The weight compresses your joints and air squats are quicker/more repetitive. You're also not thinking about your form, which varies slightly compared to barbell squats. Each rep you think about maintaining perfect form so you don't go to snap city.

4. pre-bed, a big apple 120kcal, can of tuna in water or 2 slices of whole grain rye bread, 130 kcal.

Do 10 pushups to burn off the extra 30 kcal.

Carry cabbage leafs and a thermos in your cargo pants so any time the hunger gets unbearable you can munch on them and follow with hot tea.

Finally broke through my plateau of 163-165. Hit 160 on the scale for the first time since I cut last summer. All it took was 2 weeks of tracking/weighing precisely to nail it down.

Vegetable stir fry or steamed veggies. I'm personally not that big of a fan of salads. Stir trying or steaming the vegetables allows you to keep a lot of it's nutrients.

You can get frozen vegetables that you can microwave in it's bag or just cook it frozen if you're pressed for time and don't feel like cutting them up/washing them.

uggh not really. Just season how you want or better yet find a store made marinade in low-fat/carbs, basically low fat is more important than lower carbs and marinade chicken breasts with the excess fat cut off in that for 24-48 hours. Steamed bags of mixed veggies or broccolli, cauliflower, asparagus heads, and other leafy green vegetables will run you about 100-200 for the full bag. Mix throughout the day with slices of low fat deli meats, turkey, chicken breast, sometimes ham, pickles (high sodium, water retention and cardiovascular issues), sugarless gum (no more than 5 pieces a day) and that's pretty much it. If you've been good throughout the day try and find a bbq sauce or other condiment you like with low caloric stats to use on your chicken in veggies otherwise i sparingly use reduced sodium lawry's season salt. Dinner 1 chicken breast, bag of veggies. If i'm feeling like sugar I try a calorie free drink with the lowest sodium I can find. If not, halo top no more than half a pint because its somewhere between 120-200 calories depending on the variety. GL anon

i do cardio for 20 mins mon-thurs and work my arms on friday and do squats saturday

for my arms i do 3x15 bicep curls, 3x15 shoulder presses, 3x15 arm raises, and am thinking of adding in bench presses

for the squats i just do 3x15 with a 25lb kettlebell.

The only thing muscle soreness is an indicator of is how sore your muscles are. It has nothing to do with muscle growth.

That being said, why don't you try something as close to the program in the sticky as possible? You could do three days a week, but bench press and OHP same day is going to impact the progress of those lifts.

I'd look online for a dumbell program if all you have is dumbells/kettlebell. Find the program that works for you and stick to it religiously.

How accurate is this navy BF calculator and is that really my best option? My gym has this machine that you step on barefoot while gripping two handles with your thumbs on sensors that's supposed to be decently accurate in giving out LBM, BF, water weight, etc. I remember at around 210-220 (I can't fucking remember) that machine said I was 30.3% BF. I weighed 193 today which is the lowest I can remember in at least 10 years so I was curious as to what my BF was. The machine ended up not working when the trainer and I tried it twice and because the gym is about to close I said fuck it. I did the measurements for the Navy BF and it says 14%. I can only remember measurements I've done recently for a shirt fitting for my neck 16.5 (rounded to 17) and I recently have been comfortably fitting in size 34 jeans.

14% seems way too low. I can see outlines of my abs and maybe some definition, but I think I'm hallucinating and can't really stand to look down towards my lower stomach and groin due to stretch marks. I want to see if I can get low BF and actually see a decent body on me, but right now I look like one of those bear mode guys whose abs stick out like a bunch of bricks and then curves around the stubborn fat around my rape handles.

I have a month or so before I start working. My ideal weight is 125-130, basically all my fat is centered in my midsection (lel no hips, small butt/boobs, average legs, but.... tummy).

get the my fitness pal app and use it to track your calories, protein, carbohydrate and fat intake.

its pretty simple you tell it you want to lose wait and how much per week or something. It automatically calculates how many calories you eat a day and voila.

To be safe I'd calculate my maintenance calories by hand which if I remember correctly is between 14 and 17 times your body weight. This is how many calories you have to eat a day to maintain the weight you are at forever and ever.

eat 300 calories less than that, and go to the gym. Try everything. Work hard. Find a program you enjoy. you'll notice a difference in a month. other people will notice it in 2 or 3.

Here's my normal day from before:

I've been baking fresh loafs of bread and making my own pasta.

My Doctor told me I was pre diabetic. My grandmother died a couple of years ago due to complications with that.

if you are looking to get fit and tone up try some body weight and core work. by body weight i mean push ups, pull ups, squats and lunges. given that you are female id not emphasize on push ups and pull ups just do a few so u has definition. squats and lunges to build up your lover body are essential. also consider doing side leg raises calf raises and wall sits for sexy legs.

core work to help with tummy, think planks, push ups also help with core work as well but dont over do these because female. also im doing stomach vacuums to tone up my mid section and have lost 2 inches in a month and change. they suck more than planks though. but they keep the midsection in line.

Cravings weren't so bad today, I thought about buying alcohol once once, but quickly chased that thought away. I also chewed less nicotine gums than the previous 2 days.
Just came back from a KILLER back/biceps day, I had so much energy... it's crazy how cigarettes and alcohol take away the life in you.

I started at 240 and went down to 220 in about a month. But those last few lbs before 220 were at a slower rate. After that I started doing IF and have dropped another 10lbs in just under 2 weeks. So it seems to be working pretty well.

i'd highly suggest either getting your own set (power rack, bar, plates, and a bench) or going to a gym. you can do HIIT circuits and basic things like that, but you'll quickly outgrow 20lbs. if you can put them in a backpack, use that for weighted push ups. put them in a bucket and do 1h ohp. lateral raises, planks, and goblet/pistol squats can also work for you.
3-4x a week, do bodyweight squats, push ups, chin ups, planks, and some shoulder work. again, hop on a real program like candy toes' upper/lower or SS or something, but all that requires bars, weights, and a rack to use

Thanks. I initially wasn't too interested in lifting but after reading into it more I see it's kind of essential as I don't want to get to my goal weight and still have a mediocre body. I think I'll start with some calisthenics along with doing what I can with the 20lb weights. I actually do have a 40lb dumb bell as well. Beyond that perhaps I'll look into a gym soon.

Not all veggies are created equal. Leaf greens have such an insignificant amount of carbs that you'd have to be eatting a fucking tree a day to actually fuck up a low carb diet. Eat root veggie on the other hand is going to have a decent amount of carbs that you have to watch it.

I can't go out and jog, so I have a treadmill. I don't do a lot of jogging, but I do try and walk/kindaalmostjog regularly on it.
I can't do any kind of squat with the bar, I'm not totally sure why, but when I try it causes me incredible pain. I can do body-weight ones fine, it's something about holding the bar that causes the pain. Not sure if it's because of my over-curved spine, my broken collar bone, my broken wrist (happened as a kid and the docs never set it correctly) or something else.

Shut in for 5 or so years now.
agoraphobic, depression, anxiety, illness keeping me at home usually in bed.
bought gym equipment a few years ago because I couldn't ever go to a gym but never really got into using it much
but now trying again thing is I still find it really hard to go out so I still spend the majority of time at home in bed but I try to use my equipment every couple of days and of course diet too.

To extrapolate:
there are 96 days before the end of august
to be skinny you'd need to be in the lower end of healthy BMI - 150 lbs
you'd need to lose 1.5 pounds of fat a day
this translates to a 5250 calorie deficit a day (following the 3500kcal/lb approximation)
your STARTING tdee is 2900
Assuming you eat NOTHING for 96 days, you'll still need to create a 2350 kcal deficit with exercise, which various tables put at 2 hours of continuous high intensity cardio like sprint running, rope jumping or swimming butterfly style.
Remember, you're not eating anything. Also as your weight decreases so does your TDEE so you'd have to up the exercise gradually.

So while theoretically doable, this would require tremendous willpower and dedication, something you clearly lack even in regular quantities since you allowed yourself to get this fat in the first place. In short, no.

Tons of sandwiches throughout the day, for dinner frozen pizza every other day and fast food delivered every other day. On top of that tons of sweets often absurd amounts of ice cream. For like a year i would go on cycle of eating so much that my stomach would hurt and then i would eat barely anything at all for the next 2 days and repeat that process.
