you definitely need surgery if you want to look feminine. hormones will shift your fat, yes, but not enough to feminize your face. if you go through male puberty before your bones are done growing, then your masculine facial structure is largely irreversible without changing the bones themselves.

That's good. You said you wanted to go through a couple years of therapy first, but if you're very adamant about wanting to go through with this, depending on where you live you may only need a few months the of therapy before they set you up with a transgender clinic and you can buy your hormones.

Pills are by far the cheapest, and I'd recommend the hormones to be started sooner than later, and using the inheritance money you'll be receiving to cover the cost of the surgeries you'll be getting on your face entirely.

Hormones aren't expensive. Mine cost $63 a month. 100 mg sprionolactone twice daily, and estradiol 2mg thrice daily.

I had a visit set up with the clinic a few months the after my repeat visits with my counselor, and the clinic did my shit back in January.

My blood test was taken rather recently and my hormone levels, near the END of my doses were in normal range for a woman, with a test level of 20 and estrogen level of 175.
So likely the estrogen level is higher during the onset of a dose, and the test is lower during the first few hours as well.

Anyway, the sooner you start OP the better it will be for you. However, do take things at your own pace.
If you feel you need 2 years or so before you begin transition that's fine, so long as you're happy as a result of it or not rushed into something you may regret.
But if you think you will have no regrets and truly see yourself as a woman, then go for it.

Genuine gender dysphoria has nothing to do with the mind or identity. It is a disease of the neural systems which govern sexually dimorphic tissues, and manifests as physical sensation. The "woman in a man's body" idea is blatant non-science.

That being said, the only effective treatment known of is hormone replacement, which helps with the symptoms, but is not a cure. Surgery does not improve prognosis beyond HRT alone.
