I go to a commercial gym. In 6years i met only 2 powerlifters and both were outliers and visitors. One guy was close to 300pounds squatting 550 for reps while the other guy was maybe 140 pounds repping 315.

Theres 2 roiders that can bench 4 plate for sets of 5 but im inching to them these last few months and bench 385 for 1. I guess by august 2017 ill be repping 4plate bench.

Theres 3 guys who after 2-3 years finally got to 225 bench and theyre deadlifting around 4 plate. So they basically are approaching 1/2/3/4.

All the rest of the hundreds of members can barely squat 1 plate and bench 50 pound db's cause >muh rotator cuffs

My commercial gym has 1 other guy that does serious strength training, though doesn't compete in powerlifting. He lifts about 160-130-200 at 95-100kg bw. Apart from him there's one natty bodybuilder with isley-tier proportions that deadlifts around 200kg as well while not really training for it much, but his other lifts are pretty shit. There's also a guy that was doing pretty general training, he came from a martial arts background, but I've been slowly converting him to pure strength training over the past year or so.
Those three guys and myself are the only people lifting heavy(-ish). There's 2-3 more guys that train seriously but they're only focused on bodybuilding and lift far less than you would guess by their size.

It improves fast, but I do it a lot, couple times a week I just keep adding weight until I can't get the bar up without dropping it.

Until now I did shrugs with about 110 kgs and held it at the end as long as i could for three times. Static-hold-dropsetting the last set. I can hold it longer without shrugs but I thought the movement during the excercise might carry over to the pull in the deadlift. And I like big traps.

Try splitting the movements up.
I use straps for shrugs and add plates until the bar stops moving. Do lots of cheat reps and my traps just respond really well.

As for static holds, like I said, no real reps or sets, just add weight until the bar doesn't go up and hold for as long as possible.

I have another question. My stats are 55/80/115/145 all 3*5 except DL. I think my linear gains are running out,, and I definitely eat enough.
Would it be worthwhile to change to an intermediate program? Which one doesn't have me squat 3 times a week?

I never looked into Madcow until right now. That looks interesting. What's the reasoning for no longer alternating OHP and Bench? If I do that I can just keep my excercise template and just change the rep/set-ranges.

Also I would would skip squats on wednesday and do more accessories for lagging bodyparts afterwards. Plus I'd do the press movement before squats.

Don't go on an intermediate yet. Look up SS advanced novice. You'll be progressing twice a week instead of 3 on SS or 1 on intermediate.

I like to rotate TM and madcow and once I stall, do a few weeks of low volume high intensity work.

By "eat enough" do you mean you are gaining 0.5kg to kg of bodyweight a week?

It's just the way the spine is positioned and structured. Injuries by hyperextension of the thoracic and lumbar spine are ridiculously rare, to the point where the very medical literature says it's barely worth talking about.

Now, that's not to say you can't get an hyperextension injury. You can. If you OHP a lot of weight and with a huge lumbar arch, you can definitely fuck up your back, because the weight is working in favour of more hyperextension.

However, on squats and deadlifts, the weight is actively acting against hyperextension (aka trying to flex your back).
So hyperextending during squats and deadlifts is literally less dangerous than just laying on the floor and hyperextending your back (which is pretty much not dangerous at all) or hyperextending when arching on the bench (which is also not dangerous).

I plan on doing greyskull as long as possible. But I feel it coming to an end and wanted to have a plan ready when that's the case. I probably should squat more but the greyskull squat/deadlift-template is what keeps me motivated.
