a day, walking the dog for 30m a day and doing a 3 mile ruck march at 60 lbs to try and shore it all up but I struggle with sustaining a run for very long.

I just cleaned out all my old clothes. And not in a good way /fat/. I won't get all gushy here but I used to be a really bad binge eater. It was my coping mechanism due to a less than optimal childhood. I was 458lbs. I was doing good /fit/, I really was. I got down to 278lbs. Life came and kicked me in the balls and like a disgusting fucking junky I found myself falling backwards into my old ways. Eating way too much all the time. Skipping work outs. I'm back at 350lbs like the fat fuck I am. I'm trying to get back in the swing of things and I kept seeing all my old clothes as yet another failure.

2 years worth of jeans, shirts, sweaters. Easily $2k+ worth of shit is going to the salvation army tomorrow morning in trash bags. This doesn't mean anything to anyone except for me, I just needed to vent a little.

How short of an eating window is too short for intermittent fasting?

Can I eat ~1500 calories within a 4-hour window after I wake up and fast for the other 20?

then no, it isn't cheating. If you go over, then yes, it is. it's possible to successfully cut eating ONLY McDonald's, although probably not much fun.

shit, I could literally shove half a stick of butter in my mouth and down it with spoonfuls of sugar and still theoretically hit my macros for the day if I just ate straight protein. It wouldn't be very tasty, or pleasant, and it certainly wouldn't be a recommendable diet, but I technically wouldn't be cheating. If you can eat the breakfast and still hit your goals, and you really want to (it seems like you want to), then do so. It'll take some adjustments to your daily plan but that's all.

On the other hand if you lack willpower, and you know it, and you're just going to end up with a large Coke and two breakfast burritos and a pancakes meal, then just steer clear of that den of temptation.

I'm definitely replacing fat with muscle and I'm losing around 2 lbs a week. I was I was losing more weight faster, but this will do. I'm hoping I can get through this phase faster (cutting at 1500 calories a day) so I can get back to maintenance (2300 calories.)

There hasn't been a huge drop on the scale but my collar bone is noticeable and my muscles are becoming more defined. People are mentioning that I look better and I'm getting mires from women I am actually into.

Best part: I get set up on a surprising amount of dates and the women I'm starting to get set up with are getting much better looking. The low point was a fatty femenist. I'm convinced she was my friends way of saying I need to lose weight.

I forgot to weigh myself today but I started at 227 about 2 months ago and I'm down to 212 now. I'm 6ft. I'm going up in bench, ohp and deadlift. I need to start doing squats because the goal is to get THICC.

I took ground turkey and mixed it with sone cubed cheese, salt, pepper, garlic, a beaten egg and a small amount of breadcrumbs. Mixed till it was all combined, but mass on baking sheet and cooked it till done. Added 1 tablespoon of barbecue sauce and broiled.

Had to go back to the hospital, missed my blackbelt dinner but got to make the action day, despite being off to the side as a civilian. At home again, feeling better but not 100% recovered. Are so much shit feeling down about no gym/the above/sickness and just wallowed in bed. Didn't drink though so that's a bonus. I started with eating taco bell everyday, just keeping on track using MFP app. I moved to IF because i was having hard time sleeping due to late night hunger pains. It also helped me add some wiggle room to accumulate a "cheat" day once a month somtimes twice if i was really good at keeping under my daily limit. Its easy to do if you plan your meals weekly instead of daily. Also i moved to a weekly total expenditure instead of the typical tdee, which made life so much easier in the long run.

Now i dont need to count shit, and have still lost weight.

Weird question for you guys, I don't really know how to phrase it but I'll try my best. Are there any other factors to losing "Fatness" besides just weight? Like does it take time for the body to absorb the used up fat cells after you lose weight?

I know that doesn't make sense, basically what I'm asking is I've lost a shitload of weight recently, and now I'm at the point where I weigh less than most of my friends (of similar height.) Like, significantly less, 20 lbs less than a guy that's an inch taller than me, and 15 pounds less than a guy that's my same height. But I still LOOK way fatter than they do. Like my gut & thighs are bigger and flabbier.

Is that something that's just gonna go away over time? I'm still in the process of losing weight, but I'm only about 25 pounds from my goal, which would put me right in the middle of the "healthy" BMI category, and it just seems like all the shit that's still hanging onto my body weighs a lot more than 25 pounds.

I'd appreciate any input you guys might have.

Many reasons why you might look fatter. Loose skin, high body fat percentage, genetics (where the fat likes to store itself). You asked about fat cells but that is not the issue here, although it is interesting as such. You see, wiping out fat cells is extremely slow, so slow it becomes insignificant. As you lose weight, the fat cells are dried out. However they aren't gone. the surgery itself?
it's an interesting method of treating a symptom rather than a cause. Pretty primitive in that respect.
The tools to do it have come a long way in recent years, so that's interesting.

The people that have it done?
From what I can gather they tend to be in two distinct groups.
Either 500lb+ immobile people who simply refuse to eat less, even when their life hangs in the balance. These people are human scum. I can't think of another word to describe them. If eating all the time is worth more to you than existence then just kill yourself already and stop being a blight on those whom are obligated to look out for you.
And 30-40 year old people just borderline in the obese category whom "diet's just don't work for". These usually pay for the surgery privately and insist that they could do it without the surgery, but life is cruel and physics are wrong. And it's totally NOT the easy way out.
I don't hate the latter group, I just think they're lazy and self righteous.

That's the problem. Yeah I do lift, but for whatever reason even though I now weigh less than most of my friends, I still look worse than them. Stretch marks aren't really a problem, I've got some but they aren't all that noticeable. But I'm still chunky as fuck in my gut and my thighs. I feel like I'll get to my goal and still look fat, not skinnyfat but literally fat, even though I'll be at a healthy bmi level. By my math I've got about two months until I get there. At that point if I'm still having the issue I'll probably go check in with my doctor and see what they say.

For the last 2-3 weeks I have binged like 4-5 times
On other days I kept my diet on point, so I didn't gain weight, but probably didn't lose either
Now I'm not fat anymore, in fact I almost have sixpacks and am leaner than everyone around me but fucking fatty instincts are still there, and they are annoying me

How do I get rid of this? Just pushing through doesn't seem to help, I just binge a few days later. Stopping in the middle of binge and throwing food didn't help yesterday either, I lost control today again.
Do you think it may have to do with stress? I had finals and some other shit going on.

Will I be ok? What can I do to be ok?

my bf is in the 15-20 bf% range because he just finished a bulk. He looks a lil fluffy at that weight but has muscle so he still looks good. Don't be too surprised if you have to cut down to 170-180 range until you no longer look fat. That's another 50lbs, 50lbs is a lot of fat so it's no wonder that you don't look good right now. hey, Im struggling with the same, I might have found a solution. Ill share, even though maybe you are already doing this. Learn to love veggies, Im eating a tomato as I write this, its delicious. Ive realized that I binge when Im bored, I just want something in my hands, or If you are stressed, you want to feel full. So Im on the process of doing this very thing with veggies.

Maybe it includes BMR for that time but regardless, the math checks out. According to the numbers this app keeps track of I have a weekly deficit of ~14,000, and every week I lose about 4 pounds like clockwork. Assuming a pound is roughly 3500cal, it works.
