Either average it out or only weigh yourself once a week. The scale WILL fluctuate wildly. Always. It will change depending on if you've eaten or not, it'll change based on if you have to poop or not, etc. Your weight changes. Make sure you do it at the same time every day though, either first thing in the mornng or before bed

Nah, if you really push yourself you can lose 1.5kg of fat per week, and if you're super mega huge you can even lose 2kg. Takes a lot of exercise though so you don't atrophy and a lot of willpower not to give in to hunger, most people fail at higher calorie deficits (especially on their first real diet) which is why /fit/ advises for 500.

Serious advice here, start out at 1500 and see if you can hold that, without cheating, for a month. Then if you do you can lower yourself to 1200. But to start out at 1200 is asking for trouble, it might just lead to giving in completely when you (inevitably, as we all do) fuck up once.

Oh nice, that sounds way better, I assumed you didn't have experience and were just starting out. You'll probably make it then. Still yeah, starting at 1500 for a month is far safer and will be better in the long term, and when you add it up it's only 2100cals a week extra, which is only a quarter of a kilogram anyway and will make the 1200 way easier once your stomach has shrunk a little more.

Read a couple threads of /fat/ in the archive and you'll get a good idea. If you're just starting out, reduce by as much as you can healthily sustain, working out burns calories and gives motivation so is a great idea. Routine isn't even really important at this stage. Just remember not to count exercise in your daily calorie limit. Start at 3000, see if you can hold it for a while, and if it's easy go to 2500.

You can make a good baked omlette in the oven. Use a muffin tin. Line the bottom with spinach, i add some peppers, then pour in the egg on top. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes give or take (Can make this in a larger pan too but the cook time goes up obviously).

You can eat eggs in other ways than hardboiled, just don't be retarded and cook them in a pan full of oil and extra calories.

Your TDEE needs to observed directly by counting calories and weighing yourself. Estimates from calculators only provide a starting point from where you can begin guessing. The variance in energy expenditure between individuals is very large. The number given to you from a formula based on population averages will be your actual personal TDEE only by rare coincidence.

So, take a guess at what calories you need to lose weight. Measure weight after waking up and taking a piss and compare averages between weeks. After getting two weeks of measurements you'll have enough data to notice a 500g or bigger difference in weight. You should ignore the first couple days you start eating less as you'll quickly lose a few pounds of shit and water weight which doesn't count in determining how big of a deficit you're in.

The thing with all low calorie foods is that they're not cheap. To minimize spending on food you buy high calorie foods. Oats are amazing for this reason because they are high calorie, high protein and high fiber and still absolutely dirt cheap.

It's called gaining muscle, which is way more dense than fat. That happens when you exercise while losing weight, even if you're a grrl. This is why you shouldn't look at the scale as an absolute judgment of progress because there's a lot more to the process than total weight.

Look into getting some calipers to track body composition. It'll help enlighten you to if you're actually losing fat.

This is pointless. You're getting yourself worked up over a measurement that's about as inaccurate as it can be. Weight varies from day and day and hour to hour. If you drink half a liter of water, obviously you weigh 0.5kg more immediately after. You constantly lose water at a varying rate (exercise obviously increasing it). A graph of your weight during a single day looks like a line that's gradually going down with intermittent spikes going up or down that correspond to eating, drinking, pissing and shitting. How you eat and drink and when you go use the toilet (and how much you shit!) increases the variance of measuring your weight during the day. The amount you sweat will also vary between workouts. The best and only time you should be measuring your weight is in the morning after taking a piss. It's after taking a piss because that empties your bladder making sure that this variable is the same in each measurement.

Nope. I ate and drank ~12,000 calories over a weekend and it didn't completely destroy my diet.

TDEE is ~2500 calories. 7000 extra calories that weekend, so maybe 1-2 lbs if I didn't workout. You should start looking at weekly TDEE instead of daily.

My weekly TDEE is somewhere around ~18,000 calories, not including exercise. It wouldn't be the healthiest, but you can technically binge on a weekend and still hit your maintenance level for that week. 12k is pretty extreme, really fucked up, but I ate at ~1200-1500 calories for the next 5 days, making me hit around 18,000-19,000 calories for the week. Still lost weight due to working out 5x a week.

Now, that isn't an excuse to eat like shit every weekend. Ideally you should never go above maintenance. But you shouldn't beat yourself up for enjoying life either. I like to drink and eat shitty food with friends at restaurants. I've still lost 80lbs and still losing another 30lbs, despite enjoying social situations. If you can do cold turkey by all means go ahead. It isn't for everyone, and personally I find it completely healthy to eat at a restaurant and get a fat juicy burger every now and then. Just make sure it's with a big glass of water and not soda or sugary tea, yeah?

The initial hunger problems suck but they go away after a week or two. It lets you eat huge meals without breaking your caloric budget, which is pretty great in my opinion. Eating something super filling for your second meal (read: lots of good fat and protein) helps control hunger.

It also gives you a great avenue to try shit like Yohimbine or just fasted workouts in general, which are great if you can handle it.

Getting there though and loving about a million odd different aspects of losing weight besides the obvious appearance thing. I do IF, eat from 12-8pm. When ever I eat breakfast, I am startving by like 11am. When I am fasting, I can easily go till 1 without thinking about food. I plan to stick to IF after I am done my cut because I love it so much.

It's not for everyone :) I just feel sick if I don't eat something. I know the "blood sugar" thing is a meme but I do get a huge wave of nausea if I go too long without eating something (years of soda abuse could've made me diabetic but i'm too scared to go to the doctor. healthy diet and low carbs help diabetus though so i'm not worried going forward)

Planning out my meals helps me curb cravings because I know what food i have to look forward to ahead of time so i just get excited to eat my yummy food instead of craving junk.

Thank you guys. I have a bit of a skewed view of myself at times because it only takes me eating something for me to physically see myself as bigger or flabbier. I can feel the difference in myself if I grab my legs and arms - the fat loss in those areas is really obvious even though it has only been just under two months. I'm fitter, I've lost inches and in general, it feels like this new lifestyle is beneficial to me. It's just so frustrating that I can't see it on the scale, especially when I visit fit all the time and see other people losing 4lbs in a week. I'm doing everything right, as hard as I physically can. I spend every lunch break at work working my ass off, then every night doing push ups, lifts and squats. I don't think I can physically do anymore and I feel like I'm still failing.

Anyway, sorry for the blog. I'll take your advice and stop using the scales for the time being. It's just making me more miserable and I don't want it to result in me losing hope. We're all gonna make it, etc.
