This is gonna be somewhat long. My 31st birthday was a week ago. I have been skinny with alcol gut with bad posture all my life.

Last month I finally completed my home gym. Spent 1600 euros for a custom made rack, flooring, bench, Ohio Bar and plates. Started GZCLP.
I'm a short Italian manlet at 168 cm. Went from 62 kg to 66 kg in a month. Obviously still extremely weak lifts and I put on a bulk belly.
Went out with my GF and friends. When I lay on the couch they tease me telling me I'm getting too fat.
Night goes on, we go to our local dive bar. Take off my bomber jacket, just a long sleeve t shirt underneath, not even that slim fit. Male friends I haven't seen in a long time openly complement my shoulders.

Its pretty wild.
I was in this depressive spiral, not going to classes, failing classes, not working out, losing connection with family and friends. But I made 2 really good friends and drinking buddies, who got me a job and got me to open up and be honest with myself and others that I was in a shitty place making shitty decisions. This culminated in me taking responsibility for myself and telling my family I wouldn't accept any more of their money for college, so I picked up a second job, took out some loans, and resolved to graduate.
It was difficult as fuck, working 2 jobs, taking classes, doing freelance work. The gym fell by the wayside. Because I was working so hard and making so much progress, my confidence shot up and I made tons of social gains.
I was still depressed but I was on track to graduate, I had amazing friends, and I was even getting laid occasionally.
After graduation I got my first big boy job and for 6 months I just worked, cooked, worked out, and slept. And in this time I became okay with being alone, and came to enjoy being by myself, finally weaning off my dependence on others.
I also lost 30lbs, and noticed my outlook had dramatically shifted in the last year
All my hard work and progress gave me self worth and confidence, and as a result I wasn't pining over my ex or desperately looking for external validation.
All I needed was my to do list.
Now I'm getting a better job and suddenly tons of female attention. It's fun but I'm not invested. Better things are on the horizon.

If you aren't going to take vitamin S, here's the reality. If you can make steady gains on heavy compound lifting while cutting then you can effectively body recomp, which is what you're describing. If you can only maintain while cutting then that isn't a body recomp, that would be a cut. I probably wouldn't bulk if I were you and I'd do a moderate cut and try to make gains on heavy compound.
