Vascularity is equal parts genes and low bodyfat, with only a little to do with lmm. As you can see in this comparison, even when I was a complete dyel at 125 lbs 3 years ago I still had crazy vascularity. I'm lucky (or cursed depending who you ask) in that my veins are pretty predominant all the way up to 15% or so. That's honestly how I know when it's time to cut, regardless of the # on the scale. Soon as the abdominal veins start fading = wrap it up.

ah ya, I misread your original post. you're def out of it now. Thought you had only recently started lifting.
I started at like 115lbs (I was shorter too to be fair) and gained weight steadily to about 140. (pic related). I know its not that impressive but at the time I thought I was jacked, definitely got a lot more attention at school and really helped my self confidence. Was really around that time I got "bitten by the bug" so to speak. It's why I'm kind of against noobies bulking in general, I think being able to see yourself with non-auschwitz mode abs and in decent shape can do wonders for longevity in lifting.

My story is pretty similar actually. I agree though when you first start lifting you can get pretty big gains without going overload on calories. I went from 135 to 150 without gaining much fat. Pretty much stalled at 150 for a long time until i finally started bulking properly. Just so you know bro, the average person would consider that jacked.

Don't worry lad, I actually just worked the shit out of my arms. I used to do calisthenics 3x a week and really long distance running, and I fell for the "pullups/chinups are enough for arms" meme. Now I can do 21 deadhang pullups in a row and I have the arms of a 14 year old.

If you're trying to monitor your progress via pictures consistency is the most important thing of all. Same environment, same time of day, same lighting, choose either with pump or without, make it part of your routine. It's no secret that a physique can look night and day different when you start changing all of those variables, progress may look exaggerated or underwhelming if you're comparing apples to oranges.

It's about lmm:bf ratio, not simply maximizing or minimizing one or the other. The reason I "look" bigger isn't due to my height, it's due to the illusion of size a high lmm:bf ratio provides. Seriously, if this is your first time experiencing the "illusion of size" that being lean creates you haven't been around /fit/ very long.

Opinions?

6month on push/pull/legs. 3-5 times / week. I have been living under calories for whole of my life and I have been struggling to get diet on correct but I'm stuck on 2,4k calories/day but this is better than my earlier under 2k/day. Also I havent yet added deadlift/squash on workout routine so I think my core is behind.

Been on somewhat of an bulk the whole time. I guess ive gained some muscle on legs but upper body still dyel and midsection just got fat.

fix your ohp form. doing a shoulder is not worth it.

define stalling.

you could take a short break. like a fortnight.
you could drop the weights back a notch and add more reps, then work on progressing reps and weight.
so n weight for y reps
then n weight for y+2
then n for y+5
then n+1 for y
n+1 for y+2

there are many ways to programme.

shift your calories a touch lower towards a protein enhanced maintenance. add some accessories, do them for hypertrophy. even just lunges (overhead to aide shoulder gains and keep your torso upright) and a pull-up/pull-down.

your lifts are nowhere near pulling the plug on a basic strength programme territory. @3 months take a full week off. then reprogramme exactly the same just double the reps and adjust weight accordingly, do this programme for a fortnight or even a whole month. eat @ or near maintenance, with slightly elevated proteins (for growth) and fats (for satiation) to carb (it is just a fuel source beyond a basic small amount) ratios.
then take a week off and get back on original strength programme, fixing weight values as appropriate.

Follow a lifting program, don't make up your own if you have none/little knowledge about lifting.
Don't do random shit at the gym because you'll end up spending your time ineffectively and not getting the desired results.

i've never lifted or gone to the gym before however i've always just been kinda muscly. My stepdad was a semi-alcoholic crazy fucker who made me carry and split firewood and things of that sort since i was eight. Not him, but it can be really fucking difficult for a lanlet with no one to teach him correct form etc. A lanky guy is likely to spend his first 6 months making no progress due to naturally low appetite, then spend the next year de-loading everything over and over because you're getting your form wrong again and again and again.
