I've been doing Squats recently and they're really uncomfortable because my left knee lets out an audible crack every time I come down. It doesn't hurt at all but it does feel uncomfortable and obviously doesn't sound good.

I assume its down to sitting on my ass playing video games and never leaving the house for years. After losing around 40lbs I jog 2 miles 3 times a week and do sit ups and push ups multiple times a day and have no issue with either of those, I don't go to a gym because of anxiety so I try to do what I can at home.

You should count everything. It helps prevent me from having lil bits here and there because I dont want to have to log 3 almonds or whatever, so I just dont eat it.
I count the milk in my coffee, the 2 strawberries I add to my protein shake.

In other news I realised that I've been underestimating the amount of cheese I use. 220 cal for my serving instead of 110 cal. This 100 cal difference has been going on for months. I could have lose a pound a month extra had I just used less cheese.

dairy in general is the devil, i've really been neglecting measuring for a little while but i need to get back on it, because small swigs of milk here and there have got to add up enormously, I think a good 30% of my body fat probably came from just milk consumption alone considering it was my main source of hydration until recently.

I had originally measured out a 1oz serving on a sandwich, then eyeballed it after. The portion of cheese got bigger and bigger, sometimes almost a cupful which is 400cal, most days it was 1/2 cup tho. If I hadn't of done that I'd be at my goal already. I've decided to just give up cheese totally now in favor of an egg and ham sammich that can be more accurately measured.

if i lift at maintenance whilst doing cardio, will I burn fat whilst building muscle or am i spinning my wheels?

Not really /fat/ related but as a former fatty I think I am welcome here ? How the fuck do I get into running ? I can Bench 2pl8 for 10reps or DL 4.5pl8 but I cant run 3km without feeling like I'm gonna die, I am not even fat anymore why does this happen ? It's mostly my calves that feel like they are gonna cramp up if I go any further. also my pace is fucking horrible and it would probably take me over 30min to run a 5k.

When it comes to running I think its my shoes, probably technique as well. I only do light jogging for 10-15 minutes and end up with splitting pain in my right foot. When it comes to lifting I'm probably too stiff(due to the stress of being around so many people).

I think swimming is probably the sport where you can hurt yourself the hardest ? atleast I dont see how that would even be possibly apart from not warming up and going as fast as you can instantly but if you swim at a moderate pace I cant imagine yourself getting hurt.

also if you are uncomfortable at the gym just start out using the machines until you get a feel for the place. I know /fit/ usually hates on machines but for a beginner that is uncomfortable they can be great to get into the flow and feel more at home.

Sounds exactly like me. I felt I had stalled for a month and couldn't figure out why. Looked online and tried throwing out cheese. Worked perfectly for two months as was able to lose the last stubborn bits. From that adventure learned:

Measure cheese. Always
Don't buy pre shredded. Has more junk added in it compared to a block.
Ease up on sauce. Although not big problem in my case as I just use a 0 cal/carb free bbq & and a little vinger sauce for salad.

Not sure if this is the place to ask but I have been curious about cannabis and weight loss. I have been losing a pretty steady amount of weight over the last few months but the last month or so I have hit a wall and been actually gaining small amounts of weight. I am weighing everything, and correctly logging it. (I eat about 1800 give or take 50 calories a day, 310 lbs 6'1). The only change ive made is smoking a small amount of cannabis. Despite what other people say, I find it helps with hunger cravings. They are more intense but hurt alot less.

I have heard rumors that I am simply holding onto water weight now from smoking and that if I am actually logging correctly ill still lose the "fat" even if my weight is staying the same. But I am scared that perhaps that is horseshit and the weed has some chemical in it that stops me from losing weight. Does anyone have experience in this matter?

Tfw raised on McDonald's since I was a child because raised by single working mom and it has become a comfort food and I get anxiety when I don't have it once a day. Disrupting this routine makes me very uncomfortable and anxious.

I'm also a latchkey kid with a single mom and dinner every night was pretty much KFC or dominos at 9pm, so I'd be hungry all day and then starving by the time she came home, so I'd overeat.

If you're craving something specific I can help you find an alternative that will still let you eat what you want (sorta. within reason cause it does depend on what you're craving).

For example, here's me
>Be craving chocolate
>Made an avocado chocolate mousse with avocado, cocoa powder, cassava syrup (tapioca syrup. It's hella sweet so you don't need even half a serving compared to the tablespoon of sugar you'd need normally for a single serving) and salt
>Satisfied, got the mouth feel of what i was craving (A truffle or mousse), and didn't set me back in calories or sugar.

I can't give exact measurements if anyone's wondering because it's really "to taste." Just make sure the avocado isn't too far gone or it'll taste like shit and just mix in small ratios until it tastes right.

You can use agave or honey instead since i've only seen cassava syrup at whole foods/local hipster grocers

The number one best thing you can do as a recovering fatty is learn to find alternatives to your cravings that will actually satisfy the craving.

An alternative tip you can do is put the thing you're craving into your calorie tracker before you even eat it. Sometimes seeing my calories and sugar spike over is enough to change my mind.

The one time i had a cheat day it turned into a cheat week (it was my birthday that started it).

I gave into cravings today. I got a slice of pizza & some beer from Artichoke Basille's today, right next to my apartment.

It "fit" into my caloric intake for the day, and I went to the gym beforehand, but it was SO unsatisfying and wrecked my stomach later.

This seems to be pretty typical for me now, after eating "clean" for about a month and a half. Does this happen to others? stuff that you didn't think twice about eating now fucks with your whole system and is generally unsatisfying?

One month's difference. It's not huge but i can see it.

The shirt i'm wearing on the right (the new pic) didn't fit me when i bought it two months ago. It was skintight on me. Now it fits like a normal shirt.

I have a mix of scoliosis and hyper lordosis. I'm working with a trainer to strengthen my back as well as overall weight loss. Like I said it won't change overnight this is a month's progress. I've talked with a few different doctors and all of them say the same thing: Lose weight and a lot of the posture will start to fix itsself.

Right now my back muscles, i know for a fact, are underdeveloped to hold me up straight even when I adjust my posture, which I did do before I snapped both of these.

As for adding height, i used to measure at 5'3, now i measure at 5'0 so you don't have to tell me dude.

This is a weight loss thread not a make-fun-of-posture thread come on :(

Idk, lots of people have fasted on water only for weeks at a time. Of course, I can never know for sure if those people are telling the full truth. Though I've never heard of anyone doing this, maybe I can do a juice-based nutrient refeed once a week.
