i guess just pay attention to the inflammation, if it gets worse or if you feel it strongly when outside of the gym then you should probably take a break from whatever's causing it. even just taking a week or two off from lower body lifts can help. then ease back in with light rehab work, then slowly work back up to lmao4plate. even if you "lose" a month that's better than trying to work through a steadily worsening injury. you'll end up stronger if you let it heal, figure out what's causing the inflammation (either a form issue, overwork, or some kind of muscular imbalance), and address it

rolling/massaging will help a lot along with stretching, i'd imagine like most people you're probably pretty tight. ice after too.

add in hip abductions, hip rotations and related exercises, they're super helpful with strengthening those surrounding muscles (like glut min and med) and theres a billion ways to do them. strengthening your other hip muscles (not just your hip extenders) will not only help your problem but increase your overall leg strength too

I'm currently on a slow and steady cut and doing my best to minimize gains loss. I lost 20 lbs on my DL and found myself completely unable to finish my light accessory DLs after finishing with my working sets

After cutting them out and replacing them with a simple sit up/plank regimen I've seen my max go back up 10 lbs without adding calories

You just had fatigue accumulated and hadn't recovered. Common issue that leads to underperforming.

"Overtraining" implies you've been accumulating so much fatigue that your body can't recover and starts "crashing". It's not easy to get there, unless you're pretty strong and want to.

This month, Denver hosts the Men's and Women's Open Nationals. Through this meet, we select our Open and Master teams for IPF World Championships, Regional Competition, and other international meets. It also serves as another selection meet for our Junior and Subjunior National Teams, the earlier ones being High School and Collegiate Nationals. These competitions mirror our Raw program, and teams identical in number and divisions are nominated at the International level in the both the Raw and Equipped divisions. The National Governing Body meeting is held in conjunction with Open Nationals. The business of the Federation is conducted, and guidance given to the Executive and paid staff for the coming year. Election of open Executive Committee members is held during this meeting and nominees are selected for the honorary awards, such as the Brother Bennett Award, Coach of the Year, Referee of the Year. As you are aware, we test a minimum of 10% of competitors in-competition, and have a robust out-of-competition testing program. It includes a variety of testing panels, including anabolics, stimulants, diuretics, and masking agents. We test for designer drugs, recreational drugs, and for new generation substances such as Selective Androgen Receptor Modulators and Meldonium (recently added to the WADA Banned Substance List). We have increased the percentage of testing done through WADA accredited laboratories, and blood testing is also on the horizon for USA Powerlifting athletes.

One area of growing concern is the use of hormone replacement strategies in both men and women. These substances and strategies are not approved under the WADA Code and aren't allowed in USA Powerlifting. The recent increase in drug test failures reflects our determination to keep the playing field level and our platform fair for those who do not use these drugs. While you and your doctor may choose these treatments based on your individual medical history, using them renders you ineligible for competition in USA Powerlifting, and in the International Powerlifting Federation. Please be aware that there is NO Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) for hormone replacement, either for men or for women.

Hopefully they're not doing random testing.

Positives don't necessarily trend down a great deal in an increasing member population but the proportional trend still can. The IAAF used to be obsessed with hiding their positives. Look where that got them. Personally I like increased positive tests. Show that testing is working better and those are all drug cheats getting caught, discredit, shamed and banned. Love it.

Better testing (both in terms of how frequently/rapidly you can test and in terms of what you can test for) will also spike positive rates.
