With all the volume I've done I now have my own 'routine' for setting up and have done a lot of competition style pause work which is helping to teach me to control the weight instead of bouncing it like bouncy ball off my chest. The added difficulty from pausing also helps drive more progression, I'm assuming.

For now Im doing a high frequency meme thing.

I cant squat due to hip problems so I do some sort of pull or lunge every day instead.

This would be fine but it seems like my hamstrings specifically are getting overtaxed and not fully recovering, as compared to the rest of me. So I need to change my pulling volume somehow.

If Im looking more in the direction of less specificity and more work capacity, I should lower weights used to allow for more total volume, correct?

Or does high frequency throw a wrench into the works on that idea, and I should keep intensity high but reduce the total number of sets?

Does anyone have experience with this sort of training and could share?

I just cant squat to/past parallel with a heavy bar on my back.

Well I can, but my hips start hurting pretty bad after, and there's a strong possibility of labral tears and making the cause worse.

I can still do pretty much everything else and my ROM is only minimally restricted, so I think I made out ok.

I've tried my friends romaleos and it surprised me how solid and sturdy they were and loved them.

Like I said, I do lots of pulls, especially ones where I can get more leg drive (deficits in general, trap-bar, Jeffersons, sumo) and lunges. I don't have a muscle imbalance, hamstrings are just primarily high twitch (70+%) and therefore very vulnerable to training stress.


I was wondering, that if Im gonna be stubborn about high frequency despite not fully recovering in some muscle groups, would it be better to lower intensity or lower volume. Specifically if Im aiming more towards general work capacity instead of specificity at this stage of training.

Yeah I doubt theyre going to fall apart, mine are still good, and the quality used should be better than the adipowers 2.0, with that said ive heard the quality on the leather from the red and white ones (you cant buy new anymore) are better than the white&black ones and the red&black ones, as well, hancott said his toe went through one of his adipowers cause he spread the floor so hard it eventually rubbed through and his adipowers 1.0 are still good which he squats in usually
