Front squats and SSB squats are usually the sort of thing people prescribe to fix the issue alongside rowing movements, but I find a good chunk of the time the issue is as much with positioning and bracing as it is with the upper back weakness.

Useful for overload and feeling out heavier weights than usual. Can also make for a good alternate to regular downsets - instead of dropping the weight, throw on the bands.

Like most accommodating resistance setups, the trick is not to go too crazy. Its easy to get caught up in the idea and end with some retarded amount of weight at the top that has zero effect except beating the shit out of your upper back.

For what it's worth I had this same problem with my conventional deadlift, did a lot of SSB squats for 6 weeks, then pulled 4pl8 conventional with essentially no rounding pretty easily when before I would round pretty badly with 3.5pl8.

I agree that Front/SSB squats are great for fixing this.

I think it's better to do more volume with them. I did a LP 5x5 2x a week and added 5 lbs each time. After doing that along with a lot of deadlift volume for 6 weeks though, my legs were fried and I had to take a week off squatting.

I mean directly over the bar. Supposedly you can not physically lift the bar unless your shoulders are directly over it.

Before my shoulders were too far forward and it negated my strength off the floor and probably caused rounding in some cases.

Today I focused on visualising that cue and I noticed significant improvements in handling intensity and form straight away.

Just had the worst workout in a while. Warmup squats felt heavy, completed first work set kinda okay, then it felt like before the second set I completely forgot how to squat. Got under the bar, got tight, unracked, walked back, started to squat but it didn't feel right and bounced back up again having gone down only a few inches, reracked. Tried again 3 times to no avail. Then tried to OHP and felt pinching in my shoulder (which I injured a while back but I though was okay) and then I completely abandoned my workout.
I've been feeling really tired and sleepy all the time lately, despite getting about 7h of sleep every night. But now after that failed workout I feel like crap and want to drink. But I'm not going to.

No it would've been RPE 8-9 with form breakdown (knees caved in) but I could've done it and now I gotta wait a whole week to reattempt.

I did a double, dumped the bar, then rested a bit and did a triple with the same weight and I am pretty confident I could've done another rep at least. So I am just going to up the weight by 5kg next time and go for two triples.
