>I think it's the patellar tendon

If it's quad tendinitis, you need to give it some rest. If the inflammation is recent, use some ice to calm it down (and maybe ibuprofen if the pain is too big and limiting), and let it rest. Keep it immobile.

If the early stage of the inflammation has passed, you can use heat to help with relaxing and recoverying, eccentric-only squats, fish/krill oil, stretching, and resting. :)

>why would I only get it in one knee

Because your knees are not directly connected together.
>>
>>40251529
But it ONLY hurts when I'm squatting. Feels 100% fine the rest of the time so is it still worth taking anti inflammatory measures?

muscles like calves and arms, usually smaller muscles that are not in the core, recover pretty quickly.

your lats recover quickly sometimes too, depending on the stress, so your erectors.

think of it like this
>how often do you use your chest?
>compared to calves and muscles that keep your posture up?
>muscles like calves and postural muscles have higher slow twitch ratios of muscle fibers because they cant just fatigue and give up
>ergo they recover better, but might be worse at force production comparatively

I pointed out the conflict in your argument here: >>40251924

I understand that experience can be a good thing to look for when seeking advice, but just because you squat (as used in your example), doesn't mean you have all the knowledge at hand, and just because you don't squat doesn't mean you don't have a very technical and useful understanding of he movement.

Don't base your counter argument on "how can you know, you've never done it" because it holds very little merit. I'm not even entirely certain what you two are even debating, as it's transformed into some pretty childish bickering.

>>
>>40251999

So my rule of thumb is that if your hips shoot up, you're setting your hips up too low to begin with and that will pull you out of position. Stay with the current weight, and next time get a buddy to film you, or prop your camera up on a box, while lifting so we can take a look and diagnose the problem better.

2. inductive is not deductive
3. if your argument is not deductive, you are wrong

Ill just link teaching efficacy studies

but its not accurate, because when a teacher teaches math, english... THEY HAVE DONE IT BEFORE

you fail to realize you can stand on the shoulders of giants but you cant claim yourself to be a giant on top of their shoulders?

you realize PT stands for physical therapist? this is an appeal to authority... but that is also inductive reasoning.

First thing to mention is, PFPS is still kind of a mystery when it comes to its causes (we have a few good hypothesis but nothing entirely conclusive so far).
Which means, the treatment for it is in general conservative (lots of resting).

The first thing is, PFPS may have been caused by overuse. In this case, you need some rest first. Same things apply from the inflammation recommendations: heat, immobilization, rest for a week or so, fish/krill oil.

One of the most important parts to getting rid of PFPS is strengthening the quad muscles. And we have to do so in a way that does not trigger you pain.
Here's what I suggest:
- Bulgarian Split Squats (3/4 of the focus)
- Highbar squats ECCENTRIC-only (1/4 of the focus)
You can use tape or braces to help stabilize your knee

Another part is avoiding things that make the symptoms worse.
For example, avoid:
- Sitting with bent knees for a long time
- Highbar/lowbar/front squatting

>>40252038

>you just said you didnt disagree with me

I didn't say that. Again, stop creating strawmen.
I said I don't agree nor disagree until you substantiate your claims.

>you then say you will disagree with me once it is substantiated

I will provide my arguments and claims
Whether I will agree or not with you is yet to be seen, once you substantiate your claims

You are going to substantiate your claims, right?
Or are you just wasting everyone's time?

I'm starting to think it's the second option

If your next post does not either:
- substantiate your claims
- give up on the debate since you can't substantiate your claims
I'm filtering you and not responding to any more of your baits

But thats not an excuse for such a terrible deadlift.

I actually just never actually deadlifted. I spent ages trying to find out why my conventional hurts my back and how i can fix it, stretch, what the fuck ever.

The time I have been actually deadlifting is maybe 2-3 months.

Meanwhile i took my squats to 4pl8, and then realized that my knees are fucked despite proper form.

Ok, now THIS I obviously agree with. But (in response to >>40252104) you clearly state that your distilled argument is that "If you have never squatted before and use the objectively best information to teach a squat, someone who has squatted more than you will still have an advantage." In that statement, the implications I drew, as you didn't specify the amount of technical knowledge the second (more experienced) example had, was that experience>knowledge, which is simply not true. I however agree that Experience+Knowledge >Knowledge, and I acknowledge that Knowledge and Experience tend to grow together. This all being said, it is silly to discredit anything presented, simply because the presenter lacks experience, ESPECIALLY as you have claimed that Trappy pulls their advice from "giants".

Just in the future, consider attacking Trappy's source, instead of their person. Ya dig? When we debate ideas, and not personalities we garner a respectful discussion which can lead to an increase in knowledge and better /plg/ health.

Agreed. The problem arises when the person who has only read about something attacks everything that doesn't fit into his viewpoint and *knows* he's right.

And that's the underlying point here in this argument.

If I wasn't positive about something, or lacked the required first world experience, I would throw my two cents in but I would be prepared to discuss it until my 2 cents wasn't worth as much as it was before. I wouldn't ram in there like I had a gun in a gaybar. I would be prepared to be wrong or maybe even right while listening to others. I wouldn't assume I'm right and anything else I (mis)read was incorrect and there's no way around it.

People don't hate trappy because he's a tranny. People hate him because he's an egotistical prick who passes off anything he reads as the gospel. He's no different than Apple shills who think iphones are the best thing ever because they read a blog or two.

And that's what you have to understand. They attack trappy for being a tranny because he's annoying as shit, not just because he's a tranny. You can't control how people feel about him because it comes from their own interactions.

Kind of went off on a rant there, but essentially, as long as trappy keeps up his holier than though attitude, this will keep happening.

>Even if all of the premises are true in a statement, inductive reasoning allows for the conclusion to be false. Hereā€™s an example: "Harold is a grandfather. Harold is bald. Therefore, all grandfathers are bald." The conclusion does not follow logically from the statements.

With that said, let's go over your argument:

>1. Someone who does X once will have am advantage of experience over someone who has never done it
>2. someone who does X very well and has experience will do something better than someone who has only done X once
>3. + someone who has more experience will have an advantage over someone who has no experience

This is assuming the only way of learning X is by directly experiencing X.
For instance, following your logic, the only way of learning about lung cancer is by having lung cancer.
As you can see, the logic doesn't stand up to scrutiny.

Sure, but I was just quoting the article to make it easier to re-check if necesssary.

You missed the point of my actual argument.

>This is assuming the only way of learning X is by directly experiencing X.
>For instance, following your logic, the only way of learning about lung cancer is by having lung cancer.
>As you can see, the logic doesn't stand up to scrutiny.

Do you have anything else to add?

>>40252360

>never, ever, ever said that.
>"Someone who has experience had an advantage over someone with no experience"

Then you argument is poorly constructed.

Here's your logic:

>1. Someone who does lateral raises once will have am advantage of experience over someone who has never done it
>2. someone who does lateral raises "very well" (dubious term) and has experience will do something "better" (dubious term) than someone who has only done lateral raises once
>3. + someone who has more experience will have an advantage over someone who has no experience

1: Is true.
2: Is false. If I have a coach with me telling me how to do a squat, I can perform a squat with better technique than someone who has done squats for a week before me but has never had help from a coach or learned about technique in any way. In fact, the person who has been squatting for a week might have a bunch of issues with technique, including actual pain.
3: Is true.

Number 2 is where you assumed the only way of learning about something is to experience it.
As you can see, it's a bad assumption that can easily be disproven.

The argument is that if you're hitting your traps way too hard doing lat raises, that you are doing something wrong with your form. You still haven't even tried to answer this as if the possibility existed.

And you're just copy and pasting your own answer. Maybe even wiki's for that matter.

So you think the main reason people do lat raises, is not for medial deltoids, but for traps, serratus, pec major, etc?

Are you literally that full of yourself that you can't admit that people do lat raises to hit their medial delts first and foremost? That they target their medial delts when they do lat raises?

Hell the whole reason this started was because the guy wasn't hitting his delts enough. You think he was targetting every muscle the lat raises hits instead?

>I never argued this.

It's literally what you wrote word for word, I only changed X to lateral raises and put " " and a note on dubious terms, which is besides the point.

>2. someone who does X very well and has experience will do something better than someone who has only done X once
>2. someone who does lateral raises very well and has experience will do lateral raises better than someone who has only done lateral raises once

It's literally the central piece of your argument.
But since I have disproven it, you're now trying to argue that your whole argument is just "having more experience is an advantage".

Which sure, is true.
But MEANINGLESS. It has no bearing on anything you have argued so far. It defends no points you've made so far. It's just a meaningless observation that provides no point.

But as I said, the third point is true.
Now if you want, you can construct an argument based on the third point. And we continue from there.
I will be waiting, but I'm sure it's pointless to, since you won't be able to construct anything meaningful from that.
I will be waiting, though.

Expertise.
You can have expertise without ever doing something or doing something to a professional level.

the reason you "help" people on the internet is because nobody in real life would ever take lifting advice, let alone powerlifting advice from you.

There are many times when what you learned in uni or what is conventionally taught does not work.

this is why there is more than weight lifting routine, squat form... the very growth of scientific discovery not even related to lifting, is in actively trying to seek out to prove yourself wrong.

Ok, you want me to quote here that Sheiko was never a powerlifter?
Sure.

http://www.strongerbyscience.com/interview-with-coach-boris-sheiko/

>I was born in Moscow. My family moved to Dnepropetrovsk (Ukraine), the native city of my father. After school I entered to the Institute of Physical Culture in Kiev at the Department of Weightlifting. Many of the best coaches in Ukraine studied at this institute. Immediately after graduation I moved to do military service in Kazakhstan for one year.

>From 1975 to 1996 I lived and worked in Kazakhstan. In the period from 1975 to 1989 I was a coach in weightlifting. From 1981 to 1989 I was a senior coach of the junior weightlifting team of Kazakhstan. From 1984 to 1986 I worked with the junior weightlifting team of the USSR.

>In 1989, my student Alexey Sivokon (two-time weightlifting bronze medalist of the USSR among youths under 18 years old) took part in his first powerlifting competition, which also happened to be Kazakhstanā€™s first Powerlifting Cup. In 1990 we switched to powerlifting due in part to his outstanding performance. In 1991 I became the head coach of Kazakhstanā€™s powerlifting teams.

I think I'm finally done. You have nothing left in your arguments, and don't seem to have anything else to add.

I wasn't here when he "left", and when I came back, he even had a nice chat with me :)
pic related

>bryce

He's still around, just never posted frequently.

>norsefat

Still around and posting almost every day. Just busy with his job and life.

>lonelypl

I wasn't here when he left, and I know why he left (protip: sean).

>topkek100

He still shows up from time to time, but even in early 2016 he wasn't around much anymore. Always just stayed in the cytube chat. Probably still there.

>the list goes on

Yeah, of course. Marcel, for example, big loss to /plg/, still missed to this day.

None of those left because of me though.

>>40252966

Alex doesn't.
Boardie does rarely, he tells me all the time he hates /plg/ now.
Esmeralda, barely ever.
Sean? Have you seen sean around? lmao

If people are this mad about lateral raises, just imagine if I had talked about the bench thing that I've been promising to talk about, and is actually a big deal and goes against a big part of the common knowledge around the internet.

I guess some things are better kept from being exposed to the public. Eventually it will trickle down, I guess.

>>40253020

Weird that he would choose to stay in a private chat with me and literally a couple of people every day.

I was gonna actually post a screenshot of our chat, but it's a bit too... intimate... not sure he would appreciate me posting it around ;)

Do you not realize that people may not come here because of you - not because they don't like you but because of the shit storm you cause?

Are you seriously going to deny that you cause a huge shit storm?

I don't give a shit about this drama and I don't give a shit about what gender you think you are.
But they do have a point as in your persona is incredibly outrageous and provocative - and you aren't trying to make it less so at all.

But they had a falling out, and sean stopped going to watch2gether.

Haven't you noticed how you don't see the old "lonelypl get on watch2gether NOW" posts anymore since... forever?

>>40253085

>you cause

Why am I to blame for what other people do?
If Alex is avoiding /plg/ but still in intimate contact with me, do you really think he's avoiding /plg/ because of me? Or is it because of the, you know, other posters in /plg/?

>Are you seriously going to deny that you cause a huge shit storm?

My mere existence is enough fuel to trigger people into shitposting.
In fact, I don't even need to be here for the shitstorm to exist. The months I have left are there to prove it.

>>40253104

If you're not lying and are actually interested in learning/discussing this with me and the other guys, post a vid of your bench and we can chat about it in private. :)
Getting the opinion and input from strong lifters and other coaches is always good, and this is still a messy puzzle.

>"If you haven't squatted (weight) and someone wants to squat (weight), how would you be able to teach him without doing it yourself?"

Sheiko never benched 335kg... and yet Kirill seems to listen to him?

>>40253135

>blatantly fucking wrong

Here's your problem. People just refused to go after and read the things I cited as source and explanation, even though I insisted that they do so for over 4 posts.

How about trapparoo, you stop posting for the reminder of February and see what happens to plg?

If it gets worse without you then you've proved your point and there's no argument to be bad.

If it gets better then perhaps you can come back after the month and just post without your trip code and see how things are?

Sound fair?

See, look at this shit. It'd be different if it only posted facts but it doesn't.

It can't look at itself and what it does. It can't self reflect, and instead just deflects everything off it and assumes everyone else is wrong no matter what happens.

It takes zero blame, doesn't see any problem with how it comes off, and thinks it can say whatever it wants and everyone else is to blame.

>people do lat raises for trap and serratus work
>>
>>40253157
I really am astounded by how you managed to miss the point so much.

I literally said that you should consider the fact that people don't leave her because they don't like you but because of the shitstorm that you cause.

And here you are asking me how that could be possible when tripxy still has personal contact to you?
That is the question you are asking me in order to refute my argument??

I don't get how some people argue. It's outright stupid.

>the shitstorm that you cause

I'm quoting again. You're assuming something that is just not truth.
I'm not the one causing shitstorms. In fact, I never lose my cool (and people get mad because of that cause apparently that means I'm on a high horse for not losing my shit when discussing stuff).

You're blaming the wrong person here.

>And here you are asking me how that could be possible when tripxy still has personal contact to you?

Let's use logic.
Person X leaves place Y, and instead now goes to a private intimate place with person Z and, let's say, three other people almost every day.
Is person X avoiding person Z?
Does person X dislikes person Z?
Or is person X avoiding people W that are in place Y?

>>40253241

>plg is for anons too

Sure, but because of the nature of anonymous, it's not doable to count anonymous votes as it can easily be manipulated.

>Why can't you just test whether you're a problem or not by leaving for 20 something days?

I have left for 5 months. The threads are in the archive, if you wanna see the shitstorm.
Heck, Bodorio and Buda left /plg/ during that period.

Are you fucking kidding me? You still did not get it??? What the actual fuck.

Hey, everyone that is reading the discussion: am i mentally retarded and missworded my arguments so badly that it's literally impossible to understand what I am talking about or is the person I am talking with incredibly slow?

I have formulated it TWICE now, clearly stating that it's not about person X not liking YOU but not liking the version of this place that your presence makes it become.

And you tried using the fact that person X talks to you in private AGAIN in order to refute the argument?
Haha; what the fuck is going on? Do you really not understand??

It doesn't matter who is starting the shit storm - your presence triggers it. And in that you have a part of the drama, if you like it or not.

Are you really going to tell me that you do not do ANYTHING to add to the cause of this shitstorm?

You trip as trappy-chan
You have posted your face on here
You have posted your dick on here
You allowed yourself to get doxxed
You add gay ass transsexual themes anime to all of your posts

And given all these facts you are still trying to tell me that you are not provocative?
